Loved the location as right in Flam but in a quieter area so away from hustle and bustle. Had fabulous views from bedroom and dining room. The breakfast and dinner both superb The staff were very welcoming & helpful I would definitely stay again if ever to return to Flam

Although dinner was lovely, it would have been nice to have had a choice of main course. As no veggie options or catering for different dietary requirements. Also, there was no TV in the room; it was OK but it would have been helpful to know ( so know to bring my laptop) The room was very warm in the night. The shower was very small although it was fine.

We especially liked the view, and liked having a nice seating area for reading and playing games. (As in most places we stayed, the rooms themselves are quite small.) Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. We also appreciated getting an email from the property telling us about the different activities that are available in the area. It helped us plan how to best spend our time in Flam.

The one improvement I would suggest is to offer free transport from the train station/harbor and reverse, in case of bad weather. (And I emphasize, ONLY in case of bad weather.) It's a pleasant and easy walk to get to the pension, but it can be quite miserable when it rains. Since there is no taxi service in Flam, one can only hope that when it pours, there will be a taxi waiting upon arrival. When leaving town, one has to order a taxi as much as half a day before actually departing only because it might rain that morning. In addition we were told that the taxi service is not always reliable.

Wonderful view from bedroom window and tables outside (worth paying extra for a room with a view). We loved going for a little walk in the evening. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water in reception. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle by the dock but still within easy walking distance. Delicious breakfast and 3 course dinner (set menu with no choice - but we were very happy and it exceeded our expectations).

Slight niggle was the smell of the bathroom drain.

The room is clean, the guesthouse is a few minutes walking from the train station and the harbor. Good dinner, amazing view on the fjord from the dining room and from our room. The woman at the reception was really kind and available to help when I asked her to warm the milk for our baby

The room and the bathroom are really, really really, small. The service during the breakfast was quite absent, I had to ask for napkins that were nowhere in the breakfast room. Breakfast is essential (yogurt, coffee, orange juice, tea, biscuits, chocolate spread, bacon, bread, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, ham, cheese)

The location is perfect, the hotel is nicely furnished and comfortable. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The staff are friendly. The views from the hotel are amazing. We enjoyed our dinners on both nights, there was plenty to eat. It is a set menu, which they can adjust if you can't eat something on the menu. Free tea and coffee is available in reception. The hotel is an easy walk to the town.

We didn't get the room we selected. It was a room at the back of the hotel. We were expecting a lake view as shown in the photos when selecting the room. 10 out of 10 times receive the room shown in the photos. If not, it's usually an upgrade. We arrived cold and wet and just wanted to get in and get dry and warm, so we didn't mention it. The room size was correct. The single beds are quite narrow, but we didn't fall out! The shower / wet room floods, so don't put the mat on the floor, put it in the bedroom.

Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and they were able to accommodate our food allergies (we gave advanced notice). The hotel was a 10-min walk from the training station and port, at the head of the fjord, with beautiful views. The day of checkout, they let us store our luggage there and use the sitting room to hang out in until our boat left. Everyone was helpful.

Need more towels in the bathroom to soak up the water on the floor from the shower.

The dinner was excellent, really delicious and lots of it. The room was quite small but it was very clean and comfortable and fitted everything. The bathroom was very nice although the water from the shower leaked into the rest of the room when you used it. The reception area was a lovely place to sit and really light and airy, and the communal living room in the basement was a great space to relax. The position of Heimly was perfect within Flam: easy walking distance to the centre but very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view.

The breakfast didn't have so much choice as other places we stayed. The butter got lots of crumbs in it - maybe individual butter would be better.

This is a pleasant hotel, situated close to the shore, with a front decks that provides lovely views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. Our modern room was a reasonable size with plain but pleasant decor and very comfortable beds. Good curtains, too. Breakfast and dinner were included in the tariff. Dinner was a budget meal of 3 courses but was tasty and filling. (Drinks can be purchased separately.) We really appreciated the all day tea and coffee that was available in the foyer.

There are, however, a few problems. 1. The price! This is the most expensive hotel we have stayed in during 6 weeks in Norway. Yes, I know, it’s Flam but ….. 2. The ultra modern bathroom is tiny and the drainage in the shower is so poor it was starting to flood the entire bathroom after barely a minute. I gave up on a shower. 3. The hotel needs to let guests know in advance what is on the menu for dinner each night. Sure, there’s no choice, but it’s nice to know in advance.

We had a wonderful stay here and would happily return. The situation was superb, with wonderful views down the fjord, The staff were charming, always courteous and helpful. The meals were excellent. Breakfast was good, with continental choices and also nicely cooked bacon and eggs. We had dinner both evenings. It was a set, three-course meal. All courses were beautifully cooked and presented, with appropriate quantities to eat. We also enjoyed trying locally brewed beers and cider with our supper. One really good feature was free tea and coffee in the sitting area throughout the day. We appreciated being able to sit there after walks with coffee while chatting or reading. The room and en suite facilities were comfortable, clean and well-maintained. We were surprised that our room was tidied for us each day. We had imagined that it might not be.

The scenery was breathtaking, amazing location. Couldn't have wished for a better spot. Close to everything...shops, pub, transport and hiking trails. The food was good...we had a 3 course meal on the evening and were allowed to make sandwiches at breakfast time for our picnic! The beds were unbelievably comfortable and with a view from the porch of the fjord with spectacular waterfalls - you really couldn't ask for much more than that!!

The rooms need upgrading, they reminded me of something you'd get in a youth hostel. Around the shower and toilet could've done with a better clean there were a few 'hairs'!! I felt a little pricey for the room. The location, food and service more than made up for it though.....
