Had a wonderful 2 nights stay in early September. Complimentary afternoon tea was delicious. Excellent location located opposite to the historic quarter which is about 4 minutes walk from hotel. Property is clean. Washer and dryer in the lobby is open 24/7. Staff is courteous and speaks English well enough for basic needs. Highly recommend. We will stay again if visiting Kurashiki in the future.

Fantastic hotel! The location was perfect. The hotel was just a 2 minute walk away from the historic streets and less than 10 minutes from the train station. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were kind and helpful. Would stay here again!

The only thing I was not fond of was the use of paid lockers to store luggage. I didn't mind paying, but I am used to hotels storing luggage free of charge as a part of their service.

I liked that the staff was upfront about when we could have the afternoon tea. We decided to have it right after check-in as we were going somewhere further from the hotel the next day and we don't want to return to do so. Being right beside the historical quarter, it was convenient for us to visit too. Located about 10 minutes walk from the train station, one might want to consider taking a taxi if you don't want to carry your luggage to the hotel

Heard some noises coming from the outside as our room was right beside the emergency exit stairways.

The bed was comfortable, and position excellent. 20 minute slow walk to the station and 5 minutes to the Bikan district. Staff very overworked but were happy to assist. It seemed as though the hotel was understaffed.

Having to climb into a high bath to use the shower. 2 coat hangers only and no drawers for clothing.. hanging for one towel in the bathroom.

The room was the best we have had in our three weeks in Japan. Very spacious and clean. Afternoon tea was excellent - a real English style high tea with quality food and brilliant presentation.

Checkin was a bit confusing as we were told that afternoon tea was not included. I showed my Booking.com confirmation as evidence of what we paid for. No breakfast which I assumed was fairly much standard in most hotels in Japan. I felt that some staff were a little off-hand.

The hotel is in a perfect spot, just a short walk from Kurashiki’s historic city center. It’s also less than a 10-minute walk from the train station, which is manageable even with luggage. The hotel is clean and functional. If you need to store your bags, there are lockers available in the lobby for a reasonable fee (around 500 to 1000 yen, depending on the size).

The wifi could have been better.

We got a larger twin room which was pretty much the same price as smaller rooms at other hotels in the area. We loved it. So comfortable. Plenty of room to relax after a day of sightseeing. Big bath. Large TV. Big beds. A comfortable sofa with footstool. Ice machine, microwave and coin operated laundry on ground floor. The local area is also lovely-clean and close to local traditional area.

This hotel is really comfortable and incredibly good value. It is well-located. It's close to the historical area and has lots of good eating options around. It's about a 10 minute walk to the railway station. Staff were very accommodating and, for us, the facilities were exactly what we needed. Also, if you get a chance, try the afternoon tea - it's great.

Nothing at all. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Our reservation included a surprise high-tea in the afternoon which was very tasty, and a breakfast box in the morning. The lobby is very spacious and tastifully conceived/decorated. The personnel was very friendly. The room was spacious and the hotel location was perfect for exploring the ancient city neighborhood (3 min. walk).

The breakfast box with sandwiches was somehow very simplistic, although you can have as much tea/coffee as you want. Nevertheless, the complimentary high-tea more than compensated the simplistic breakfast.

They provided new guests with a welcome afternoon tea which was lovely. They had a coffee machine that made reasonable lattes.

The coffee machine was only available in the late afternoon. The beds were large single beds. No good for honeymooners or a married couple who, like us, like to cuddle each other at night. Fortunately, we could move the bedside table from between the beds and push them together. Had to make sure, though, that I didn't slip down the crack in the middle at 3am!
