Very clean, lovely room, great foyer and warm. The staff are wonderful and the location is very convenient for transport links. Really, really comfortable and very clean, nice deep bathtub and very warm room despite the raging snow outside when I was there.

It isn't in the prettiest location and not a lot of restaurants or attractions nearby so you'll have to use theirs or go to 7-11, however, you cannot beat it for access to the train and bus stations so that all depends on what you want. You can get everywhere easily enough from there.

I consider myself an uncomplicated person. This place met all the expectations I had. Nice staff, some of them could speak very good english; nice lobby, clean rooms with all needed amenities and everyday housekeeping service (this is something I really appreciate). The location is only a few meters away the main train station and there is also a 7/11 almost next to the hotel. Very nice area and even though you can see the rooms are not modern, it was still a nice place to stay, considering the low price. The even gave us some coupons to use at the restaurant but unfortunately we did not have the time to use them.

If you are looking for modern rooms, this place might not be for you. But if you are an uncomplicated guest and you just want a nice place to stay without paying too much, this is the perfect hotel.

Let me put it this way. I am staying in this hotel almost every year -- once a year.... It is frozen in time. It is getting old. It is getting worn. However, this is normal process of ageing. Breakfast is the same every year, but this is OK as it is a nice breakfast ;-) Team speaks better English every year... which is good....

They skipped discount for the Gaslight Restaurant... this is not nice of them!

I've stayed at the Washington many times, it's my go-to for Aizuwakamatsu. It's nothing elaborate but the rooms are spacious by Japanese standards, it's clean, the staff is pleasant and accommodating (not much English though, Google Translate is your friend), the daily brunch in the cafe is decent, the restaurant on the top floor is nice (try the Aizu tenderloin for a real treat; Aizu beef is legendary), and the hotel is just a 5-minute or so walk from the train station. The rooms are quite plain and utilitarian, but they're comfortable and the prices are good.

Great location - Near the train station, and about 15 minute walk from Mt. Iimoriyama. I rested well at this hotel, thanks to the window shutters and the two pillows. Breakfast was delicious, filling, and somewhat Muslim-friendly - the grilled salmon was delicious (assuming no mirin). Lobby was spacious, beautiful, and decorated with local specialties. Great price for a 3-star hotel.

The vents were a bit dusty IIRC, but no real complaints.

I love the hospitality and warm welcome of the staff. They accommodated us well, although we arrived late, and assisted us with all our concerns since it was our first time in Japan. We will stay there again if we can travel back to Aizuwakamatsu.

What did I like? Hmm, Everything... Location is a short walk to train station and bus center. Staff, always so helpful and polite, Breakfast, so tastefull that we did not feel bored when we stay for 2 nights. Luxury looking lobby, clean room. I wish I had stayed longer. The hotel and little town I already missed.

The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful.The location was ideal for us as we had an early start (5:30am)at the railway station the next morning We only stayed one night and due to our early start we were unable to try their breakfast.

The double room was very small for a couple. If we were staying longer I would have upgraded to a larger room

Very close to station, it has a good restaurant in the top floor with a nice view of the city. The food is made with local products and local dishes are available, excellent!

The building is becoming old and needs a renovation. There was is no onsen in the facilities

Very clean and modern hotel, easily spotted from rail station. Room had a very good view over city and hills. Relatively close to bus and rail station, to car rentals and it is on the routes of the town tourist buses. Supermarket also close by (Lion D'or). Hotel offered vouchers for drinks with meals when dining in the hotel.
