The dinner was really good, buffet. The breadfast was really good also, a lot of choices. The room was spacious and nice, quiet. We went there for dinner and wound up going back there to get a room. The staff was really great. The room was supposed to have A/C and it did not. It was HOT. The girl at reception showed us 3 rooms all hot but you could open door. She told us that the whole hotel did not have A/C even though it was advertised as it did. Nice girl, helpful

No AC. We left the hotel down the street which I paid for. Came to this hotel because we had dinner there and it advertised it DID have A/C. False advertising. I understand it was just bought and new owners. Okay during the night but you had to leave door to balcony open.

The hotel lobby is amazing! So many soft couches to relax on and look over at the beautiful lake across the street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Skei is a prescription place to rest and relax.

Let me start by saying I know the hotel has brand new owners and they have not had time to make any changes. The rooms are spacious but definitely need a refresh as they look old and dated. It would be great if USB charging ports could be installed. There is very little in Skei for dining options other than the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was helpful. The room was comfortable and had a nice view from the balcony. A car, bus or bicycle would be necessary to get to most places nearby, but the lake, a hiking trail and some shops were within walking distance. The hotel has a spacious lobby, meeting space and eating area that kind of serves as the living room for the entire village.

The property is quite large and evidently gets pretty heavy use during the high seasons. We visited during the shoulder season, and many things were being repaired or in need of at least superficial repairs. There's a bit of traffic noise from the main highway/trucking route nearby, but well, the hotel was there first. The bathroom tub/shower setup made it difficult to avoid getting a lot of water on the floor.

It was an amazing stay. We had last minute booking and therefore expensive. But the service, the breakfast and the room we got, it worths the money we paid. View and neighborhood is just amazing. We will go there again just for short break.

Really nothing. They cooperated even for the dinner. We arrived late. We did not want to eat but just a bit of accompany with my son and they accepted that without asking for extra and I was OK to pay half-board for myself!

Clean and modern hotel in a beautiful location. Buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations and staff was pleasant and helpful. We were even able to do a few loads of laundry at a self service machine for only a few dollars.

We were aware there was no AC at the hotel, but had cooler weather predicted. Unfortunately we happened to arrive on the warmest day of our trip (75F) and one of our rooms was overly warm because it had the daytime sun. The other room which faced the opposite direction was very comfortable.

Room was nice, and clean. Breakfast was great. Staff we saw were friendly.

Sofa bed for the 3rd person. I am not sure why most of the hotel rooms in Norway only have sofa beds for party of 3 travelers, but those beds are usually only reasonable for the young. This is not a critical thing, but maintenance of the facilities seem to be falling behind with broken windows in an un-used pool room and a general feel of 'aging' of the facilities. This was not a huge issue, just one I noticed, since most buildings in Norway show great 'pride of ownership'.

The thing I really loved was that, unlike other grand hotels, there was no pretension or extortion here. Useful amenities were offered free of charge or at a nominal cost. This included a coin operated laundry and tea-making facilities, with the cleanest kettle I’ve ever seen. Rooms were clean, buffet breakfast and dinner was excellent, staff were professional. What more could you want?

The initial receptionist was lovely and couldn’t do enough to help, especially as we were late arriving. Rooms weren’t as initially ordered but were sorted eventually.

The second receptionist was not as helpful as the first and everything was a struggle to sort. Reluctance to change room configuration despite it not being as ordered. We got there in the end but everything seemed just too much trouble. Took the edge off the overall experience despite all the rest of the staff being lovely.

THE STAFF! ❤️ The staff went above and beyond! I forgot my iPad, and they went the extra mile to ship it to me in Oslo. A huge thank you to the entire team! The hotel is great. Get the room with the view to the fjord. Amazing to wake up with this view. The bed is very comfortable. Food for dinner is a buffet- there something for everyone. Breakfast is great. We loved the area.

Everything was great

Beautiful location. It is a small town so only eating/drinking was at the hotel. The drink choices were minimal and of a cost associated with hotel prices. Buffet for dinner (not included in room cost) absolutely delicious and plentiful. Breakfast, included, likewise was delicious with a variety to suit all. A great stop over for our journey.

Limited drink choices.
