The location is nice, with a view to the Lima river. Though a bit to the side, the centre is within about 10 minutes' walk. The staff is friendly. And it is quiet. Breakfast is fine, though you can't say very rich, but more than enough. The room was spacious (double room with a bathroom), and a nice balcony as well. No air conditioning but a powerful fan did a good job. The only thing that bothered me were the mosquitoes. A mosquito net somehow would make the place perfect for budget travellers. I recommend it.

They let me check in at 3.30pm (early), 4 bed female dorm with free towel provided (only 2 of us in it). There was a kitchen with a cooktop. Living room had TV with movies in English. Shower gel in shower. Paper towels in bathroom. Individual light by bed. Cotton sheets and a duvet provided. Great breakfast (bread rolls and bread for toast, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, bananas, oranges, yoghurts, several cereals, jams and honey, teas, coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice). Room had an outdoor patio and a wardrobe each with one coat hanger each person. Room was quiet. Location good for Coastal Camino Portuguse (camino goes left as you come off Ponte Eiffel but hostel is to the right about two blocks).

Lots of showers available but water and lights on very short timers. Only a few power outlets in room and they were not next to bunks.

The architecture in this building is stunning. We were gobsmacked - the stairs, the hallways, the kitchen where you have breakfast, it is all fabulously kept and so well designed. If you are in anyway interested in architecture you will love it here. Rooms were warm but well furnished, with nice views over the river.

The room was a bit warm, and it was a long walk to the other side of town from the historic centre.

as we were only able to find a bedroom with shared bathroom, the toilets were a bit far from our room specially when having to use them during the night, as well as the kitchen which was downstairs. a water station or two around the building would be great

We were swimming in a nearby river. Terrace is great for an evening drink. The shop is not far away.

Breakfast is too late for peregrinos.

4 night stay. Spacious twin room with awesome shower. We placed duvets ontop of the mattresses, so it made the beds more comfy. Balcony had views of park and river. Breakfast was cold continental, and plenty of it. There has been a second gas hob installed since the pictures were taken. Youll need a lighter. No oven, but a microwave. Parking right outside, and only a 10 minute walk into the main city. Not many guests during our stay, so it was quiet in the building.

The side of the hostel where our room was, was next to a cobbled road, and it was pretty noisy as cars went by into the early hours and from around 6am. Take earplugs.

Everything was perfect!! Friendly staff, super clean, lightful and welcoming building, with a nice garden and all facilities. Breakfast was amazing. Less than 10 min walking from the centre for a nice walk :)

Pity that there is no laundry room available, but there is a self-service one at 5/10min walking distance, so not a big issue after all!

Good place to stop and have a rest day along the Camino. Spacious rooms, balcony, reasonably comfortable beds, short walk into town. Breakfast was basic but adequate considering the price. Staff were friendly and helpful, 24 hour front desk also convenient.

Washing facilities on site would have been nice, closest laundromat is about 10-12 minutes walk. Shared kitchen facilities were a bit run down but still useful.

Great location, easy to find, very respectful and kind staff and amazing view. Breakfast included in price is very simple, yet sufficient. A bit aged bathrooms, but well kept and clean (you should take bathroom flipflops no matter how the place is clean, so your camino pilgrimage doesn't give you athlete's foot as a souvenir). Just make sure you have dinner before 8 pm, then the life in Viana do Castelo doesn't exist.
