The breakfast was excellent and the location was unbelievably picturesque, not to mention conveniently close to everything a person visiting could need. I nedded to shelter myself from the rain on my last day in Viana do Castelo and, even though I had checked out, the staff not only let me leave my luggage there in my attempt to walk about the city, but also let me stay a while until the weather got better. The weather didn't improve but I was welcome in the hotel, regardless!

We needed to leave before the formal breakfast started at 8, so we were VERY appreciative that we were allowed to enjoy the food set out (pastries/yogurt/meat/cheese, coffee & juice) around 7:15. The gentleman who opened up the breakfast area was kind & helpful. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and ALL of the staff were just lovely. They had everything you'd expect in a nice hotel, but it was much more charming. Additionally, the rooftop view was spectacular. I might add that we were walking the Camino & this was a "treat" stop for us. Despite being sweaty and tired when we arrived & probably looking a bit scruffy compared to most of their guests, everyone was SO nice to us!

We actually liked everything, but wished we realized they had an elevator before walking up three flights of stairs!!

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was perfectly located in the center of Viana do Castelo. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

I travelled with a friend, and it looks like the hotel has some rooms where there's no door to the bathroom. If I was alone it would have been fine, but being with a friend it would have been nice to know in advance and being given the opportunity to choose another room. Breakfast was ok - a bit basic, but had the essentials.

Room and staff were very good. Rooms need coat hooks or a few more hangers.

This hotel is great, in one word. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has two faces, old Historic part and the other side where the rooms are the new modern part. Everything is clean, good wifi and Breakfast is complete. And on top, it is in the middle of beautiful center Viana do Castelo

Nothing to complain

The hotel is in a great central location, but still quiet and very relaxing. The building has been very well refurbished, maintaining original features such as tiles, staircase, handrail, etc. My room was large and very comfortable. The bed, pillows and the bed linen were outstanding. Breakfast was very good with good variety and quality produce. The highlight was the staff, who were incredibly helpful, professional and nice. I also loved the hall close to the reception with a display of antique objects from this fabulous region and city. I will definitely stay here again.

Welcome from man on reception, with details of history of the building. Great guide to the town. Pleasant modern room, fully equipped.

Shower didn't drain properly (was assured it will get fixed). No chair or table on balcony.

we really liked the building's combination of old-historic and new-modern. All the staff were very nice and accommodating. The massages were wonderful! The beds very comfortable.

disliked is exagerated: it was just a pity that the breakfast was exactly the same for each of the 5 days, e.g. instead of sliced grocery cheese something regional would have been great - this just as a suggestion. And a hint for all that care for sustainability: if you don't want your sheets being changed every day, ask for it at tthe reception upon arrival 🤗

Comfortable beds, interesting interiors with an older more traditional side and a new/modern side of the hotel. The massage I got at the spa was excellent. The people at the front desk were very kind and helpful.

Pool area wasn’t very welcoming or fun- just some stacks of heavy plastic chairs that were stuck together. The view from the roof was awesome, though.
