Very close to the tourist center, 5 mins by walk. The room is big, the bed size is large, so sleeping is comfortable. The breakfast has many options and very delicious. Traditional Japanese food, good taste. The staff is very friendly.

Not quite close to train station, more than 10 mins by walk. Since shopping mall and many restaurants are located near train station, so every day walking to the station then going back took a bit long time, specially with shopping bags in the rainy days. Room cleaning service only in the morning. So when leaving the room at noon or afternoon, the room is not cleaned.

The hotel is grand! A feeling of yesteryear! Our room was huge! Every detail was attended to by extremely friendly and gracious staff! The breakfast was very fresh with good variety on offer. Very convenient to the Bikan Historic area. Convenience stores nearby.

Exceptionally convenient location right near the Bikan historical quarter in Kurashiki; very large, comfortable room with lovely, large bathroom; delicious breakfast in the lovely foyer restaurant; and very friendly and helpful staff. In addition to the Bikan historical quarter, the hotel is also next to the Ohashi's house, a beautifully-preserved historical home that is well-worth visiting. It's also next to a couple of fantastic izakaya - I highly recommend "Dada" for dinner, immediately to the side of the hotel. It's also just around the corner from "Taiyaki Honpo", a tiny little shop that makes delicious taiyaki snacks. Highly recommended for the excellent location, comfort and service.

The room was a little tired, with clear signs of wear to the carpet, tatami and some of the wallpaper splitting along the seams.

The hotel is a bit of a hike from the train station but is only a few blocks away from the Bikan historical district. It's an older hotel and near several other hotels. The breakfast was good (pro tip - avoid the rush of guests by going later). We appreciated the room had a copy of the Ohara Museum of Art's guidebook in the drawer. The bathroom was huge - with an area for the shower and a different one for a bath (careful - the water is hot). The elevator was older but had a nice see-thru side giving a view of how high the floor is. Check out was later, so that was appreciated.

The facility is much older than we expected, and slightly high in price given that. We experienced having an actual room key rather than a key card, as other reviews noted. They have the old-time policy of requiring guests to drop off the key at the front desk when they leave the hotel, which is less convenient if there's a line of guests at the front desk. Be careful - it's easy to get lost if walking around the area at night. We went back toward the station to have udon since there weren't too many great options for dinner nearby.

This is an older style hotel and very grand. It had large rooms compared with more modern hotels and a lovely retro feel. It was very clean and comfortable and situated close to the old historic canal district. Our booking included breakfast which was a good buffet style for personal choice. Good value for all this.

The location is just perfect from train station, shopping mall, park, museum, garden. Room atmosphere, spacious, cleaned and quiet to sleep well. Shower, Bath, all good. Breakfast was really good. Parking was allowed. Air conditioning was perfect. View from the room was great.

Everything were just great.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Always smiled and asked how our days were. The room was so clean and large and the beds were super comfortable. We could also open the window a bit which I love in a hotel! The hotel is older but it’s full of charm. I loved our stay here and the location couldn’t be better. Such great value for money.

We had a lovely corner room with lots of space and many amenities. We were very close to the historic quarter and the station. The staff were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was the standard Japanese western/Japanese buffet.

100metres to the old town attractions and shops. Spacious room and bathroom, comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet. Free parking across the road. Friendly staff at reception, entrance and breakfast area.

Would be a good idea to upgrade the television for Netflix entertainment as there is not much to do at night and most shops close early. Offer 1 soft pillow for those who prefer the softer western option.

Breakfast was delicious, I enjoyed the J-breakfast over Western but the buffet was good. The service was warm and helpful.

Breakfast coffee was light but the second day was better.
