We loved the beach and the view from our room. Tge lazy river was fun. The hotel was very clean and well maintained.

We felt that Al Waha hotel where we stayed felt dated. The marketing literature describes as luxury but it didn’t feel luxurious. Also the prices in the restaurants were too expensive overall - for these prices I want to eat and drink in smarter surroundings. In the Italian restaurant, the cheapest bottle of wine was approximately £80….

Excellent hotel, first class facilities, design, very good beaches, food, relaxation

Animals such as pony and camel standing for several hours on the beach under direct sun with no shade and no water. I have discussed this with hotel staff and I hope that Shangri-la Management pays immediate attention to this matter. For many prospective clients it's extremely important to trait animals & nature with high respect. Other than that no complaints.

The location is beautiful, the rooms were very decent, and the overall property is really really nice. We loved using the lazy river.

The staff at the reception is not welcoming at all. It came with big surprise as during the hikes we have always been amazed by the hospitality of Omani people - always smiling, always welcoming to their homes, offering food, etc. However, during the check in, the staff was short in answers, not helpful, and not welcoming at all. Phillipino lady the next day was good though. Also, food is overpriced in Samba restaurant. Portions are small, and overall not the greatest. Breakfast in Samba was okay, however, on our second day we checked out Al Tanoor restaurant for breakfast in Bandar Hotel and we were shocked at how different it was compared to Samba. Much brighter, much nicer ambiance, a much better presentation and service was outstanding!

Friendly staff. Seafood restaurant was incredible. Breakfast was v v good. Location is amazing. Utilized in-resort medical service. Associated dive center staff were also friendly and welcoming & diving was very good. Booking activities through the hotel (and paying through hotel) was also a v pleasant experience, very professional.

Noisy. Cleaners made noise in the corridors early in the morning, which woke up my wife. Activities (lazy river) close to the sea view rooms, which was also noisy.

Breakfast was amazing. Amount of facilities is great. Property is conveniently located. Service is great. A lot of activities at the beach (paid). Beach is great for both relaxing, swimming and sun bathing. Good place to chill out after round Oman trip for 2-3 of days. NY disco was good.

No places to eat closeby, except the hotel restaurants which are quite overpriced. Need to drive 15 min to the closest town with plenty of good restaurants. Disappointed with the NY quality of set menu at the Italian restaurant, they try to impress and create something extraordinary, but in my opinion do not quite succeed - taste wise was 3 out of 5. Better sometimes to stick to something more simple but make it top notch.

Lovely hotel. Large rooms and nice sized bathrooms. Great pool and lazy river. Lovely people. Breakfast was delicious.

The cost of the food and drink at the resort was awful. £24 for a glass of wine in one restaurant. Average cost of a meal per person £40 for a main. Hotel doesn’t allowed local taxi companies into resort. So on day 1 we used the hotel taxi service. He charged us £30 for an 8 mile round trip. We then started to just get the shuttle to the gate of the hotel to get a local taxi that costs 70% cheaper. The costs inside the hotel compared to outside was quite shocking.

This was my first time staying at Al Waha, though I’ve previously stayed at Al Husn and Al Bandar, each offering a unique experience. I can confidently say that Al Waha is absolutely perfect for families, especially if you're traveling with children. The hotel is designed with kids in mind. From the slides, kid-friendly pools, and multiple play areas to organized children's activities and the lazy river, there’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained all day. It’s a stress-free environment for families, and the facilities are genuinely impressive. Al Waha delivers exactly what you'd expect for the price point, slightly on the expensive side, but well worth it for the value and experience, especially if you’re coming with kids. Highly recommend it for a fun, family-friendly getaway!

That said, I wouldn’t recommend Al Waha for business travelers or groups of friends, it’s more lively, and very much geared toward family enjoyment. If you're traveling for work, or as couples or even solo, Al Husn is a better fit, quiet, elegant, and refined. For friends or group travel, even work trips, Al Bandar offers the right balance of activity and relaxation.

We received an upgrade to the AL-HUSN Adults only Hotel and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The premises are huge and so well maintained. Staff is so friendly and helpfull, Pool and Beach were never too crowded and breakfast was perfect. Pure LUXURY. You need to experience Al Husn! Food at the Beach bar was also really good and not expensive. Also the Buffet-BBQ can higly be recommended.

We liked practically about everything. Only SMALL critics would be that the location is really far from the City, Wine selections in the Hotel are not great and very expensive. Al Bait Fish restaurant was not as good as expected... Service is great and Restaurant is nice, but the food does not match with the prices. (Not Michelin or Gault&Millau standard)

Breakfast was great, beach was perfect, rooms were cozy and great. The only suggestion would be that considering the weather conditions of the country they Shangri-La should cover the walking path area with some extra trees or with shade. Except this everything was great.

nothing specific, everything was great, balcony in our room could have been grilled one instead of wall so the view of the pool would be great while sitting and sipping a cup of coffee and also a shade would be great. Thanks
