This was an amazing onsen house. Located very close to the JR terminal station (3 min walk). The open air onsen is superb and we have enjoyed every single minute inside. The room is super spacious - I would even say the biggest we have ever had during our stay in Japan - you get free mochi, hot water, green tee ingredients every day. They even replaced the linens and towels after 1 night. The staff is very nice and helpful. They called a gas station for me, which charged us more than they should. There is an attached parking lot for free. The whole accommodation is a traditional onsen house with tatami floor. The stay was very nice and enjoyable. And not only due to the superb onsen inside. I highly recommend this!

Nothing to dislike.

Located a short walk from the train station, so it was easy to reach. Breakfast and dinner were both good, though I felt the breakfast was a better value. The baths were nice and the room was spacious (we stayed in the pine (松) room, three people in the four person capacity room). We had a private toilet and sink. The room had many nice decorative details and was very traditional.

It was quite cold in January and the room is not well insulated. This is common for traditional Japanese construction, so I was expecting this. The bedding was warm, and we were provided with a heater for the room that worked very well, though the toilet/sink room was cold during the night (the toilet seat is heated so it’s not too bad). We hardly saw anyone else in the baths; I’m not sure if there just weren’t many guests at the time or if people weren’t lingering in the cold. If I stayed here again it would be at a warmer time of year, though I did enjoy seeing the little garden in the snow.

Fantastic stay in Yudanaka Seifuso. When we arrived the owner brought us to the snow monkey park. Dinner and breakfast were amazing. As a vegetarian I could fill in a form what my dietary restrictions are (such as no fish broth, no bonito etc.) It is located near the train station. The onsen are great ( both private and public)

Nothing, except i can imagine some people will find the traditional futons a bit uncomfortable to sleep in (I think you can always ask for an extra layer as mentioned in earlier reviews)

Easy 5 minutes walk from the station. Private onsen was lovely and is tattoo friendly. We didn't use the public onsens but these are predominantly male only with a few hours in the evening for females. Accomodated us with vegetarian meals and have you fill in a checklist upon arrival of what you can/can't eat. Provided robes and slippers, and tea and hot water. Room was very spacious and the futons were reasonably comfortable for one nights sleep. The hosts were very understanding and helpful with an emergency we had to deal with during our stay.

We would have appreciated explanations of the food served, but due to an emergency before dinner causing us to be late we understand why this may not have been possible.

The place itself is really lovely, freshly renovated but still feels very traditional. The family who runs it are super lovely, and did all they could to make us feel comfortable. The dinner, while a little pricy, was amazing. They made sure to list what we could and could not eat when we checked in and there was more food than we could finish. Breakfast was equally lovely, the fresh fruits were delicious. The private onsen was tattoo friendly and such a delight, so glad we had the opportunity to stay here

While I had no issues with the bed someone who does not like a firm sleep may have issues.

The owners were so accommodating and nice. I only wish I had ordered the breakfast and dinner experience. My loss. The opportunity to spend a couple nights in such a special place was so memorable. They also volunteered to drive me to Snow Monkey Park and the Grandfather insisted on blustery snow morning to drive me to very short way to train station and even offers to help me get train ticket if needed. Couldn’t ask for nicer people. Only wish I had more time.. Quite too. Can’t say enough. You won’t be disappointed, but order food at. Reservation or go to local Micasa Japanese neighborhood restaurant. Not fancy but delicious and relaxing. Get the local Shiga Kogen Porter with whatever you have and enjoy❣️👍

We were looking for a traditional Japanese onsen and were not disappointed. Private onsen available - lovely and hot - 46 degrees! Lovely clean room with tatami floors and futons. Located about 2 minutes walk from rail station. Perfect location for 20 minute bus ride to Jigokudani monkey sanctuary.

Breakfast or evening meal only available by prior arrangement and significantly more expensive than in hotels elsewhere in Japan, though breakfast was very nicely served in a private room.

The staff, an adorable family, really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. With fresh sheets, towels and yukata supplied during your day outing, absolutely delicious breakfast and eternal and sincere smiles, these people have won our hearts, despite the language barrier. The outside onsen is absolutely amazing, especially after dark. The room is spacious, traditional and has two separate seating areas.

Maybe the bathroom could've used a toilet brush.

Comfortable and warm room in the winter with private toilet, mini fridge, tv, safe, table, and futon beds. Wonderful onsens. Two public onsen with rotating times for men and women and one private onsen that is available on a first come first serve basis. The outdoor onsen was perfect and very beautiful and the private onsen was nice for when you want some alone soaking time. Hosts were friendly and provided a welcome snack and tea then an apple upon departure. Very kind!

Nothing. Everything was wonderful.

The three onsens were great, so fun just having a quick spa whenever you felt like it day or night! Very flexible with food preferences/dietary requirements they are able to cater to anyone Yudanaka town was pretty quiet in spring, not much going on but very relaxing nonetheless The rooms were very clean and so spacious The scenery around this part of Japan is way more beautiful than I had expected Easy to get here - one 45 min train from nagano station

Our room had no curtains and it got light at 4am but that wasn’t a problem in my friends room. The staff didn’t really interact with us at all
