We loved this little hotel. At first glance, it looked nothing special in this little village about 10 minutes from Flam. But inside the people were so lovely, every staff member made it their job to make us feel at home. The restaurant staff provided excellent service and the food was spectacular. Probably one of the best we ate on our two week Scandinavian trip. The lobster roll, sashimi, and baby goat were highlights. Also, the front staff were so friendly and so nice to us to even allow us to do some laundry since we were traveling with no access. Highly recommend this little gem. I was so glad I did not stay in the bustling port of Flam as it’s fine to go there for your excursions but it’s nowhere where you want to stay( we did have a rental car which is key).

Small hotel so no amenities and has smaller rooms

Location-Don’t even consider staying in the tourist town of Flåm, just a short drive away to this hotel that is beautifully situated on the fjord. Make sure you book a room with a balcony with great a great view of the fjord, snow capped mountains and waterfalls. First class restaurant with chef prepared food and wonderful service. Very good breakfast, order items from the chef’s menu plus buffet items to choose from. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. Free parking in front of the hotel, a big plus. Cabinet with shelves for hanging clothes, luggage rack.

No TV, which is not a minus, sit out on the balcony, relax and soak in the fantastic view. The bathroom vanity is small, although it has a draw, there is no counter space to place your things.

Our stay at this boutique hotel was fantastic. The location is perfect - tucked away from the usual tourist crowds making it peaceful and relaxing. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment we arrive, assisting with a smooth check-in and even helping us arrange transportation after our fjord cruise. Both breakfast and dinner were fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. The view from our room was absolutely stunning - waking up to it each morning was a real treat. Free and convenient parking was a huge plus and the internet worked flawlessly throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking charm, comfort, and great service in a quiet yet convenient location!

The hotel is pretty modern comparing to other hotels in the area. It has a view of Fjords, but its not the "first line" to the Fjords, which i was expecting. Nevertheless, the view is beautiful. The parking if free and just in front of the hotel, but its limited space, so you might not get a spot later in the evening. There is an elevator for your luggage, which was useful as well. Breakfast had a selection of fish, fresh yogurt, pastries, etc. We found out that Aurland has the sun longest from all other nearby towns, which is cute. The town is TINY. Besides the hotel, I recommend you taking a Fjord Safari, it was incredible

You really do need a car, because Aurland has only 1 bar/cafe that is opened after 5 pm. We drove to Flam for dinner, and took once dinner at the hotel, which was nice but nothing spectacular. Fried eggs at breakfast were cold and rubbery, bacon was horrible as well, but the rest of the buffet food was perfect. There is not much to do in the evening, so i wish hotel would have some entertainment. The TV in the room would also have been nice.

The location is fantastic and the breakfast is excellent in terms of choices - good option for vegetarians too !! The river at the corner of the hotel was pristine and beautiful.

They gave us a room that faced a wall and there was no air conditioning so they gave us a fan but because it was facing a wall it got very claustrophobic and when I requested to change my room to a front facing they said all family rooms were wall facing which I thought was weird for the price we paid

Parking right in front of the hotel. The room was amazing and we even got upgraded to a room with balcony which was lovely. The staff was very nice and polite. Despite the dinner menu not having many options the venison burger was phenomenal, and the included breakfast had plenty of options too. The bed were comfy and shower amazing, both shampoo/shower gel and conditioner were available.

We didn't mind going up the stairs to the 3rd floor, however some guests might. There is a lift to take the luggage up to the 2nd floor tho, but then you have to carry it for the rest. Each floor had like 12 steps each.

I stayed at this boutique hotel for one day and was very impressed. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with a wide variety of options. The room was spacious and clean, with a great en-suite bathroom and shower area. The double beds were very comfortable, and there were also two single beds. The availability of tea and coffee in the room was a nice touch. The hotel's location right in front of the lake and close to the Flåm main area was very convenient.

Just keep in mind that the price is on the higher side. Overall, a very good experience.

We loved the location of the property in the little village of Aurland, away from the touristy Flåm

When we arrived the daytime receptionist was very off-hand, not helpful or interested at all. Appeared to just want us to leave our bags and return after 4pm. Apart from this interaction the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely & evening receptionist very helpful. Restaurant staff so friendly and professional.

The location and view were superb. The morning staff were polite and helpful and our rooms were very clean. There was a nice spread for breakfast that included fresh croissants and pastries from a nearby bakery.

There is no elevator and my daughter and I each had large, overpacked suitcases. They do not offer luggage service and the staff watched us struggle up and down 2 flights of stairs. I guess we learned our lesson about overpacking though. Dinner was meh.

Very close to major activities. Average size room. The view of the fjord from was magnificent. A very good breakfast included. Dinner available onsite. About 10 parking places in front of hotel. Good WiFi in the room.

Bathroom was very musty, had to keep towels over the sink and shower drains. Elevator to first floor is for freight. When moving we had to plug our ears due to the squealing sound it made. Limited dinner menu that was overpriced for the location. Wait staff was not customer friendly - when we asked to have our beef sent back to the kitchen to be cooked med-well, we were told that “no, it is pre-cooked to med, and that’s the way it is”. Fortunately another server came along and made things right.
