We loved it here! Such a beautiful spot, accessed by a 10 minute boat ride from Teneguiban pier. Rochelle, Vanessa and family were the best hosts - hospitality to the max. Food was excellent and the accommodation was comfortable. The added bonus was the pigs and the goats and the cats and the dogs and the chickens! An absolute getaway - off the grid and as relaxing as it can get

If you’re a peaceful soul looking to take a step back from the world and you’re considering booking this place – just do it! Pack the books you’ve always wanted to read and enjoy your stay with Rochelle, Vanessa, and just a handful (!) of other guests. Playa Encantada truly lives up to its name. About an hour’s drive from El Nido and fairly remote, you’ll experience a few peaceful and beautiful days. (Just keep in mind: there are no shops or ATMs nearby, and getting anywhere else requires extra transport.) Not only will you be surrounded by animals (chickens, dogs, cats, goats, and pigs!), but you’ll also get to enjoy the best food we’ve had on our travels – and especially here in the Philippines. For around 600 PHP per person per meal, you’re getting truly fantastic, freshly cooked, high-quality dishes. We’ve never eaten better. They truly understand how to layer flavors and spices – the fish was an absolute dream. Rochelle, Alberto, and Vanessa’s family are genuinely special and kind-hearted people. We were honestly sad we didn’t book more nights, and we already missed the amazing food on our very first day at the next place. We wouldn’t hesitate to return at the next opportunity. I miss my favorite goat Sicho (?), who loved being scratched on the head.

We loved the resort's location, with our accommodation only a few metres from the beach. Its size, with only three other cottages, gave us the peace and sense of getting away from it all that we were looking for. We loved our 'cottage' with its outdoor bathroom. The wifi was good. But what made our time at Playa Encantada so special was the warmth of the welcome and level of care throughout our stay. Vanessa and her family created such a relaxing environment, provided us with wonderful food, organised trips and transport, that we felt very much at home.

Playa Encantada was, for us, just paradise and there is very little that needs improving. Our bedroom was lovely, but some more storage would have been helpful.

Everything was perfect, Rochelle and her staff made everything to make our stay the best as it could. Bungalow was really spacious, comfortable bed, directly at the beach. It is remote location as we looked for so there was only few tourists and it felt like you have your own private beach. No shops or restaurants near, El Nido is around 1 hour drive so keep that in mind but the food in resort was really delicious and we went to El Nido only for the boat tours wich you can also arrange with Rochelle.

The access road to the resort, last 30 min is dirt road, pretty bumpy but we didn't mind that as we didn't need to use it every day.

This resort is such a beautiful little slice of paradise. Taking a boat over to your own private beach is a great way to start the trip. Once there you have a small coral reef just off the shore perfect for snorkeling. The rooms are also really comfortable and beautiful with nice beds and a lovely area out front to relax. It is the perfect place to disconnect and unwind. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful and the food is also really delicious. We couldn't have really asked for more at the price. There is also WiFi at the property contrary to what other reviewers have stated.

Very minor complaint but there was limited storage in the rooms and no hand towels in the bathroom. There is work happening currently but we didn't find this disruptive to our stay.

It was just perfect! I stayed with a friend for a week. If you look for a quite beautiful place this is it. Basically a private beach, best home-cooked filipino food, the most friendly hosts and a bungalow located right at the beach. Water is super clear for swimming. We also did an Island hopping tour and all arrangements were coordinated from the staff, everything was exceptionally well arranged! Though we were honestly even more thankful to come home to this secluded spot after a day in El Nido area... We extended our stay and as I am living in the PH it will definitely be on my lost of places to visit again!

Only thing to notice - you are quiet off from all transport etc. So, if you want to get around transport costs are an additional to keep in mind, but Vanessa was a champ in organizing everything smoothly!!

We had the best time ever at playa Encantada, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We took a day trip to Darocotan Island from the resort for 2,000 php, this is definitely worth doing as the sea is crystal clear and there is a ship wreck you can snorkel around. The food served at the resort was amazing and reasonably priced. My partner is fussy but there were 3 or 4 different options including a meat dish, we loved every meal we had. The sunsets at the resort were out of this world. For one day we hired a moped for 700php from the resort and drove into el nido, this was a long trip but we managed fine on our first go on a moped. We weren’t expecting any wifi at all with the remote location, however we managed to get some in our bungalow which was an added bonus.

The gentlemen responsible for maintaining this splendid location and operating the boat service to the village have consistently demonstrated exceptional helpfulness, with punctuality as precise as the roosters that crow every morning at the same hour. I have visited many beautiful places, yet what distinguishes this location as the most beautiful, special, and extraordinary of all is the dedication of the individuals who work here. Please Note: Only your eyes will truly appreciate such beauty. It is advisable to set aside your mobile phone. I would like to extend my gratitude to Vanessa once again. She possesses extensive knowledge, invigorates the region, and boasts an impressive network of contacts. Should you require a motorbike, car, or tuk-tuk, Vanessa can arrange transportation for you in a matter of minutes; she can also recommend the best agency for touring the island. Playa Elcantada is a slice of paradise where everything is simply perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt an incredible sense of warmth and hospitality from Vanessa and her wonderful family. Vanessa truly goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels at home, and her efforts made our stay extraordinary. The resort itself is a charming, cozy haven surrounded by nature. One of the most magical aspects is the way animals freely roam around the property—dogs, chickens, cows—it felt like stepping into a serene countryside sanctuary. Waking up to this unique setting was an experience we’ll never forget. We were especially lucky to be invited by the lovely Filipino family running the resort to join their traditional New Year’s celebration. It was such a special evening filled with fantastic food, joy, and heartfelt moments. Being part of their family traditions made the experience even more meaningful and unforgettable. Playa Elcantada is truly a place where everything comes together—beautiful surroundings, delicious food, incredible hospitality, and a deep sense of connection to both nature and the local culture. We can’t recommend this gem enough and can’t wait to return!

This was the best place we stayed at during our 2 weeks trip. The location is amazing, it was exactly what we wanted - you are on a small island, there are only 3 bungalows, so it felt very private. We were right next to the sea, there was a beautiful garden there, palm trees, animals and a lots of space to hang around. The bungalow is comfortable, it had everything we needed. It’s also beautifully decorated, everything is very well thought through in case we needed anything (lamp, books in the drawer etc). It was really clean and we had housekeeping every day. Very very pretty room! A piece of art as for me :) Rochelle was so genuine and friendly, she runs the place very professionally. We had a great chat with her, she had given us some tips as to what we can do and see and just in general we learnt a bit about Filipino life. There is literally nothing close by so we ate at Rochelle’s place but we were aware this will be the case and we thought the food was excellent, good value for money. It was various, fresh, healthy, good portions, and we were able to try Filipino dishes. It was excellent as well as how the food was presented and how much attention we had received from the stuff. Rochelle can also organise the popular A B C D tours if needed. There is an opportunity to visit Daracotan island - it was a 15 min boat trip, it was a great experience. There is a ship wreck you can see, beautiful sea life, sandy beach.
