Blabjorg Resort is located in the seaside village of Borgarfjörður Eystri not too far from Iceland's Ring Road. The resort has a spa with outdoor pools, a restaurant serving pricey meals and an excellent pub with reasonably priced (by Icelandic standards) beers. I stayed in one of the rooms with shared facilities and never had a problem accessing one of the three bathrooms. The shared kitchen is clean and fully stocked and there is a large screen TV in the communal area with numerous satellite channels. There is a small market with all of the essentials just steps from the resort and the famous puffin colony is a 10-minute drive away. I enjoyed my stay at Blabjorg Resort and do recommend it for a short stay. Travel tip: Request one of the rooms with an ocean view. I believe they're the same price as the ones with only ceiling port windows.

We stayed in the private room area so I can't speak for the guesthouse area but we loved our rooms with balconies over the ocean there. The beds were very comfy. It was a great breakfast, the rooms were big, bathrooms were very big, and staff were so nice.

They charge a ton for use of the pools and spa but use them for their main photo. It's a bit misleading and pictures should clearly state it is an extra charge. It does show it under the detailed amenities, but it was disappointing to show up and not realize that the main photo on their booking is a ton of money extra to use.

Our deluxe room with a balcony facing seaward allowed us to enjoy the views, including the birds on the water. Everything was tastefully furnished. Bathroom sink had extended counter space for one’s toiletries. Shower stall was great with floors that were non slip, and even a blade-broom to wipe away the water. There was a heating towel rack. Beds were very comfortable. The bird colony at Hafnarholmi is about 3.5km from the resort. We were able to see puffins, at times 2 feet away, generally within 10-15 feet. They were used to people and did not shy/hide away. The prime lamb and buttered cod at the hotel restaurant was delicious. And the included buffet breakfast was the best in terms of how much was locally made and unique (breads, jams, tuna salad). We should have budgeted two nights to take full advantage (of spa, hikes, etc).

Location was just nice from seeing the puffins especially visiting at night when they return to their nest. We had the Studio Apartment which face directly at the sea. The view was great, rooms were big and the kitchen was very well stock with everything you need. Sofa also opens up to a proper bed. Place was quiet as well! We came on a pretty hot day with very little wind but the rooms have fans should you need it and since we had three person, we asked for an additional one and the staff quickly look high and low to get us one. Really appreciate the promptness. Breakfast was simple but nice as well!

Since it is by the beach, there were quite a lot of flies that tried to enter the apartment during the day, though all of it vanish by night time. Not a huge problem since there were fans in the room that we were able to use. Also the front faces the east which means the sun shines very brightly directly in. Those sleeping in the room are unaffected but those on the sofa bed might be startled by the sun early in the morning. There were blinds on the windows but not blackout thus some amount still leaks through.

The guest house is spottless and welcoming. Our room was the last one (Number 11 or 12, can't remember) and being on the corner It has 2 windows with a lot of light. There are 3 huge toilets with showers, very clean and organized. We didn't use the shared living room and kitchen but they seemed tò be very comfortable. You Need tò leave the shoes at the guesthouse entrance (Icelandic habit) so Better have comfy shoes tò put on/off. breakfast was Amazing. Both restaurants and rooms are very very hot (we were here in August) so better dress in layers.

Amazing staff, excellent food at the restaurant, unbeatable views! We really enjoyed our stay and everyone was so nice. The hot tub was excellent (large, great view). Our only complaint was related to driving up in the bad weather we encountered. Ended up being 100% worth it- we caught the northern lights and there are plenty of dark areas to view (we walked up to a spot nearby). Nikole and Elena were great hosts! The team also checked road conditions so we could safely leave. They are located in a mountainous area so be careful driving in, especially in winter because the weather is completely different there. The snow while sitting in the hot tub enjoying some wine was magical!

If you can take the time to drive to Blabjorg Resort do it! It'a a spectacular drive and worth it. The resort is in a magnificent part of the world. Our room was clean, modern and quite spacious. The view was stunning. There is a hot tub, a heated pool, a cold pool and saunas. All very nice! The restaurant has a very limited menu but it was good. There is nowhere else to eat as the town is tiny. That's not a bad thing! We were very happy here.

The puffins at the puffin sanctuary had departed for the day when we went for a look........did I mention the beautiful bird sanctuary.

This was my 3rd time in as many years staying at Blábjörg Resort, which I think speaks for itself. 😊 The studio apartment is nicely laid out with great view of Borgarfjörður Eystri. There's a kitchen with everything to conveniently prepare meals, and the bathroom has a shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. If you don't feel like eating in, the restaurant on site is also great (with excellent sourdough pizza!). Every time I've visited the studio has been very clean with everything needed for a great stay. I'll be back!

The town is a scenic 1-hour drive from the main town, and I can confidently say it's absolutely worth every minute. The breathtaking views along the way are unmatched, showcasing the stunning landscapes that Iceland is famous for. Upon arrival, the resort itself is a true gem—comfortable, clean, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. Every corner of the resort exudes warmth and charm, making it feel like a home away from home. The owner is exceptionally kind and caring, always ready to assist and ensure that guests have everything they need for a perfect stay. Their hospitality truly enhances the experience. We have had the best stay here, filled with relaxation and joy, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of Iceland!

This was our second time at Blabjorg, and we can't wait to return. It's a beautiful setting, and the Deluxe Rooms with a balcony are fantastic. The view is breathtaking. The staff is very efficient and friendly, and it's nice to see some familiar faces from last year—it reflects well on the management. Breakfast was very nice. We will be back, hopefully soon!

I only wish the restaurant space were open to guests during the day. We stayed for three nights, and it would be nice to use their lobby to work a little and have coffee.
