Nice,clean, friendly.

Location for me not what I prefer .Only Starbucks, Chinese Restaurant and Kebab King for food and drink nearby. Except, and thanks to the lads behind hotel bar telling me about Sjowski Smak restaurant opposite the Ibis which is 'next door' well 20 yards up the road but place is hidden by trees. Seriously you wouldn't find it unless told! It's brilliant Polish food and great service, but you may have to wait to get in. The 10 mins walk to Old Town is ok but in dark becomes a bit meh! Mercure is a business/conference hotel, that's what they do. Good value but simply because of location not for me next time.

Fantastic location in the old town, near the train station and close to so many attractions, bars, restaurants and transport licks. Hotel is fantastic, modern clean, great staff, excellent food and great little bar.

Nothing.

The room was large, well-appointed and comfortable with a soft but supportive mattress. The view from the 12th floor towards the city was amazing. The breakfast was brilliant and there was so much choice. Having a kettle in the room to make tea was great!

Airconditioning was set for heat, and we were told to leave the window open for cool air. I like the window shut in a noisy environment and still to have a cool room for sleeping. Fortunately the air was clean and over night the noise was limited. The TV has limited English channels.

I made a mistake while booking a room in the early hours of the morning. After panicking a little we called up the hotel shortly after and rectified my mistake. The staff member on the phone was understanding and really helpful in fixing my error. We chose a room with the view of the Old Town and it was everything that we expected, but seeing it in person still leaves a long lasting impression. There is something special about waking up and looking through the window at Gdansk Old Town before setting off to explore it. Took note of some interesting looking buildings from the hotel room's window and went to these places in person to get a closer look and take photos. The rooms are neat and clean. I personally don't like cluttered rooms and the one provided at the hotel was just right. Having all the important necessities and the added touch of a capsule coffee machine was really nice. I did find the shower a little awkward with the big glass doors opening outwards instead of sliding doors for example as the bathroom isn't that large and the glass door is big. We also stopped by the hotel bar for a final cocktail after coming back from sightseeing. Comparatively to some places we visited with great reviews the cocktails served here landed in a solid number one. My wife also really liked the neat glassware the cocktails are presented in. We also had the pleasure of partaking in breakfast. The variety of things to choose from was big. There was even vegan cheese on offer. Everything was fresh and so vibrant in taste. I also enjoy good coffee and the double espresso I got was the best coffee I had in Gdansk. I also loved the extra service of staff members walking around and offering fresh croissants. Overall if I come back to Gdansk this would be my number one go to hotel.

Parking. Simple as that. We came on a busy weekend by car and one of the conveniences we were looking for while hunting for a hotel was parking. Unfortunately the parking is limited on site and there is a distinct lack of organization on the available lot, as anyone can park there, not just hotel guests as it's simply a paid parking lot. First come - first serve. I also saw a lot of cars just parked horrendously pointing to a lack of any oversight of order by the hotel. I was actually relieved that there wasn't room for us to park and that we managed to find our own paid spot as I didn't need to worry about door dings or someone scratching the car with their bags and such.

I stayed here for a three-night break on my own. The staff were really kind and helpful, especially the ladies working at the bar/restaurant. One was very nice to me when I came down looking for dinner, exhausted from a difficult day. Breakfast had a really good selection and a nice area to dine in. The location is very central - about five minutes' walk to the old town. And I had a fantastic view out of my room window! (Photo of room view attached) Gdansk is such a beautiful and interesting place - the houses are pretty and there is so much to learn in the various museums. Well worth visiting.

The wifi was very good some nights but not good other nights.

It has an amazing ambience and a nice location. Dominik at the bar/restaurant knows how to host. 1 extra star for his professionalism. Everyone spoke very clear English which was a big plus for us.

didn't like the snarly looks by the breakfast staff. Rough expressions and felt like I did something wrong when I asked them anything or to clean the table. Not taking that breakfast again, even if it's free. They could learn a thing or two from Dominik at the bar

If you like a hotel with great views, you should choose this hotel. I also appreciated it's ten minutes away from the Old City which is gorgeous. The hotel is surrounded by local cafes and a small park with a spring.

The Mercure was quite generic as you would expect from a chain hotel like this, but because of the beautiful views I have no complaints about that.

Close to city center, but still very quiet. Clean room, comfortable bed. Nice service. Great view to the old town! Good soundproofing. There was also an option to park right in front of the hotel, which is great too. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special, breakfast restaurant is quite cosy. Generally, we liked our stay, and will consider this hotel for future stays in Gdansk.

Some of room details were a bit worn out, also there were traces of wall paint on the bathroom door - maybe after repair. During our stay there was an issue with sewage outside so lobby smelled bad - but this is not hotel fault, hopefully this doesn't happen often.

In general the room. The room was fine and comfortable. I didn't need much as we were away from the hotel room during the day. In general the room has met my expectations.

There was no soap and shampoo in the shower. I had to buy my own. There was only a soap in a washbasin. Other than that, I think room users from previous days used the fridge for keeping smelly food as when I wanted to use it, it smelled like a smoked fish. It was not very pleasant.
