Amazing views on the mountains, sea, high bridges of Fredvang. It’s a great location to explore Lofoten! I stayed 3 nights at the 1 bedroom appartement right at the sea with a big terrace & the prices for Lofoten are quite budget friendly! I traveled many times to Lofoten & I would def recommend this place. The apartment looked way nicer than what I expected. Inside freshly painted & very beach-shack-Lofoten vibes style decorated. Shower clean and hot, bed comfy, I cooked up some nice simple meals in the kitchen after outdoor adventures, I did appreciate the very comfy couch in the appartement from where I enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside. It was a great stay! I have meet the manager, Sylwia & she made sure that everything was in order, very friendly! Tusen takk!

I loved my stay but the walls are very thin. It’s a very cool, quaint old wooden building so…For me wearing earplugs (I always do during the night) did the job!

The space in our family room, friendly staff, overlooked the water, close by to some good hikes. Meeting other travellers. For a hostel it had enough facilities i.e 2 kitchens to be able to cook meals, access a table etc.

Water in showers was cold late evening, however was hot at earlier times. There is a restaurant advertised but it was really just a pizza oven facility, didn't see it open, and the sauna needed to be booked so harder to access.Price seemed high compared to some other places we had stayed but maybe that's the area. Weather was dismal so didn't access outdoor tables on balcony

There was some trouble with the WiFi because of a storm before we came, but together with the host we managed to get it working again. The location is stunning and as we had a cabin on the top floor we had great views from the window and the terrace in front of the cabin. It is a great base for exploring the Lofoten islands.

When it get windy (which it got) there can be a bit of a draft, especially through the front door. Of course these are simple cabins with 'character'. We weren't much bothered about it as we prefer fresh air, but this can also push the window closed as there is nothing to keep it set to a fixed place when you open it. Fortunately the temperatures were at a convenient level but we wondered how it would be during other seasons.

This place is incredible! If you want hike spectacular trails, get toasty in a sauna, cold plunge in the ocean, watch the sunset from a hot tub and witness the magical northern lights - then this is the place to do it. It's a little off the beaten path but I still met so many amazing people here. Sylwia, the hostel manager was amazing and very helpful in giving info about the surrounding area. The dorms are spacious, beds are comfortable although on the soft side (that seems standard for Norway), shower and toilets were clean, wifi was fast and reliable. Having two kitchens was great and they had everything to cook a great meal - even a leftovers food basket that always seemed to have lots of pasta. The view from the main kitchen is stunning. I loved my time here to much I extended twice!

The hostel is great, but like I said, it's a little off the beaten path so you need to be prepared. Public transport isn't great in Loften, busses run but very infrequently. The closest shop is 6kms away. If you have a car it'll be easy, but if you're relying on public transport be prepared to wait, walk or hitchhike.

The Lofoten is a very beautiful place and our Cabin was located along a bay. The owner is very nice and warned us in time to view the aurora. Cabin is comfortable and clean; towels and bedlinnen were also clean. We had full control over the heating system which makes one's comfort so much easier especially during harsh weather in the Lofoten. Getting the key was super easy.

Kitchen utensils were a bit outdated; positive was a good oven system. No further negative things

Location was very nice and rooms cozy. A lot of activities for tourists. THE STAFF WAS AMAZING.

There was a really really rude french tourist guide. He doesnt work for the hostel, but for other local tourist firm apparently. He was staying at the hostel and acted like he owned the place. He closed the kitchen before hand, and made it sure that no one used it during 22.00-8.00. But opened it for his own use way before 8:00. Making a lot of noise in there with his group of tourists. Apparently it’s not the first time, and he was really rude when we pointed his behaviour. So if you meet him, just know HE DOES NOT OWN THE PLACE. 👎🏻

I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ve stayed here twice: solo in 2023 (shared room) and with a family of 4 in 2024 (private room) and both stays have been wonderful. Clean linens, comfortable beds, hot showers, and two well equipped kitchens for cooking/eating. The location is outstanding and only a 5 min drive to the must see Kvalvika beach/Ryten hikes. But it’s also central enough that it can be used as a multi day base camp for exploring other parts of Lofoten. You will have to make your own bed (and may need earplugs if you stay in a shared room), but the value you get for the price is unbeatable especially considering how shockingly expensive accommodation can get in Lofoten. The manager, Sylwia, is full of charm and makes her guests feel incredibly welcome. She wasn’t working when I arrived most recently but when she found out I was a repeat visitor, she went out of her way to stop by the property to shake my hand and say hello. It’s clear she takes great pride in her work/hospitality and it’s a pleasure to support her business. I look forward to staying here in future visits to Lofoten! P.S. the sauna is not to be missed. Perfect for after a long day of hiking and is right next to the sea so you can cold plunge after :)

Had a short stay here and found it quite pleasant. The place is peaceful and somewhat remote. The accommodation had a rustic charm to it, and both the common kitchen area and bedroom were spacious. I assume (based on the different hiking trail posters in the reception) that this area would be much more enjoyable and recommended during warmer months. Just a note for potential visitors: access can be a bit challenging in winter due to road conditions. While buses are an option, they have limited schedules. On the bright side, the location, based on the whole of the Lofoten Islands, is very strategic and convenient for exploring the famous beaches and hiking trails.

Except for the host being unavailable and/or absent for longer periods, nothing.

The view! Stunning views from everywhere - the view from the kitchen window is one of the best you could get from an accommodation, anywhere in the world. Good base for hiking to Kvalvika or Ryten. Reasonable walking distance from the Fredvang kryss bus stop across the bridges (around 40 minutes, including photo stops- but the views are so good that you don't mind doing this walk - I had to cross the bridges on foot 4 times and didn't mind it). Otherwise, a basic but efficient hikers' hostel.

More bathrooms/showers would be nice.

SO MUCH BETTER than camp cabins where you have to put on your warm clothes to go outdoors to get to the toilet block. Here, you can remain indoors to use the toilet/shower. And the wifi works fine in the room. And crisp, clean bedlinen were provided!!!

My room was next to the shared kitchen/dining room and we could hear four ladies chatting and banging things around as they cook and ate and washed up
