The location. The room. The hotel itself.

The receptionist was nice. However, he had indicated that I could drive up to the hotel (WHICH WAS A BAD IDEA). The roads are ridiculously small and steep. And during the day time it's packed with tourists. Swerving around tourists and pedestrians was a terrible experience. And was lucky no one was injured. Surely the hotel staff should have known this and just told me not to drive to the hotel. The hotel should really educate their staff! Additionally, the same receptionist told us it was possible to walk the city walls at night. This is a receipt for disaster as the walls are not well lit. And one wrong move could lead you tumbling down the wall and onto the ground 5m below!!!

Surprisingly, the most comfortable bed we encountered on our trip and a good bathroom with a tub!. A very good deal (for a $100 room). Well located just within the walls a short distance from free parking.

Difficult to drop off luggage - ultimately left the big bags in the car and carried a backpack for the single night.

Obviously, the hotel is difficult to get to, but I knew that going in and simply relaxed as much as I could during the process. However, once situated, the location is awesome. Since you have only 10 rooms, perhaps hiring someone to text him/her as they are about to arrive in town and meeting them in the big lot by Pastelaria Arcos lot would be very helpful. Guiding folks from there would immeasurably make checking in easier.

The location was perfect to see the town - we arrived by bus and walked with our small bags to the hotel which was very convenient. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choices, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Due to a mistake in booking on my part, we had to switch rooms during our stay and the staff could not have been more helpful or gracious. The queen room was beautiful beyond compare, with windows with a little view of the town and the old city walls. The bed was big and comfortable, everything was very clean. I would highly recommend!

No complaints at all

The location was great! The staff was friendly. The room was large, comfortable, and clean. We were able to explore the medieval charm of Óbidos as much as we wanted.

The Wi-Fi needed to be more consistent. It only worked in parts of the room. There's a no-cars ordinance on the stone street to the hotel. Both of these inconveniences are understandable, as the historical nature of the town and property are the cause–but also the reason we ventured here.

Very lovely cozy hotel right in the heart of the fortress wall and town. Has just started its own restaurant.Staff lovely and helpful. Room with a balcony and bed was comfy.

Rooms were a little noisy. We were put in a room next to family of two rowdy teenagers so ear plugs needed. The restaurant was needing some homely additions of heat and tableware but the burgers were great.Parking inside walls is a no go so pack a small suitcase as you have to walk for a while after parking outside.

Excellent position within the walls of the town. Easy to access restaurants and shops. Lovely small hotel with good buffet breakfast.

Obidos is a town of hills and cobbles. I felt slightly unsafe when it rained as I have dodgy hips. The hotel also has alot of stairs to climb to and from reception and to the bar area for breakfast. There was an odd arrangement in the bathroom with 2 shower cubicles which weren't really big enough and a tiny loo cubicle, again not big enough. Yet the actual size of the bathroom was big enough for one good sized shower cubicle and toilet. Otherwise it was a nice place.

Beautiful, clean, great location close to bus stop and inside the walled city. Beds very comfortable, bathroom well appointed, breakfast very nice with lots of choices and staff is great.

Our room was a wee bit musty when we arrived, but opening the door to the terrace gave it a fine airing - no problems after that

All was good. Better to park at the front side of the fort since its closer.

The location is easy to access from both of the recommended parking areas outside the city walls and 2 restaurants that we had chosen (Jamon Jamon and Book & Cook). Check in was smooth. We stayed in the apartment, which I highly recommend for families. There were 2 bedrooms, a small living room, a large dining room surrounded by glass, and kitchen. It was bright and charming. I think the unit might be rented hostel style at times, because the bathroom had both a room with 3 toilet stalls and a shower room with 3 shower stalls. The large countertop and multiple sinks were appreciated. Beds were firm. Breakfast was delicious (eggs, bacon, yogurts, fruit, cereals, pastries). The city is easy to walk and explore and shopping was fun. Obidos was one of our favorite stays on our trip.
