This hotel is in a great location and seems like the perfect place to rest after a long drive on Iceland’s icy roads. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There was plenty of parking available, with both front and back access to the hotel, which was very convenient. Despite only a few guests staying that night, the breakfast was fresh, varied, and constantly replenished. A special touch we loved was the beautiful wooden reindeer at the hotel entrance, adding to the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We would have liked to have dinner in the hotel restaurant but there were no vegetarian dishes. We did, however, have a great pizza at Askur which is a 15 minutes walk uphill from the hotel. We were lucky because it was a beautiful sunny evening and we enjoyed the exercise and fresh air. Wouldn’t have been so happy if it had been raining.

Very nice accommodation in a stop-over location, offering a bar and restaurant and close to other places in the town. We visited in early March and we understand that this area is more active in spring/summer. However the hotel staff was nice and room was very nice, clean, and offered all necessary amenities. The breakfast was excellent (the best we had in Iceland) with a lot of different choices, and even a waffle station where you make your own waffle. There is free parking at the back of the hotel, gas stations around, and supermarket for groceries.

I think this was the best accommodation during our trip, so no complaints.

Check-in was easy, the man working the desk was very kind and welcoming. Our room was spotless and beds were comfortable. I would say the TV could do with an upgrade as we could only watch cable television on it. My partner and I both had a pint during the hotel’s happy hour which was very reasonable and the lady working the bar was also friendly and welcoming. Really nice facilities.

The room was clean and functional. Having somebody on reception was handy and the staff were very helpful. The location was right next to stores and gas, with easy access to all the local sights.

It would be nice if breakfast was included. Egilsstadir itself wasn't what we were expecting as there's no real town there per se, but as a central point from which to access the Eastfjords it worked well.

Very nice hotel, nice staff and a beautiful, silent room. The bed is very comfortable, Enough space for the luggage, nicely sized bathroom. Enough parking spaces around the hotel. Convenience stores, petrol station and the restaurants are pretty near. Only 30km away from Henigfoss, 1h away from the Puffin sightseeing spot Borgarfjarðurhofnvegur, and just 7 minutes away for Vök Baths. I cannot comment on breakfast, as I didn’t have any.

we actually had to extend for another night due to a storm shutting down large parts of iceland, but we were glad the hotel had the availability as the room was very nice, everything was clean and quiet and central, with walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets, and a helpful staff! i had read mixed reviews somewhere else but could not confirm those, as we did not have any issues with noise, cleanliness, or the water!

There was a storm so the hotel was at capacity but the staff were so friendly and accommodating through all the people trying to get rooms. The breakfast was great. We were able to walk around and do a little shopping which was nice.

We had to settle for single twin beds which was fine. I think they were OK for sleeping. There was carpeting in the hallyway /room which I am allergic to (dust) so that would be the other item. I was a little stuffed up. But I would totally go back there for the staff and breakfast.

The staff were lovely and supportive and assisted in every way, from reception to restaurant, they were all lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Dinner menu options were reduced, but otherwise OK.

All was good, just thought the dinner menu could have some more options to choose from.

Outstandingly friendly staff, lots of space, very clean and modern. The big Windows were a big plus,, we were able to see the northern lights from our bed! The soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel also were good quality. Close to gas station and grocery store. The restaurant was also good, the reindeer ragout was fantastic!
