Impecáble attention to detail, clean, safe, in front of the beach, kind and helpful staff. Family friendly. Next to everything you could possibly need. A kind community right on the Camino De Santiago where you Will witness a different quality of life and a noteable sense of family and community enjoying eachothers company and the wonderful resources surrounding their simply rare and quality lifestyle. This is my go to place to disconnect from the rat race and feel like myself again. Highly recomended by Emma From Seattle, WA USA. Thank you kind people of Âncora.❤️ Oh, and huge convenience …. The train is a few feet away from the hotel. Its só easy and cheap to get here from Porto AirPort. 🌈

That I had to leave!

It was central located to everything I wanted to do. The staff was very helpful. We were there on a Monday and most of the restaurants were closed for dinner. They did recommend one that was very close by and the food was delicious, Âncora Mar. it was expensive, but we saw that on the menu when we sat down and decided to stay. We’re glad we did and we’re glad the staff sent us there. We didn’t check out until later in the morning. Still before checkout time but later than we usually leave. The morning staff was also equally helpful and attentive to our needs.

This lovely hotel is located in front of the beautiful beach of Vila Praia de Ancora. The hotel is located by many restaurants and cafes catering to all tastes and budgets. My room was very comfortable equipped with a desk (I really like that), very clean and functional. The bathroom has a very nice shower which was a bliss after my Camino walk from Viana do Castelo on a hot day. The staff were very charming, efficient and helpful. I would very gladly stay here again.

Great location across the street from the public beach. The beach itself is so-so. My room faced the water and I enjoyed the sound of the waves. The hotel was so quiet and comfortable I overslept. A perfect respite from the Camino. Wonderful town square and cathedral. Restaurants nothing to write home about.

Staff was friendly, could have been more helpful with recommendations. Toiletries could be better. Small complaints, however. Would recommend this hotel.

Great location and our rooms overlooked the sea, which was stunning. Rooms are really spacious and clean. Shower facilities great Lovely to wake up to a view of the sea in the morning

As it is a hotel I had expected at least a kettle in the room, and water. After a day walking the Camino it was disappointing to arrive, and then have to go out to get water, and for tea;/coffee

Don't judge a book by it's cover! Walking up to the front of this facility, I had my doubts, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Great location along the beachfront and near restaurants.

We were walking the Camino, and got up early to hit the trail. There was no breakfast offered and we had to leave our luggage in the lobby, outside of the reception desk area until staff arrived.

The reception lady was exceptional - she called a lot of restaurants for us to help us find a place to eat. Very kind person! The room was nice, we could watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks from the bed. The hotel is also located riverside, amazing view walking outside.

A/C heat only worked for a few minutes (and after every restart). It wasn’t freezing cold but little more heat would have been nice.

Honestly? I liked having an elevator!! It had been a long day on the Camino and we were beat when we got there. It was such a treat to not have to carry our luggage up stairs to get to our room. Also, the location was perfect. Right across from the ocean, and the town square with places to eat was right around the corner.

Amazing room with a balcony overlooking the beach. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help with any question or request. Room was very clean.

Unfortunately no parking on-site, but free parking was easily found on street or in public carpark nearby.

The location of the hotel was perfect, right on the Camino and across the street from the beach. It was a short walk to the Cathedral. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us extra hangers since we were pilgrims and washing clothes by hand at night.

They didn't serve breakfast. They had a vending machine. Fortunately a bakery was fairly close and opened early.
