Unique and quiet accommodation, with a good use of space on the property with the decor and facilities. Our door was not working and the staff provided a resolution quickly. We received good service the whole time we were here.

We loved our stay here but some design choices left us puzzled. The door to the toilet had no lock, could not be shut fully without constantly pressing on it, and had a hole in the door to allow one's finger to slot through to open. This was quite disturbing when sharing the room and one had to use the toilet. Secondly the mirrors at the sink are via multiple small mirrors scattered around the wall, and we have pretty average height, which meant we could not see ourselves in the mirror unless we squat and duck to the side of the sink.

I recently stayed at this property and was disappointed with several aspects of my experience. First, the temperature of the pool water was freezing, making it nearly impossible to enjoy a swim. The limited number of sunbeds was another issue—there weren’t enough, and even then, they diddnt havemattresses for all. To make matters worse, the sunbeds are made of concrete, which is far from comfortable if you don't have a mattress. To get out/ in you have to pass in front of the restaurant, which felt awkward and uncomfortable with outside people around. In my room, the shower pressure was a major issue. The outdoor shower didn’t work at all, and the indoor one had very low pressure, making it difficult to enjoy a proper shower. Privacy was a concern, too. Despite the large windows, I had to keep the curtains closed most of the time to avoid being seen, which took away from the experience. I also noticed cobwebs and dust throughout the room, indicating a lack of cleanliness. Lastly, the toilet seemed to be designed for giants, which was very uncomfortable to use.

The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable—probably some of the best I’ve ever experienced. The room itself was also huge, offering plenty of space to move around. The overall complex is well-maintained and beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, making the stay more pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rio do Prado. It is a pretty unique place with a very good eco-design concept at its relaxing country location. Very close to the fabulous beaches and lagoon of Foz do Arelho (driving distance about 20 minutes). The bedrooms are quirky but not in any way unwelcoming. We slept beautifully in our Superior Suite room. The outdoor pool is very relaxing, and the indoor areas (very good libraries) are very good. Breakfast was very good; dinner at the hotel is good with some fine vegetarian options. Wine selection is good and the hotel and restaurant staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful establishment, with stunning rooms and overall ambiance. Great breakfast. Majority of the staff is extremely nice (especially the reception team). Restaurant is good with a solid menu. All in all one of the best stays we have experienced. Next time we are in Portugal we will definitely try to include this in our itinerary again.

My one negative thing to say is that while the restaurant prices are quite standard for the level of quality, I feel like the snacks and cocktails menu goes a bit over the top (initial sin being that objectively not all cocktail’s can have the same price and the prices are not really proportionate to the restaurant menu.

Amazing place to get away during the winter (and probably during summer time). The place itself is amazing. The spaces, the decoration, and all the ambiance are fantastic. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is so good and the restaurant is a must go.

A beautiful and magical hotel, located near Chiado. An ecological hotel completely immersed in greenery, the buildings are made of concrete, iron and wood and the furniture is recycled and everything is so calm and pleasant. Extraordinary design, excellent service, beautiful and spacious rooms. Excellent and beautiful complex.

I think they could be more attentive about late check out hours. It’s a hotel to go on a romantic escape, check out at 12pm is very early when you choose this hotels for a couple retreat. Called the front desk and they gave us 30 Mn of late check out, a petty… when they have check-in at 4 pm.

Very special property, interesting architecture, the fire place was great, the concept was cool.

We didn’t get any explanations: about the place about how breakfast works about what facilities are available. We felt completely ignored upon arrival, the hotel even hung up the phone on us when we called to ask a few things. On our last day with a different staff member things looked very different but we were already leaving sadly

Our stay in Rio do Prado was an unexpected very needed surprise. After a week camping in a music festival, Rio do Prado was like an oasis of comfort, quiet and impeccable service. The common areas are beautiful and inviting and perfect to lose yourself in a good book. The food is delicious and inventive and we had no reason to leave the property for the entire duration of our stay, and we don’t regret it. We booked another stay before checking out!
