We had two rooms during our stay and they both had an excellent views to the pool and beach. We had to switch rooms becouse on our third night there was a plumbing issues in the restroom. The staff was so nice and accomodating and for switching rooms they did not charge us for the mini bar food we consumed. Highly recommend !! Definetly will stay here next time I visit Playa hermosa.

While we stayed here, we were working remotly and the wifi was very good someday and then other days horrible. So it was kinda unpredictable,. We manage to work fine but just fyi ask if there are wifi issues.

We loved our stay at The Backyard Beachfront after reading the reviews we were second guessing our stay because the most complaint was nothing was close to the hotel. Two restaurants walking distance on the beach which was beautiful, every hotel we went to after leaving we compared it to that stay if/when we go back we will be taking my parents with us to this hotel. Chelsie was very helpful by email, WhatsApp and personally. She booked our transportation from airport, Manual Antonio tour and to a San Jose hotel. Our trip didn’t start out as planned we missed our connecting flight losing a day in Costa Rica our tour was supposed to start in the morning but our flight wouldn’t arrive in time, after working with Chelsie she was able to reschedule our tour for that afternoon. If it wasn’t for her we would have lost our money and no tour.

The place was very nice, quiet, and clean. The staff were so amazing always willing to asist with any needs.

The waves are very strong, perfect for surfing but dangerous for kids or people that don't know how to swim. Something the hotel has no control of it but the pool is perfect .. also there is no restaurant in the premises but there are few walking distance places that serve good food .. 😊

Beautiful view, nice pool, relaxing and cozy. Bed was comfortable, AC was working well. Rooms were clean. Views from balcony great.

Might be noisy because of the road. Hotel can’t do much with it. If you are sensitive take your earplugs with you :) Note for the hotel: you should have earplugs available for your guests at the reception in case they want it. Little item which may save you annoyed sensitive guests.

Very clean, staff was friendly and spoke great English, and it was right on the beach with a great little restaurant (Vida Hermosa) a few buildings away Swimming pool was great, was well secured

Location, pool was bigger than I thought, fid T try it out but looked clean and had some massage stteams Restaurant near by was good Right at the beach Right on the road, easy to find I loved the bed but they were a bit too soft for my son and husband

No staff after 18h except security Noise of trucks passing by Bathroom and furniture very basic but hairdryer worked well

Everything except the prices for every little thing.

Patricia immediately telling me in a not so nice tone that I had booked for only 2 people. We had our 16 year old daughter who I did put on my reservation through booking.com, $80.00 extra for the 2 nights. The room was a quadruple room with a King bed and a Queen bed yet I supposedly booked it for only 2. Ridiculous. Then $60.00 more for 2 Chihuahua's. None of this was on the site. Never again. We were the only guest in the entire hotel. Complete rip off for a Tuesday and Wednesday night. My wife's birthday was ruined. We were going to stay an extra night but were quoted $170.00. So Hasta la Vista.

We loved the big rooms, ocean view and iguanas everywhere the pool was beautiful and not too deep. Fridge stocked with drinks and free ice machine! Couple of restaurants walking distance on the beach.

Sewage truck pumping out septic tank on arrival. Not the most pleasant smell walking in to a hotel Again with that said seems like the problem was solved within a hour so no big deal

Beautiful location, clean pool. Large rooms with huge balcony and view. Preferred being on Playa Hermosa rather than in Jaco, quiet beach, we loved the sound of crashing waves, and enjoyed delicious food at restaurants a few doors down.
