Had a brilliant experience staying at Storytellers palace for 2 nights. The hotel is stunning, completely unique and you feel at home when staying there as it doesn’t have many rooms. I like the authors naming of the rooms too. The bar and pool was pleasant and it’s nice to get away from the main beach to some quietness by the pool to cool off. The staff were all friendly, attentive and always there to help. Will definitely be returning shortly! Thank you very much

This is a small hotel right on the sea front with nice balcony bar with views over the bay. We arrived on a Sunday and parking was impossible as the town was packed with locals having a day at the beach. I double parked in a small side street and after getting our luggage one of the staff walked to a gate and opened it for me to park the car. There was a 10 euro charge but it was worth it. We were given a warm welcome by the staff and the owner, Marco. We went to the bar where Marco was relaxing with some friends and we were immediately included in the conversation. We visited the restaurant for dinner and really liked the menu. Food was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The service was great as was the bottle of wine the waiter helped us select. Breakfast was all fresh with great breads, meats, cheeses and pastries.

We arrived and I thought that we did not have to room that we booked, a deluxe double with side sea view. The room was small and the partial sea view would have involved standing on a ladder. I mentioned this and Marco came and upgraded us a to larger room but no sea view there was a very small add on charge but he included breakfast. Not such a big deal as we were able to change rooms without any hassle.

Re he building and rooms were gorgeous, the location right across from the beach, but the staff was the best. They made our trip so memorable.

Loved it

Our second stay at the hotel and it was like coming home! We could not have been happier with our stay. Wonderful to see Marco and Ni again and all the lovely staff who work there - we can't wait to come back. Very comfortable rooms and lovely dinner when we arrived. We were even indulged in some wine tasting in advance of an event they had planned there.

Nothing - it is PERFECT!

Francisco really made this stay special for us! He was the sweetest concierge we encountered on our two week trip to Portugal. He hand wrote us wonderful recommendations of things to do in the area, was so kind and we really appreciated him. The hotel is beautiful the food was fantastic - definitely plan to eat there while staying. Great visit!

A great welcome of Marco, Ni and staff! Storytellers Palace is a real good choice for a stay in São Martinho do Porto. Located at the beach you are 2 steps away of getting your feet in the sea. Hotel has beautiful interior, good beds and great kitchen. Breakfast is extraordinary. Well done and thanks for staying!

Nothing, just book it!

Location was amazing with it being within 50 feet from the beach. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. There is a small pool on the property but we didn’t take advantage of it with the beach being right there.

Everthing was perfect, this is a really special hotel. We especially liked the care taken with the decor and all the staff were super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really special too. I would stay again without hesitation. HIGHLY recommend!

This hotel is in a beautiful location, right on the sea shell shape beach. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and very welcoming, patient and understanding, it felt like you were staying with old friends. Our room and bathroom was comfortable and had a lot of charm, we stayed in the F. Scott Fitzgerald room, not facing the sea but still quiet and comfortable and clean. We chose to have dinner at the Green Room, the restaurante within the hotel, all just delicious with vegan options included. They had vegan options available for breakfast too. 5 stars Highly recommend, and a very special place to stay.

This is a very special boutique hotel in a very special place in Portugal. The restaurant is exceptional and well deserving of the Michelin star they are about to receive. The staff is both multi-lingual and most welcoming. We will be back and encourage all our friends to do so,
