Enter Amelie Hotel is in an excellent location with easy walking to all parts of central Tromso, and so close to the bus and ferry terminal. I found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, as I had the chance to interact with four of the front desk staff during my two separate stays. It’s nice when the staff conveys such a friendly and positive approach to guests and their work. During my second stay I lost my cell phone somewhere outside in town and the staff member Zoltan took it upon himself to call my number and found someone who picked it up and returned it to the hotel. What a lifesaver that was. As a solo traveler, my room was small, including the small bathroom, nevertheless it was comfortable and more than enough for someone who is out and about and busy exploring. I will definitely choose to stay here again when I visit.

Keep in mind, as a solo traveler in choosing a small single room, the rooms ARE small but nevertheless very cozy, and the bathroom and shower were also tight to maneuver around. Nevertheless, the hotel, location, breakfast and great staff offset these aspects.

Location: Small hotel but great location situated right in the middle of Tromso city. Food: Simple buffet breakfast, free Cake in the afternoon and free pancake in the evening. Can make hot drinks at the cafe. Service: Although they don't have 24 hr manning at reception but all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Wiling to spend time answering our questions.

Family room is abit small. Struggle to fit 4 medium size luggages. 2 bunk bed and 2 x single bed combine into double bed. Don't have 24 hours reception manning. Have to proceed to nearby sister hotel for check in and retrieve room key after 11pm.

The staff and facilities were great. The room was well equipped with a nice view, even with the budget option chosen. The bathroom had floor heating which was comfy. The breakfast was quite a spread with lots of cold and warm options. Eggs cooked in 2-3 different ways, bacon/sausages, meat balls, sautéed veggies, salad bar and more. Complementary cookies available all day and waffles in the evening. It was a delight to us :) The location is fantastic with easy access to several activities, public transportation, restaurants... Overall, a truly exceptional hotel experience for the price paid. Thank you for the stay!

The hotel location is absolutely perfect for a tourist trip to Tromsø!! Old cathedral, Polaria, Gallery, Troll museum, Magic Ice, Polar museum and Skansen, harbor - all in a walking distance. Even the shuttle bus stop to the cable car! And, there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel to go to any other destination, to the airport, too. The breakfast buffet has very good variety of meals. At 17:00-19:00 you can make your own fresh waffels with jam and coffee or tea, included in the price!

There should be a coffee machine to make a normal fresh coffee according to your preference. I do not like that thin filter coffee standing for hours on the heater! And, just two(!) hangers in the room wardrobe is really not enough! I was missing a small fridge in the room, as well. Smoked salmon and shrimp salad are the standard "souvenir" I have to bring home from Norway - but how to store them in the hot room until check-out??? Or if you open a buttle of wine, milk etc. And finally, the steps in front of the hotel entry should be cleaned from ice and snow better and whole time.

I was so happy with this booking! Location is great: Easy access to both the main street and the port, without the noise nuisance of either. Breakfast was great. The daily "Norwegian waffle" evenings were super cozy. The room was well equipped and functional. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I felt cold, and within minutes they had made arrangements for an extra heater and turned it on so the room was warm when I got back. They offer a number of excursions with "Enter Adventures" -- super easy to just pop down from your room to the ground floor, where the Northern Lights chaser tours start. Overall, great value for money - especially considering the NOK prices.

We were very happy with our stay here! First of all, the location. It is 1-2 minutes walking distance to where most of the northern light chase tours start from. Another point is comfort. It was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I had in a while. Granted our room was small, but it had everything we needed. We even had a small desk to be able to work a bit. Also the lobby/breakfast area was comfortable - which was great when we had to sit indoors for a bit, when we wanted to shield ourselves from the snowstorm outside. Breakfast was great. Really great selection of food including gluten free options. Last but not least the staff: they were very friendly and helpful every step of the way. Overall the establishment was just trying to be accommodating and helpful to their guests.

Nothing, generally we were pleased with our stay. We got what we needed from this sort of a vacation and we got the value of what we paid for. At this price level, there is simply nothing to complain, they actually exceeded the expectations.

The hotel is VERY well located. There are two airport shuttle stops within 5 minutes and a city bus stop right across the street. The harbour and all the tour pick up locations are very close by. The staff were super friendly and the tee/coffee/cake/cookies offer in the afternoon was a great extra touch. There are many restaurants close by too. The breakfast spread was also okay. The room itself was a bit small, but enough for two people. Everything was clean and comfortable. The heated floors in the bathroom and towel warmer were amazing touches that made a huge difference by -15C.

The rooms are a bit dated and the windows are not isolated well, so cold wind does enter the room, however, the heaters below the window helped keep the room warm.

Best location right at the waters edge, next to bus stop, restaurants and different museums . The staff is super helpful and very kind. Everyday fresh waffles and coffee in the afternoon for free! Breakfast was wonderful and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were very small and had no storage for clothes , we had to live out of our suitcases, which limited the area to move within our room. With little kids that was our biggest challenge. Towel changes only upon request .

I loved the view from my room on the fjord. The breakfast was rich and delicious (I can't even remember, when I last had raspberry jam that actually tasted like raspberry ! I would stay there again just for that raspberry jam). The bed was very comfortable. I liked the book which was placed in the room, full of good suggestions for nearby places to visit. All day long, there was free tea and coffee, and even cookies, and waffles were available in the evening. The location was very central, with a bus stop almost right in front.

The heating did not get hot, just warm, and so the room always was a bit too cold.

It's always hard reviewing these Arctic hotels, as let's face it if one compared the price per night with pretty much anywhere else in Europe it'd be a much lower score and I don't think it would be 'excellent value for money' as the hotel is in Tromso; I adjusted for this factor when considering this review! The room was snugg but big enough and I could fit in the shower easily. The sound insulation was decent and location absolutely central. The breakfast was spot on. The staff nice.

The floor was a bit gritty (dirty) in the room and a little tired.
