The location is great if you want to be in the touristy area (very close to Dashashwamedh Ghat where the ceremonies happen every night at sunset). But it is also good to know that you will be located in a busy place at times with lots going on (Varanasi style - cows, dogs, monkeys, motorbikes etc). We had monkeys visiting our room window everyday. The window didn't have glass and for that reason it was always open, however it had grills so no monkey could enter the room. That didn't bother us.

For Indian standards, the room was quite comfortable, however the bathroom should be deep cleaned! If the room and bathroom were spotless, the value for money would be great. There is a bird and a dog in the house that would wake us up at night. I hope this is a constructive review so the owners can take action :)

My bed was super comfortable, extended one night as I liked the location and needed the rest. Not my usual hostel but good for the quiet if you don't want to meet anyone.

The dog is a tad noisy in the mornings, my laundry came back not smelling clean, with a couple of items still damp so i have had to redo it. I felt a little pushed by the owner, just about buying things, or requesting massage or yoga... my personal space felt a little bit invaded but his heart is in the right place. Could do with being a little more helpful using a map as that's how I get around, I'd prefer not to have to rely on asking tuktuk drivers.

The location is really good, this property is very near to the ghats, just 2 minutes of walking distance. To reach this place, get to the Dashashwamedh ghat and from the ghat just 2 minutes walk to munshi ghat and take the stairs next to BrijRama Palace hotel. You'll reach the property. The owner of the property Gaurav is really helpful and even provided us with early checkin. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. I would recommend this property to anyone coming to varanasi, even people from various countries prefer this place. The location is near to the prime tourist places.

Switch for geyser was in another room, had to daily tell to have hot water. The bathroom was little small for my taste. Rest everything was good.

Gaurav is a great host, we felt like home. He went out of the way to meet us at night. Our room was on the top floor, so we could also use the terrace near it. The beds are comfortable to my taste, everything was very clean, no insects inside. The bedsheets are clean as well. The hosts cooked a very nice breakfast and were very warm and welcoming. Special thanks for the Christmas party and the treat!

Hot water run out very quickly in the morning. Otherwise no complains.

Location is amazing - in the hart of Varanasi, just around the corrner of Dashashwamedh ghat and around 300 m from river Ganga. Owner is very cooperative, also he offers different packages (like pick up from airport or trip to Sarnath).

Well... my room didn't have window. At least not proper one (there is window but it looks on common sittinng area of property) so there is no fresh air directly. Maybe that's why air in room was a little bit dusty. Also, walls are a bit dirty - definitely need new layer of paint. When I was leaving and later in message owner asked me to rate his place with 10 which is a bit tacky.

Location- though a bit difficult to find ( that’s how Kaashi old city is, very narrow streets) , but near to main attraction points Cleanliness- the room and toilet was very clean Friendly staff - staff Gaurav was very friendly and helpful. Spacious room It’s a family house used as guest house. We felt comfortable to stay.

No toiletries, no hand wash or soap or shampoo available. Not that I complain, but point to note is - if you don’t feel comfortable to walk a lot with heavy luggage or trolleys - it may be difficult for you to get there.

A big shoutout to Mr. Gaurav, the owner and caretaker of the hostel. In truth, I booked a room for my father (a senior citizen traveling alone for the first time to Varanasi) and he was of the opinion that Mr. Gaurav was a wonderful host who looked after his every needs and was forthcoming. The hostel is well located too.

Gaurav and his family are super friendly and will make you feel at home. Location is unbeatable, close to the main ghats. My room was basic (non AC one) but clean and pleasant. I also had the chance to see other rooms and they all seemed very comfortable for when travelling with a group. Highly recommended accomodation, very good value for money!

The owner is quite enthusiastic about recommending various activities, including sightseeing tours, massages, and healing sessions. While it's appreciated to have alternative options, some guests may have pre-established plans, and this persistence can feel a bit overwhelming.

The hostel is conveniently located at Munshi Ghat, very close to Ganges and other places worthy of seeing. You do not need to take a vehicle to see all these locations as all are within walking distance. At first sight, the hostel may not look much as it is located in a very narrow pedestrian-only crowded alley (especially if you arrive with luggage and not backpacks) because it takes some walk from the nearest junction to get there but once you arrive and get over the hectic shock of Varanasi, you begin to appreciate the place. There are small stores on the alley and many other cafes and hostels etc. You can find more upscale restaurants if you walk 5-6 minutes from the hostel as well. The owner Gaurav was an incredibly positive and informative person and we took his walking trip in which he showed us many places along the river and in the labyrinthine streets of Varanasi. The price was acceptable but make sure you are reserving a room with AC. The owner Gaurav can organize your pick-up from the airport and other things. Make sure you arrange a rickshaw from the taxi drop point to the alley if you have luggage. The rickshaw costs 100 rupees and is worth for the luggage.

The hygiene could be improved. Due to small space, toilets have incredibly small sinks and you cannot wash your face properly. Rooms could have been be cleaner and although we used our own bedsheets two of us woke up with bites one day and we suspected bedbugs but we did not see any. The room corners could have been cleaner as we spotted spider webs but this is India anyway and they are common. You need a fan with a stand to be able to use the terrace sitting place because it is too hot and humid. Gaurav supplied the fan when we asked. The ACs worked without problem but now and the you have power cuts and even though the facility has some battery for lighting and power sockets, the ACs did not work during these times. They were not many though.

Very well located as nearby many point of interests from the town. We have been warmly welcomed by the host and his family. The room it self is clean and comfy, the common area upstairs is perfect to relax and meet some other travellers. If you are looking for a place to feel home and quiet to enjoy peacefully your stay this is the one!
