The hotel is located about a 7-minute drive from the center. The road leading to it is unpaved, so we were a bit unsure what to expect, but the property turned out to be great – everything is on the ground floor. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a large closet, and a refrigerator. The bathroom was fully equipped with everything we needed. Everything was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The view of the lake was an added bonus. Hot tubs are available, but they close at 10 p.m. Breakfast was excellent, with a variety of cereals, fruit, yogurts, cold cuts, cheese, sweets, vegetables, and boiled eggs – no hot dishes, though. There was no kettle in the room, but when we needed boiling water, it was provided in thermos bottles upon request – no problem at all. The staff were very nice and helpful. Just a tip: restaurants close at 9 p.m., and the local grocery store even earlier – so keep that in mind if you're arriving late. Free parking is available on-site.

Slightly on the expensive side, but everything met our expectations

- Staff was very nice and friendly - Hotel is located in the middle of the nature on the bank of lake near the forest. - We’ve got a room with nice lake view and you have your terrace in front of the room. - We’ve been offered a golf cart to bring our luggage to the room. - They have a restaurant on site which have only few items on the menu but they really cook them well. - Breakfast was quite good as well. - Bed and shower was good.

- Lack of amenities in the room. No kettle. No coffee machine. - No drier or heater to dry clothes.

We enjoyed this hotel overall. It is modern, the hot tub was nice and you can go for a short walk by the side of the lake. Definitely a good option to stay in the Egilsstadir area. Seemed popolar with the "package holiday" bus tours.

We had a really awkward start when the key could not open our room's door. One of the owners came and showed us we werent using enough brute force. So before we locked/unlocked the door, we always spent 2 minutes fighting the doorlock with all we had. Or maybe its time to change the lock. :)

This is a beautiful, immaculate, contemporary property. It's all one level with no steps! :) The location is off the main road, very quiet, with great parking. Our room was spacious with large windows to give you the beauty of nature. It was snowing when we were there which added to the outside beauty. Our room was warm with a great shower and water pressure. Coffee and teas are available free in the restaurant area until they close in the evening. We had dinner in their restaurant, and it was delicious. We ordered the cod fish and artic char and both were prepared outstanding with side dishes. They have a delicious cold cut breakfast buffet and were even offering individual cooked omelets. We would definitely stay here again. A great location for northern lights!

Spacious, modern, large windows, floor-heating, quietly located nearby a lake. Every room accessible from outside, and everyone of them with a very pleasant seating area right in front, with half of them with a view of the lake. Every room with a fridge! Big enough for 2 ltr bottles. Relatively small hotel, with 16 rooms only. Breakfast well above average! All fresh, great choice. Complimentary coffee and tea in the restaurant 24/7. Supermarkets down town

This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. It's close enough to Egilsstadir for the convenience, but is surrounded by nature, overlooking the lake. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped, view was amazing. The hotel has a hot tub overlooking the lake as well. Really thoughtfully laid out and designed. The staff were amazing. Dinner was really high quality, and breakfast was the same. I would stay again next time I visit this part of Iceland!

I wish I'd booked two nights instead of just the one!

VERY clean and modern, with great views. Property is VERY well kept! We loved the wall of windows. Privacy was not an issue as there were drapes that pulled across the entire wall. Staff was very friendly, professional and attentive.

Not necessarily the fault of the proprietors, as there are sulfur smells all over Iceland, however it was quite overwhelming in the bathroom. We kept the bathroom door closed, to help diminish the odor in the main living area.

The hosts/owners were friendly and welcoming. The property is exactly as pictured (though there is now some construction going on for a new building), and the rooms are clean, warm, and spacious, with breakfast included. I got a room with a view of the lake and was even able to see the Northern lights right from my window! Definitely a nice stop off the Ring Road. Would stay again.

This was a lovely little hotel/motel about 6km from town. It's off the main road along a well maintained track - plenty of parking close to rooms. The rooms are easily accessed from outside by a concrete path. The hotel is on a hill above the lake with good views from outside. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was compact but well designed with good decoration and handy wardrobe space. The bathroom was quite large and very good. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. There is a restaurant and we decided to have dinner there - small menu but all the food was very good, small wine list but fine. Breakfast though was on another level - the best brekky we had on the Ring Road trip - great homemade breads and jams, waffles, meats, cheese - not flash but very wholesome.

Nothing material.

This is a small hotel in a quiet location overlooking the lake, the staff are friendly and made us feel welcome. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast - in all of our Iceland trip we spent the most time enjoying this breakfast and not rushing. We also enjoyed the hot tub under the stars.

For a hotel that is so well designed, there are some things that could be more thoroughly thought through, for example, the lighting in the room is not great and the bathroom only has daylight lighting options, no cosy, warm light, also there is no ventilation in the bathroom, so you need to open a window in the room, however, the only window that opens is small, so you might need to use the door. The hot tub is also a great idea, but in our case the water was not hot enough, so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked.
