It's very clean and bed was comfy,. It suited my budget and as a point at which I wanted to stop driving. I was told there were restaurants nearby but I couldn't find any open--it was a Sunday -- heading towards Aquacadouro; so I headed back to Apulia and found a chingurito and other places on the beach. The area is a delta with a lot of agricultural concerns. To me I think of Motel 6 vibe. Clean. No frills. Visit Barcelos if you're in the area.

It wasn't really near anything but I doubt you'd be staying there if you didn't have a car.

The hotel is ran by family. Sergio was one of them. Very Friendly and helpful. Loan me a bicycle for my camino. Drive me to restaurants, villa mendo for dinner and fetch me back. Btw, its a good restaurant!! Always greeted with smile and ready to help. Made me feel cosy, safe and like at home. Rooms and towels were change everyday. Toilet wash everyday! Theres a pool table in good condition to play for free Aircon working great! Room is spacious. Bed is comfy. Water heater works very well and fast to temperature i want! Water flow is very good! Buffett breakfast and ask for the aromatic expresso! Near to beach( a bar is available there) and Estela golf course

No dinner but they help u to order pizza or burgers. The pizzaria deliver piping hot and delicious pizzas! On time! You pay of course.

The proprietors and staff were so kind and welcoming. The room was comfortable and sparkling clean. I was offered a sandwich and coffee in the evening, which I gratefully accepted, as I was very tired after a long day on the Camino. Sitting on the front porch with these refreshments was so peaceful and relaxing. In the morning, the buffet was very filling and varied. This hotel is not only a great bargain, but one I consider exceptional! There was no problem leaving my luggage in the morning for the transport company. The day of my arrival, I walked 7 miles on the litoral by the ocean from Vila do Conde and then veered off through dirt roads and farming community to reach Route 13, requiring a 15 min walk on a busy 2 lane roadway, but this posed no problem. I'm a senior solo female traveler. Do yourself the favor and give Hotel Contriz a try! They take great pride in what they do, and it shows!

This is a very well maintained and spacious hotel. The bed very comfortable and the bathroom the best I've encountered whilst in Portugal. It is a little of the Camino by about 2.5km but worth the walk as the staff really look after you. We were too exhausted to go anywhere else but that wasn't an issue as the staff ordered us a pizza and we could purchase drinks from their bar. In the morning we were dropped back to the Camino path. I'd highly recommend.

It would have been a better breakfast if fresh orange juice was served rather than cordial.

This family run hotel was great and we were made very welcome. Having walked from the Camino coastal path the owner gave us a lift to and from a local restaurant for our dinner, which was lovely. The rooms were ideal for what we wanted. Breakfast was fine, and we were given another ride back to the Camino path. We could not have asked for a better place or the service provided.

Beautiful hotel. We had one of the huge new rooms. We were really tired from our Camino walk that day. I chatted with the host in the dining room. He made me a coffee and said we could order pizza delivery which was great, we were tired. Found out the restaurant was closed. He saw how tired we were and made us grilled ham & cheese with wine and beer. I told him to be sure to add it to the bill. Next day, he had made arrangements to drive us back to the Camino trail, I looked at the bill and he had not charged us for the dinner ♥️. Excellent hotel!

The most amazing family ever that owns and runs the hotel. So kind, very clean and nice simple breakfast. Simple but large rooms, nice bathroom. Nice meal area and right across the rd from the weekly Sunday Market. Close drive to the beaches and other areas and only a half hour to Braga. Evening time was met with "Pai" making hot chocolate milk for us. So thoughtful :).

Wouldn't have minded a couch or couple of sofa chairs in the room, but it was fine as we only sleep there anyways.

The staff was UNBELIEVABLE! They were so friendly and helpful. I felt very welcomed as a solo traveler. They even helped me by placing my pizza delivery order and escorted the delivery person to my room, for safety and security.

The location was a bit tricky as a Camino pilgrim but that is so minor. I can’t really find anything wrong about this place.

It was large and comfortable and the proprietor was very kind. He drove us to and picked us up from a nice restaurant nearby and then drove to the start of the Camino a few kilometers away.

It was off the Camino and through cobblestone paths between farms. It was very cool to be there, but a hard extra distance at the end of the day of walking. Otherwise, we liked it a lot!

This hotel is exactly what you need after a long day on the Camino—a hot, long shower awaits you. The place is very clean, and the breakfast is nourishing (the variety of teas made us very happy). Everyone at the reception was incredibly kind, attentive, and fun.

There were a few flies around, but if they solve that issue, they would be beyond perfect.
