Travelled as a family of 4 with 2 young boys. We had our own room facing the back pool and the boys had their own room in the middle of the property. We were OK with this and the boys were happy to be separated from us. Thoughts: -We liked having two separate pools as my sons took over the back pool away from the couples traveling -The room by the back pool was spacious and quiet and very clean with a very comfortable bed -The rooftop pool was really cool with great drinks -The staff were super friendly and accommodating

Thoughts: -Our sons' room was OK, small 2 twin beds room, had a slight sewage smell. My boys didn't care and barely smelled anything, but I'm pretty sensitive to smells -We were not a fan of the toilet hose and not being able to flush toilet paper down the toilet, but I understand if this is an island issue -I would ask that the turndown staff to be aware of closing the door while doing turndown or during the delivery of snacks as it lets the mosquitos in

Only thing was that the buffet could have offered more breakfast options. The omelettes were the most appealing we thought

A small boutique style hotel with exceptional staff and attention to detail. Complimentary cookies, drinks, bags etc are a nice touch. Happy Hour on the rooftop is the best place to be at the end of the day. Followed by a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The staff here are impeccably trained and go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel like you are staying with family.

We had an amazing stay at the Funny Lion. The onsite facilities were great - two pools, another two plunge pools on the rooftop and three restaurants / bars, which served delicious cocktails and food. The staff were really welcoming, warm and helpful and made our stay 10/10. The hotel is located a 15-20 minute walk out of town in a quiet area. Really easy to walk or get a taxi from here so the location was a positive. It was partners birthday during our stay and they left balloons and cake in our room. We also booked a candle light dinner to celebrate and this was set up beautifully and the 4-course menu was delicious. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

The staff were exceptionally attentive, friendly and helpful especially Phillip, Elf, Anton. The 'Bandi' treat (sweets/ cookies) we got every evening was also a nice touch eg cashew nuts with caramel/ choc cookies. This was especially nice before the evening meal when we're peckish. The views from the rooftop bar was nice especially at sunset and the food at the Hunt restaurant was good quality albeit not the cheapest.

The sliced fruits in the jar we got as part of the welcome in the room in the morning however tasted off. I mentioned this to the staff and manager and they said its because of the sugar they mixed with the fruits but it tasted sour and looked sticky. They replaced it but the same happened to the fruits in the second jar. So maybe they were leftovers from the breakfast as it didn't taste fresh. I would suggest they serve fruits another way or serve fresher fruits.

The near perfect friendliness, warmth and positive vibes the staff here have are in our opinion the best so far, even surpassing more expensive hotels by miles. And if all their branches have staff this friendly, we will definitely stay at the other two as well. The food on the menu is a tad adventurous but what they do offer does taste really good.

Luckily we didn’t get a room on a higher floor cause they do not have elevators here, the rooms are being cleaned with the doors wide open leaving space for bugs to come in and bite you in your sleep, we had certain issues during our stay but the staff and management handled the matter amazingly, which we do appreciate. Lastly I do want to note that the laundry service the hotel working with seems to cheap out on the detergent as 3 times I offered a piece of clothing I had with massage oil and it kept coming back the same in an oily state. Once we got back to Manila I sent it off to be laundered at a local laundry shop and it was oil free after the first time. So that needs to be improved or they should work with someone else.

Staff were incredibly friendly—always greeting me by name and happy to assist with anything I needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the décor featured some lovely finishes, especially in the Pride room. While I appreciated the peaceful location of my Savannah room, I preferred the warm wooden touches in the Pride room. The daily fresh drinks in the fridge were a thoughtful and refreshing treat after long days in the heat. Little touches like turn-down sweets and welcome gifts made the service feel especially personal and warm. The rooftop bar was the perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail and tasty snacks while watching the sunset. Overall, a fantastic stay—beautifully executed with attention to detail and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely return.

If you're going to Coron, I would highly recommend staying here! Our stay at The Funny Lion - Coron has been exceptional! The rooms are clean, comfy and modern, the service and staff (especially at the Hunt Restaurant, specifically Cyrnne) are so welcoming and helpful, and the location is a short ride to the main street of Coron, but also offers privacy so that it's not loud at night. The property is very nicely maintained and they are working on improving it even more. The front desk helped us rent motorbikes and coordinated pick-up/drop-off services for our ferry and flight. I had even told the hotel manager (JB) that I enjoyed the fresh cookies they left in our room on the first night and they consistently brought us those same cookies each night. One night, we requested a meal that was not on the menu, and they were able to make it for us - the chef is extraordinary as well. Additionally, one of the staff members (Ian) made us an itinerary when we told him we were riding motorbikes one day - it was a perfect list and every recommended spot was great! It's the little things that made our stay memorable.

Very nice hotel a few minutes by tricycle out of Coron Town. Staff were outstanding!! We arrived on the early flight, they were able to provide us a waiting room before ours was ready at 1400. I am sure that they can't always do this but they did it for us and it was appreciated. I am 60 so appreciate that people look out for my wellbeing. Facilities were very good, lovely breakfast, high quality hotel.

It was all great. As a New Zealander we always have to remember we cannot compare it to our own country. It was higher end cost, but as you are close to the gateway to one of the nicest island areas in the world, it was well worth it. Don't expect fancy tarseal roads, hotel is in a semi rural sitting, you might see a dog or a goat going past the hotel, all part of the ambience. A great place, thanks to all the team at Funny Lion.

We just spent an amazing few days at The Funny Lion Hotel on Coron, and we're still grinning from ear to ear. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like part of the family - they were so friendly and welcoming, it felt a bit like coming home. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with two stunning pools that were perfect for lounging around and soaking up the sun. We spent hours floating around, sipping cocktails and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was insane - we're talking made-to-order omelets, fresh fruit, and all the Filipino breakfast favorites. We were surprised! And the best part? The staff were always happy to refill our coffee cups and make sure we had everything we needed. But the real highlight of our stay was the hotel's restaurant 'The Hunt'. The food was seriously delicious - we're talking tasty local dishes, and drunk fresh, sweet coconut water. We ended up eating there every night, and we were never disappointed. The staff were super knowledgeable about the menu, and they always had great recommendations. Overall, we're so glad we chose The Funny Lion Hotel for our Coron getaway. The combination of amazing service, beautiful facilities, and delicious food made for an unforgettable trip. We can't wait to come back and do it all again!
