Beautiful hotel with great comfort direct by the beach, the beach was beautiful as well as the rooms and the pool. We recommend this hotel!

The lounger and the chairs by the pool and beach were at bit old and in my opinion they should be changed to keep the high standard and comfort!

Our experience at Alma del Pacífico was truly exceptional. The hotel offers an impressive combination of privacy and natural beauty, with spacious villas just steps away from the beach. The setting provides a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. What truly set our stay apart, however, was the outstanding service. Every member of the staff was attentive, courteous, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. My wife especially enjoyed her time at the spa, which she absolutely loved.

While our overall experience was wonderful, we believe the pool area could benefit from additional shaded spaces. Although there are a few tables available, the existing shade was somewhat limited during peak sun hours. Adding more umbrellas or sun-protected areas would greatly enhance guest comfort and encourage longer stays around the pool.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The whole setting is gorgeous, the rooms are amazing with their own lovely garden, really original and artistically decorated. Food was also good.

You are a bit stranded there - we thought we would be able to get local taxis around locally but there are none, unless called from nearest town which would end up costing minimum of 50 dollars to go anywhere. So unless you can walk you can't get anywhere. We would have been happy to walk to some places but risk or tropical downpour is high and long way to either part of Esterillos

Absolutely beautifully kept landscaping and right off a private beach on the ocean - a storybook setting!

The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the hotel rooms glass doors without curtains of any kind. Even the showers had glass walls and doors with no options of curtains so anyone outside could see right in while we were showering, changing clothes, sleeping or doing about anything else private.

The property is located on an excellent beach with direct and amazing access. The beach has warm water year round and (outside riptide times) it is extremely fun. The entire property is filled with well-maintained gardens and the restaurant boasts a quality (included in our booking) breakfast. Everything is clean, including the rooms, which have excellent heat-pump units that keep them cool and dry. We had a discounted rate but even at full price this would be a very good value and exceptionally better than other nearby accommodation. It is close to Manuel Antonio (book online well in advance to avoid disappointment) and other activities on the beach or nearby. Jaco is also not far and has other activities including boat trips to the West side of Costa Rica.

The beach has riptides that make it unsafe outside certain hours around the high tide. We found it fine and worked (as everyone does) around that schedule, but you should be well aware in advance and plan accordingly. We were unaware of the riptides before coming. The property let us know when we arrived and we planned around the hours we should be visiting. Please note there is no lifeguard so you swim/surf/etc. at your own peril. The pool was relatively unsheltered and hot with insufficient cover for those not swimming. Some staff were excellent while the behaviour or some fluctuated significantly, depending on their perception of tips (we had no problem but others experienced rude behaviour).

The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The bright colored buildings and the immaculately maintained grounds were gorgeous to see. Each room was different, which gave it great character. The very friendly groundskeeper showed us where the sloths were every morning, and brought us fresh coconuts. All the staff were delightful. The view of the ocean from the large suite just can’t be beat.

The food was my least favorite thing. Everything was heavy, and fish was overcooked. We just got our complimentary breakfast (the fruit and yogurt were delicious), and generally went elsewhere for other meals. There are several nearby hotels with excellent fresh food.

The location was amazing. Propriety was very clean and well kept. Staff very helpful and courteous. Property workers were all so nice and professional. We loved loved loved the property and location. Perfect peaceful beach get away with Costa Rican culture

Food, and value of food. The dinner was one of worst meals we have had in a while. Curry vegetable was served in think white paste. Cuban rice was served with soggy French fries. Value was not great. Most expensive dinner we had on the trip was the worst one. The breakfast was fine but you can get much better flavor and value half mile away in town center Prices on drinks and food were similar to Washington DC prices. We expected better value.

Beautiful place, nice staff, spacious rooms in a beachfront villa with a seperate bathroom space very well organised. 2 air conditioners : one in the room and one in the bathroom. Huge beach!

This place needs refreshing, especially the beach beds which are past their lifespan. The breakfast was not so good with very few options included and many additional’. In general the dood was uninteresting, we dined outside most of the time.

The staff was so lovely and helpful. Specifically Freddy - was so thoughtful and kind and some of the best service I’ve ever experienced! The food was fantastic - suggest the pancakes/French toast and any of the fish for dinner. Good spot for someone looking for a relaxing quiet vacation. I went alone but it’s mostly couples and families. Not much in the surrounding areas so best if you’re looking to having quiet time at the hotel / beach. Beach is steps from the room, beautiful weather, landscaping and rooms.

Would’ve preferred a bit more in the surrounding areas but ultimately ending up being nice for a relaxing time.

Room and Garden where fantastic, Roomsize was great, Location by the ocean absolutely superb. Staff was friendly. The grounds were meticulous, Everything was superb, except one thing which was REALLY extremely poor : FOOD

The food was terrible, everything else was a '10' and the food was really a 1 or a 2. Management should understand that the weakest link of a chain , if it is really very weak compared to the rest, breaks the chain. I passed by one week later and would have absolutely stayed here if it wasn't for the food. Both dinner and breakfast 3 of the 4 dishes where really bad. Such a pity from an otherwise really superb hotel, one of the best I've stayed in in 250-300 bookings in the last decade. Management would do well to really change its view on how food is part of the overall experience.
