The best thing about this hotel is its central location & wonderful rooptop terrace with a view over Plaza de Armas and the volcanoes. Staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful. Good shower & food in the restaurant.

I got a room which felt like a basement room, walking down steps and with a door facing a narrow space inside the building. This felt a little claustrophobic. I later found out that the rooms with windows that actually face the outside you have to pay more. There is no restaurant inside, only the rooftop terrace. They provide cozy ponchos but nevertheless it can be cold and a bit uncomfortable not to be able to move to an inside table.

The location is perfect. The view from the roof top bar is breath taking. The room is well decorated. The bed is comfortable. The dinner served at the roof top bar is pretty The staff were courteous and proficient.

Our room doesn't have air conditioning, but we were fine because the weather was nice. A small concern is the shampoo provided was in a bottle with the opening and a lid on the top which cannot be sealed well. Because the bottle is right next to the shower, some shower water will inevitably seep into the bottle. That's a good looking but bad design.

This hotel is right on the main square but we had no problem with noise. It is very convenient for visiting nearby sites. The staff were nice and helpful. We stayed in the "presidential suite." It had an extra space with some really nice antique furniture, but that space is back in the center of the hotel with a view of the light well rather than the square. The view of the square is from the bedroom, but it is not as good as I expected, becuase there is a great big beam in the middle of the window right at eye level. I could watch the square if I sat on the floor. It was really interesting to do this, but not quite what I expected. The hotel was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was good. The view from the roof breakfast area is great.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms big and comfortable. The undisputed highlight however is the rooftop bar/restaurant which has an unrivalled view over the plaza, the cathedral and the volcanic mountain range.

If you have a room that is facing the interior vent/courtyard, note the windows are thin. If there are people chatting, you can hear conversations from the rooftop and others that have their window open (as a result we had our window closed for the evening, but still had some disturbance from people waking up to catch the early outward bound busses.

We were looked after by Patricia and Nieve. They were both excellent and so pleasant. We loved our stay at Katari hotel , everything was taken care for us and nothing was too much for Patricia and Nieve. The breakfast was on the teras with panoramic view of the volcano mountains and the cathedral, of course the staff who took care of breakfast were also excellent. We will go back to Katari hotel on our next visit to Arequipa.

May be more offering for facilities like a swimming pool but it didn't matter for us.

This hotel's location is one of the best in Arequipa for tourist. It's right on the Plaza de Armas. When we stepped out of the hotel's front door we were only steps away from the center of the plaza with the central fountain and cathedral right in front of us. You could catch a cab right from the entrance of the hotel or walk a few feet to the square for tours. The room has a heater, a modern and specious bathroom. The bathtub had built-in hot tub jets. The hot tub stayed hot even after a long soak. The rain shower had hot water and good water pressure. The breakfast restaurant is located on the roof of the hotel with outstanding views of the Plaza de Armas and majestic volcanic mountains. The free breakfast was cooked to order, but there was also a small breakfast buffet included. The ladies that served breakfast were kind and helpful. The even took good photos of us with the Plaza and mountains behind us. The staff is accommodating. They made sure we had transportation as needed. They worked with us to find tour contacts that gave us the tours we wanted.

The window of our Presidential Suite on the second floor and a limited view of the plaza due to a centuries-old historic walkway (walkway not commonly in use) located outside our room. However, I would still pick this room again because it also had access to a small courtyard that only we could access (other rooms had windows facing the courtyard, but no other rooms had a door to access it).

Katari hotel in Arequipa was our favorite hotel during our Peru trip! It was in the Plaza de Armas, so you couldn’t beat the location. It was one of two rooftop terraces on the plaza which provided incredible views. Our room surpassed our expectations! It was large and very luxurious. It had a built in water purifier in the sink which is a must during our Peru trip (saves so much on water bottle expenses). When we return to Arequipa we will be staying here only.

Perfect location, quiet & large “colonial style”room with big bathroom & shower, super comfy bed,pillows & linens. Very helpful staff, rooftop bar/restaurant with fab views of the parque. Easy to get anywhere from here. The lobby is pretty drab and doesn’t reflect the charm of the rooms.

Breakfasts were just ok- nothing great except service & view. But there are a few excellent cafes nearby so it’s easy to have a better b’fast for extra $. I would have rated this hotel a 10 but for the bland b’fast.

I traveled all of 2023 and this hotel earned its spot on top of my list. Great location on Plaza de Armas with a killer, really romantic roofdeck view of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa. The breakfast was phenomenal - buffet plus items to order a la carte. I booked a room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Everything was spotlessly clean. Beautiful shower and bathroom. The staff was simply phenomenal! There was a city-wide water outtage due to damage to some major pipes but the hotel went above-and-beyond to provide containers of water for its guests. I was still able to take a short shower. Simply wonderful!
