The Bacau Bay Resort has a lovely pool, a nice poolside bar and a great restaurant. There is also a private pier where you can watch the sunset, or start your private boat tour around the bay. Staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet and menu will make you happy, even if you are a picky eater. The resort also features a spa area where you can get a great massage for a very fair price.

What turned out to be a bit of a trap was the 800 peso happy hour deal down by the pier. Don't do it, unless you are planning to have lots of drinks. If you go as a group of friends, you'll be charged 800 pesos each even if you only had one drink. Flat fee happy hour means that you pay the 800 and get unlimited (very weak) drinks between 4 and 6 pm. Bad deal if all you want is a G&T to go with the great sunset view.

The staff are fantastic - friendly, engaging and professional. The gardens are mature, tropical and gorgeous - feels like the middle of a rain-forest. The public areas (most of) are in great condition and modern - reception, pool, pool bar and breakfast area. The breakfast and ala carte meal options (from the restaurant and pool bar) were tasty, fresh and provided a sufficient selection. The premier room we eventually stayed in (2023) was spacious and clean. There is a lot of work going on to build new public areas, which holds a lot of promise.

Although undergoing progressive renovation, the accommodation buildings are tired and deluxe rooms are small. Despite the resort being at ~15% occupancy we were shown to a room at the furtherest reaches of the resort. When we asked to upgrade to a closer and bigger room (happy to pay) we were proudly shown to a newly renovated room overlooking the pool - that absolutely stank of rat urine. We refused the room and asked for other options - this took another 24H to sort out. The jetty bar, which should be a great draw-card and was touted as being open by end Sep, was closed… over the four days we stayed at the end of Oct, there was one guy with a hammer doing as little work as possible to bring it up to speed..

I had high expectations when booking and Bacau Bay ended up being beyond what I was expecting! I would highly recommend Bacau Bay to anyone staying in Coron. Staff were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am grateful that they even tracked me down when I had forgotten something in my room after check out. The facilities were also beautiful - we spent a lot of time at the pool/bar. I'd also suggest making use of the spa after a long day of snorkeling. A perfect stay!

Nothing - the hotel was perfect! Though I might suggest booking any snorkeling trips with a different company than the one the hotel uses as several of us had issues with that operator.

We were welcomed by nice staff with welcome drinks. For free breakfast, there’s variety of options (i recommend that you try PANDESAL-the best filipino bread). The room that we had was huge with very comfortable beds and loads of pillows, and the bathroom was also a good size and has great power of shower. The amenities are lovely, there’s a bar near the sea/pier (bacau’s own pier) where you can watch sunset. In the afternoon, they provide all the guests with cookies/simple delights with a card from the owner. Overall, it was a short but sweet and lovely stay. My partner and i had a wonderful time! I would definetely recommend Bacau Bay to my relatives and friends, one of the best resorts i’ve been! Thank you to all the staff!!

- Brilliant staff, so polite and helpful, we felt out of place a little (like royalty) - Beautifull gardens and private access to a dock for a boat trip - Excellent preparation and service on trips - Good breakfast, but not as good as I was expecting for the level of the hotel (3 star quality)

- Clientele: clearly people that want the sterilised version of the Philippines and to be waited on. Mostly affluent people that have no interest in interacting with other guests or even the staff. - Annoying, loud , know it all, affluent international school kids in the pool. - Most parents are not looking after their kids and seem to be more interested in drinking cocktails. Please note, these are only my personal opinions and what we experience in the 2 days stay there....The hotel itself is great.

Loved this resort, food was fantastic, best night sleep we had in the Phillipines was here & the staff were fantastic and friendly. We had one member of staff who was working by the pool who watched my children in the pool to make sure they were safe at all times, brought us water and kept the pool area clean & tidy. We had little complimentary biscuits in our room every evening which the children loved, they also loved all the cats roaming the resort. Breakfast was fantastic, highly recommend staying int here if you’re visiting Coron.

Only negative was the Jetty was out of action.

This hotel is definitely upscale for the area. It's a bit of a hike from Coron Town Center. I love that you can technically not leave the facilities to enjoy everything in Coron, but can also go into town if you want. The staff is attentive and very friendly.

Prices at the resort are a bit higher than if you were to eat, drink, book trips. The hotel is a bit dated. Facilities aren't as clean as an American would expect at a luxury resort. For instance, the shower head was black with mold as well as some of the corners of the shower with mildew. The restaurant windows have not been cleaned in some time as there is an accumulation of bugs and spiderwebs.

Very nice pool and the property is maintained at a very high level. The staff is absolutely lovely and is always right there if you need anything, the reception in particular. We enjoyed the spa as well and would recommend the hot stone massage to anyone, it‘s so worth it! Finally - warm greetings to Mrs. Dane (if we’re not mistaken) for organizing an amazing island hoping trip!

The restaurant is decent by all means, but the morning buffet could benefit from some healthier food options like whole grain bread for example.

Great hotel with spacious rooms and helpful staff. The breakfast and dining options are good. The spa is affordable with professional service. The hotel location is good and not far from the city center. The hotel is coordinating shuttles between airport/ seaport and its facility. The hotel swimming pool is clean and well maintained. It offers a calm space to chill and relax during your day off or after island hopping.

I Liked that it does not feel crowded. we stayed in a really nice, large room. Good value for money. The food is okay, staff is friendly. Had a really nice massage!

I still have not received the 3000 PHP back that was for ‘accidents’, even though the receptionist promised it would be transferred back to us automatically. We have checked out of the resort more than 3 weeks ago, and it is still not on our bank account (even after multiple messages requesting the money transfer). Also, the music of the bar is really loud en bad taste in music
