The Bacau Bay Resort has a lovely pool, a nice poolside bar and a great restaurant. There is also a private pier where you can watch the sunset, or start your private boat tour around the bay. Staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet and menu will make you happy, even if you are a picky eater. The resort also features a spa area where you can get a great massage for a very fair price.

What turned out to be a bit of a trap was the 800 peso happy hour deal down by the pier. Don't do it, unless you are planning to have lots of drinks. If you go as a group of friends, you'll be charged 800 pesos each even if you only had one drink. Flat fee happy hour means that you pay the 800 and get unlimited (very weak) drinks between 4 and 6 pm. Bad deal if all you want is a G&T to go with the great sunset view.

The reception area is very impressive and the staff were friendly. The swimming pool area and bar were very comfortable and the staff at the bar were very helpful. The pier was wonderful with a bar so you could get a drink and watch the amazing sunsets. Also a good location, easy to get Tuk Tuks from reception

It was a little tired and the serivce in the restaurant was very slow. I would have expected better quality food for the standard of hotel, but dont let that put you off, everything else made up for it and we ate out in the evenings.

The staff are fantastic - friendly, engaging and professional. The gardens are mature, tropical and gorgeous - feels like the middle of a rain-forest. The public areas (most of) are in great condition and modern - reception, pool, pool bar and breakfast area. The breakfast and ala carte meal options (from the restaurant and pool bar) were tasty, fresh and provided a sufficient selection. The premier room we eventually stayed in (2023) was spacious and clean. There is a lot of work going on to build new public areas, which holds a lot of promise.

Although undergoing progressive renovation, the accommodation buildings are tired and deluxe rooms are small. Despite the resort being at ~15% occupancy we were shown to a room at the furtherest reaches of the resort. When we asked to upgrade to a closer and bigger room (happy to pay) we were proudly shown to a newly renovated room overlooking the pool - that absolutely stank of rat urine. We refused the room and asked for other options - this took another 24H to sort out. The jetty bar, which should be a great draw-card and was touted as being open by end Sep, was closed… over the four days we stayed at the end of Oct, there was one guy with a hammer doing as little work as possible to bring it up to speed..

My kids stayed there 4d3n. They loved the place, the mangrove, peacefulness…however my kids got travel sickness on their second day right after the ultimate island tour. My son was vomiting and my daughter got a fever, luckily, the hotel was ready, they have medicine, nurse was also available. It was a relieved for me as a mother. I truly appreciate that the hotel and the staff look after and care for their guests. Thank you Bacau.

food delivery in the area (i think in Coron itself) like grab or food panda, is not available, and also internet was poor in the area. Which is very much needed during emergency cases.

I love the aesthetic vibes of the resort and the calmness it radiates. It was several meters away from the town yet still accessible via local transportation. The staff was very helpful and assisted us with our needs. Cookies were delivered to our room every day, which was a nice treat. The breakfast buffet also had very interesting selections. Overall,we enjoyed our stay at the resort.

The resort and the staff were great. I guess it was an unfortunate season for booking since we got caught in a storm during our stay. We were kind of looking forward to the island tours.

Staff well trained and efficient. We liked the beds too. Food was quite fresh and we think the best breakfast we had in Philippines (stayed in 4 resorts similar ratings all) Irah at dinner service was superb and went beyond to make us feel good and recommending the dishes. This resort is about 15 min walk to Coron town but believe me you don’t need to be closer, is just perfect. Tip for future travellers: wear anti mosquito/citronella even for the 2 min walk from the room until reception 😆 haha

It is a Family friendly place that has swimming pool and play area for children and children at heart. It is away from all the noise in the town proper and closer to nature.

Nothing really serious. I booked for a family of 4 and the room had only 2 towels, 2 robes , 2 slippers and the bathroom shower area was flooding and the water was coming out of the glass door and had to request for another bath rug/mat or else the water will come out of the bathroom itself. However, this simple hassle was not really a big deal. You can always message them thru whatsapp or viber to request anything you need for the room since they do not have a telephone for you to call Housekeeping.

I had high expectations when booking and Bacau Bay ended up being beyond what I was expecting! I would highly recommend Bacau Bay to anyone staying in Coron. Staff were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am grateful that they even tracked me down when I had forgotten something in my room after check out. The facilities were also beautiful - we spent a lot of time at the pool/bar. I'd also suggest making use of the spa after a long day of snorkeling. A perfect stay!

Nothing - the hotel was perfect! Though I might suggest booking any snorkeling trips with a different company than the one the hotel uses as several of us had issues with that operator.

Staff are great! Our private tour guide Mon is a nice guy and did an excellent job. He made sure we enjoyed our tours. We also enjoyed jamming with the acoustic band (Ela and Dennis). Our kids got to sing along with them. I like the idea that the hotel has its own pier, such a relaxing place. Our kids enjoyed the playing in the play area and kayaking.

The ladies toilet near the reception is smelly. Maybe needs better maintenance. WiFi connection is not very good.

Pool was large and well kept. Breakfast was excellent (only hotel we stayed in in the Philippines we were able to find oat milk). Had other meals here that weren’t included which were also good. Jetty at the back of hotel is a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. They left daily treats in the room which were delicious! There was live singer by the pool in the evening which was a nice touch.

Tour provider recommended by the hotel was questionable.
