**Holiday Review: Shangri-La Al Husn** My recent stay at Shangri-La Al Husn was nothing short of spectacular. We chose this resort to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The staff, particularly those in the lobby, were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They made us feel special throughout our stay, ensuring that all our requests were promptly and professionally handled. Their warmth and hospitality truly set the tone for our holiday. The breakfast and dining options were superb, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes that catered to all tastes. Every meal was a delight, and the quality of the food was consistently excellent. The pool and beach areas were simply breathtaking. The serene ambiance and stunning views made for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Whether lounging by the pool or taking a stroll along the private beach, the surroundings were nothing short of paradise. Overall, our stay at Shangri-La Al Husn was amazing. The combination of luxurious amenities, attentive service, and beautiful surroundings made it an unforgettable experience. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our anniversary, and we look forward to returning in the future.

It was a fantastic vacation! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. A lot of personal touch - specially decorated room for my arrival on my birthday (cake, card, little gifts), manager of the hotel Nick personally talking to all guests during breakfast and giving some tips, free cocktail hour. Everyone was so helpful and friendly - Said and all beach crew, Zainub at the reception, cart drivers. Beach activities included snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boards, turtle watching. Food was nice, pool was great and the beach was beautiful! We had an amazing time!

the location is a bit far from main attractions, but the free shuttle service covers for it.

Overall the property is a little dated. The spa’s were also not on par with other Shangrila offerings. The staff while nice definitely were missing the 5 star touch and seemed a little sharp and missing service flair.

Amazing staff all over the hotel. Specially 'Said' from pool/beach area. Really goes above and beyond.

Food was surprisingly horrible and extremely over priced. Penne Arrabiata from room service wasn't edible, and for 28 usd... Restaurants all over the hotel were overpriced for the quality of the food offered. Although everything else was spot on, we definitely wouldn't consider returning just because of the food scene.

Excellent breakfast, top level service, beautiful room and common areas, lovely setting , beautiful pools and beaches

No bar in al husn, very strange for a 5star plus hotel. Private al husn Beach a bit crowded (we preferred the much bigger and more spacious beach at the sister al bandar hotel. Complimentary aperitives from 6 till 7; too early; we prefer to stay on beach till 5:30/6, get ready for dinner and go out for an aperitive more like 7:30. As a result we only used it once. Also, food and drink is VERY VERY expensive. We spent £3,200 on our room for 10 nights and almost the same again on food and drink, and we weren't at all extravagant (light lunch salad or sandwich; one pre dinner drink; we ate most nights at the buffet £60 to £70 per head including a drink). If you eat at the a la carte restaurants, for 3 courses plus a glass or 2 of wine you will be spending £120 plus per head .

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the hospitality of the entire staff. In all our travels across different countries, we have rarely experienced such warmth and genuine care. After a minor accident I had at the beach, help was immediate and extremely attentive, which we truly appreciated. The hotel itself is beautifully located, offering stunning views and an atmosphere of complete tranquility. The food was outstanding — especially the breakfast, which was a daily highlight. The private beach was simply a dream: peaceful, immaculate, and exclusive. We also loved the daily afternoon tea with coffee and cake at 3:30 PM, as well as the evening drinks starting at 6 PM — these thoughtful touches made the stay even more special. Through the hotel, we also booked a tour to the Dimaniyat Islands. Although the group was larger than we had originally expected and the experience was not as private as we had imagined, it turned out to be a truly wonderful adventure. We were lucky enough to see whale sharks and dolphins, and we even had the unforgettable experience of swimming with turtles. Normally, we never visit the same hotel twice — but Shangri-La Al Husn will definitely be an exception. We are already looking forward to returning!

This is truly a hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. If we had to mention one very minor point, it would be that the restaurant’s interior is a little old-fashioned. However, it didn’t bother us at all and, if anything, added to the hotel’s unique charm.

This was our second time at Shangri-La Al Husn and it’s become one of our favourite hotels anywhere in the world. The hotel itself is very beautiful, with thoughtful Omani architectural features, and is impeccably clean. The service staff, from reception to housekeeping and the various restaurants, are all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Our room was very spacious, clean, and tidied 2x per day (it also had everything one would need, eg flip flops for the beach, iron, etc.). We also really appreciated all the added benefits such as complementary drinks in the room and by the beach, afternoon tea, and a cocktail hour in the evening (in their gorgeous courtyard) - fantastic value for money. One of the other main highlights for us is the location. The hotel is right be the sea, with really beautiful views over the coastline. The private beach is just heaven on earth with very clean sand and water. You also have the opportunity to hire (for free) canoes and paddle boards. It goes without saying that the hotel also has nice pools, though we haven’t used those (given the amazing beach). There are several restaurants on site. Whilst we’ve had some delicious meals, they often come with a hefty price tag and you may want to venture out into Muscat for some authentic Omani dishes which will be 25% of the price (but that’s usually the case when eating in hotels). The breakfast was amazing, with an a la carte menu and a buffet with fresh pastries, fruit, salads, cheeses, breads, dips, etc. All in all, it was a fantastic stay and we will certainly return for a third (and probably fourth, etc.) time!

Impeccable service all the way. Beach is amazing. We were lucky to catch little turtles hatchings- unforgettable experience! Excellent breakfast!

The STAFF was absolutely wonderful!!! I’d never been to a Shangri-La property before but do travel a lot and have seen many five star hotels so I can definitely say that they were amazing here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the service level was completely on point as well as the hospitality. I’ve worked with high level hotels for years so I have good reference and would highly recommend this hotel. We were sad to leave and will miss it. I almost didn’t want to post this review to keep it a secret but the staff absolutely deserves 10 STARS 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Shame some of the restaurant and pool facilities were closed but we visited in summer and they were doing renovations.
