Great location, nice room, friendly helpful staff, decent food.

Wow it is noisy at night (8pm to 4am) you need earplugs to sleep. They have tried to reduce the sound with special doors and it helps but it’s still a rager on the street all night and then the taxis all start honking outside once the music stops.

Fantastic location with really lovely, helpful, friendly staff. Spotless and very comfortable room, with lots of hot water. Really good breakfast, and it was nice to have options so not the same thing every day. Le Foyer also gave us a good packed breakfast when we had to leave extra early for a day trip. The view at breakfast is unbelievable, simply stunning and the reason why it is also a sunset bar. Excellent choice of lighting in the rooms, a well thought through touch.

There is a bar/restaurant downstairs in the inner courtyard and bars/restaurants close by on the streets around the hotel, so it can be noisy, but this is made very clear before booking so we knew all about it. The staff at reception hand out ear plugs as soon as you arrive.

Clean room and facility. Location was good. Mattresses comfortable. Hot water. Comp Breakfast (w room) was nice and the restaurant views on the top floor of the snow cap mountains were very nice. Had a nice sunroom, w TV, on top floor we used while waiting for our room to get clean (we arrived extremely early).

Saturday night there was all sorts of different noises. Cars beeping loud, a group singing happy birthday repeatedly and being loud till about 3am, construction below in courtyard from neighboring cafe open to the rooms…it just seemed like the hostal should control some of these loud noises. Sunday night everything was quiet. Water pressure was weak. Small kids toilet in room. Should have a fan in the room as there is no window the opens to the outside. There were two different doors we left open to the outside when we were not sleeping. Had approx 100 channels but the channel guide on the remote didn’t work and there was not an information tv channel guide. Nobody knew what channel ESPN was.

This is a wonderful hotel set in the heart of the old historic centre of Arequipa. We loved staying here and it is literally a 5-minute walk to the Cathedral and Main Square. It is pretty much the perfect location for exploring the city and for drop offs / pick ups. The staff are so lovely and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel has a colonial olde-worlde feel to it and retains many original wooden features. The rooms are a good size and the showers are warm. The roof terrace is a great space and we enjoyed some nice breakfasts up there with views across the city. This morning we were the first ones up there for breakfast and there was a hummingbird flying around which was beautiful to see. The hotel feels chilled out and relaxing and served as a good base for when we were out during the day. Make sure you go towards the church which has the backdrop of the mountains and to your right go into the courtyard restaurant area where there is a circular iron staircase that takes you to the rooftop where you can get some gorgeous photos - especially in the evening light. We would definitely recommend Le Foyer.

A good stay in the old centre of Arequipa, with a nice terrace for breakfast and more with a wonderful view of the mountain peaks. Very welcoming staff and options for luggage storage, also a wide range of trips around the city as well as few-days treks that the hotel can arrange even at the last minute. Some rooms may be noisy as the balcony gives into a lively street, the house has the typical architecture of the neighbourhood, but that is the price of being in the heart of the city, and we got used to it quickly.

This is quite a nice place to stay in Arequipa, the rooms were comfortable and the atmosphere was good. The rooftop has a great view. Location was very good.

Breakfast - it took a long time to be served, around 1h. The problem is that it's served only for a short period of time, between 6.30 to 8.30, and everyone comes at the same time, and not enough staff to cover it. I believe this could be improved. If you have plans for the morning consider that it may take a while.

The location of the hotel is in the middle of the city center of Arequipa - its close to everything. The staff was very helpful with booking activities for us and for preparing breakfast for us the days we were leaving before the breakfast had started. The room was spacious and clean, and we could not hear any noise from the street. The breakfast was very good! And the restaurant at the roof top was also very good, so we ate there every evening. Also a good spot for watching the sunset

We had a really lovely stay at Le Foyer! We arrived early in the morning after our night bus and were allowed to check in straight away since our room was ready - which made a HUGE difference for us! Our room was well sized with a great balcony, and we were given the option to have breakfast there if we preferred. The laundry service was well-priced and speedy. Rooftop bar had a great selection of food at very reasonable priced, and had a great view over the city. Tasty breakfast options. Free coffee available all day. Plenty of options available for organised trips. Fab location only 5 mins walk from the main square. All the staff were really welcoming too - thank you all!

Can't fault it

the breakfast was amazing for the cost and for extras it was very affordable. The location is amazing and near the plaza de armas, i booked all my tours through there and they were all amazing except for the campiñas tour which i didn’t really need to do because the other tours covered off similar things. The staff helped me with everything I needed from the time i booked with them, helping me organise tours. They helped me cancel a tour after i got back from the colca canyon and was too dead to wake up super early the next day, rhey even whatsapp’ d me afterwards to see if i wanted to have breakfast in my room, very sweet gestures. they give you a little baggy snack to take if you miss out in breakfast cos you’re leaving early for a tour. they were very quickly available on booking.com chat to help with any concerns i had. They are a very hewed working group of people so i appreciated them helping me every step i needed them. My balcony was gorgeous & so is the terrace that you have breakfast on. there are toilets and showers for you to access outside the rooms if you need to after you check out and they will hold your luggage.

if you book a balcony room the outside noise can be quite loud but this is not the fault of the hotel, i have experienced this in almost every hotel i’ve stayed at in south america.

The location is great, close to main Plaza. Great value for your money, the hotel also offers tours and assistance with getting a taxi . There is always someone at the reception desk. Very clean bedding and sheets and pillowcase. Firm mattress. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very very thin walls. Little noisy but nothing unbearable if your used to city traffic. Room was clean except the shower curtain needed to be changed or washed. It would be great if some rooms had a mini fridge or microwave.
