Well, my opinion will certainly be different from most of the other travelers because I’m the 69 year-old woman. My husband was having surgery nearby so I decided to try a hostel, like I used to do all over Europe in my 20s. 😅 The property itself was great. Really good location, felt safe and clean, etc.

It was my choice to stay in a hostel versus a hotel so this isn’t necessarily the hostel’s fault. I chose a room with four women. My only complaint is I slept on the bottom bunk, as requested, and it was so, so very tight. The room was in a slant so it was what is called “too close for comfort”.

Overall we liked the N1 hostel apartments, the room was nicely decorated, we had a nice bathroom, good view out the window, friendly hosts, everything generally clean.

Got funny patches on our skin on the second day. A day later we realised there may have been bed bugs. We were lucky that the bugs did not come back to our next hotel and also to our home. If it wasn't for the bed bugs, the apartments would have been very good. We wish patience to the hostel owners.

It seems like a new building. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The staff was also super friendly and helpful.

The kitchen was completely closed in the morning as in the door was locked so I wasn't able to get hot water for coffee or sit and eat my breakfast before going off on the Camino. The lights go out every few minutes so you have to keep pushing the switch if you need light to do anything. Also, I know this isn't in the hostels control but there's a shop before the hostel. There was 1 guy always outside that I walked by many times. In the evening there was a group of men who were cat calling me. Luckily the hostel was right there but I felt uncomfortable and would have been scared if it was dark as I'm a solo female traveler

- aircon! - white bedsheets - very comfortable and new hostel! - area to socialise inside and outside - perfect for pilgrims but also for regular travelers - staff speak great English

- awkward entrance - I couldn’t find it - one bathroom for 2 dorms - I needed to queue for the shower, but it was worth it - 10 min walk from a shop, but there are many bars 2 min from the hostel

Nothing is missing, everything is beautifully organized, whole facilities are perfectly maintained are kept clean from the entrance to the backyard, lobby, corridors, bathroom and our bedroom, etc. What impressed me most is the hospitality and lovely smiles of the staff. It's so comfortable that I want to live here, but I have to leave today and head to the next destination of my pilgrimage. Obrigado.

The albergue is a very modern design where the architect has prioritised design over practicality. The staff are super friendly and we were given a four bunk room to ourselves.

There was one shower and toilet for two rooms so if someone was using the shower you had to wait to use the toilet. The bathroom door is glass and doesn’t lock so you can see through the door so didn’t feel very secure for a woman. The lighting in the room is very gloomy so you can’t see to pack your things.

It was very clean. Front desk attendant was helpful and efficient. Security was very good.

The shared bathroom door could not be locked. There was no place to wash or hang our dirty clothes. The bar area was very noisy, especially when there were a few people there.

The place looks a little institutional, but the welcome was very warm and personal. Easy access at any hour. 12 o'clock checkout. Fresh, comfortable bedding.

As mentioned, it's a modern concrete building with a slightly forbidding outward appearance.

- I asked about getting food delivered and was told such a service didn't exist, but I was able to get a pizza delivered after looking online. - The room got hot quickly and the controller for the Aircon wasn't there. Reception had already closed.

The hosts were amazing. So polite and friendly. Checked in a little later than usual due to flight delays without any hassle. Everything was explained to us with extra detail.

The lighting wasn’t much but this could be due to the renovations that were happening.
