Location & Staff were Superb! Alan, the manager and Jacob at reception were extremely warm, kind and most helpful during our stay. We stayed in room 101, which was fantastic, facing the beach. It was so soothing to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf! Dining at the hotel was The Best! A special thank you to Miss Rayna, Queen of the dining room. Her warm reception during all of our meals was exceptional. She is a wonderful asset to the hotel and an outstanding representative of the Costa Rican charm & friendliness. All of our meals were superb! This is a wonderful hotel with an excellent staff to make your stay The Best!

The complimentary breakfast was excellent, as was every meal we had at the restaurant, outside overlooking the beach. The resort is small but we hardly left it because they had everything we needed and the food was so good we didn't really want to try anywhere else. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and even helped with tour suggestions. The rooms were very clean and comfortable but we hardly were in it, we walked the beach forever and sat at the pool.

Our room had no balcony or patio, just overlooked the office, but that was our fault for not reading our reservations and they were fully booked so couldn't move us. Honestly we didn't mind because we were hardly in our room, but if that's important to you, I would suggest looking at your reservation closely to make sure you don't get that room (most of the rooms had patios, ours was one of the few that didn't). Also, we didn't have a fridge in our room which would have been nice to have but we just picked up ice at the local store.

We booked a superior one bed apartment with pool and garden view and were dismayed to be given an apartment overlooking the road at the back. The Manager was excellent in sorting this out and we transferred to another apartment with a view which included the ocean. He brought up chairs and a table for the balcony, too. The location right on the beach was lovely and the heated pool was clean and relaxing.

The superior one bed apartment, while fine for the two of us, would not be suitable for anyone wanting to prepare meals. There wasn’t even a dining table and chairs. The breakfasts didn’t offer much choice and weren’t great , apart from the fruit, and evening meals were overpriced.

On the beach, food was amazing and large variety on menu, dining is next to the ocean, black sand beach, close to good pizza and 24 hr store for any extras needed, allowed early check in, did a load of laundry for us for small free and left folded in our room, beautiful pool, beautiful sitting area for our room with pool and ocean view, beautiful macaws around property

Big waves, couldn’t swim in the ocean at times , 2 windows in room wouldn’t close completely, no monkey sightings

Loved this place and the staff were so friendly. Only booked it the night before & was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica. Excellent location right on the beach but unfortunately couldn’t swim due to the heavy rainfall. Would need a car to get into Jaco but would definitely recommend. Delicious breakfast & even had hot water available for cups of tea which not many properties had.

The rain ha but had a great swim in the pool as love swimming in the rain.

For breakfast we had 3 choices. These were cooked fresh. The restaurant was open aired and we were able to sit at a table facing the ocean. Rooms were clean and comfy. The motel is right on the beach so I was able to walk along the beach both morning and evening. In the evening there were people fishing from shore and in the morning there were surfers. The water was pretty rough for a person like me to play in but it is close to other beaches that can be accessed easily if you have a car or hire a taxi. Rinse off shower coming off the beach was nice. We did see a boogie board we could have used if we had seen it prior to leaving. There were nice reclining lounge chairs you could sit in and watch the beach.. The swimming pool was fun to swim in. There was security at the property.

When we checked out we were not allowed to check out until a maid "checked the room???" This made us feel uncomfortable. The showers were cold which was a surprise but since we were basically hot and sweaty it worked out ok.

This place is right on the beach, and within a few minutes walk you'll find some good restaurants and a couple of mini-markets for whatever you need. Jaco is a short Uber/cab ride away if you like that kind of thing. I was here in December, and the beach was empty, which suited me perfectly. Room was really comfortable, aircon worked fine, and wifi was ok. All the rooms seem to have a nice outlook, though a couple directly face the sea, rather than the oblique view I had.

A fridge in the room would have been nice, but there were rooms with fridges and I didn't pay the extra so that's on me, and the hotel staff were very helpful in providing an icebox for me.

I loved staying at this beautiful beachfront Fuego del Sol hotel! I definitely recommend it to travelers looking for clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable rooms to stay in Jaco. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen smart TVs. They have a nice restaurant on sight with great variety of delicious food options on the menu. This is also where you have included breakfast each morning, which is tasty and filling (they have a breakfast menu as well). Also, you can order a massage session at the reception desk. Very friendly personnel; they were very helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to the manager of the hotel, who helped me with the birthday surprise for my wife and even provided me with some clothes and other necessities after my backpack with clothes got stolen (so pay extra attention to your bags when you ride a bus from San Jose to Jaco). This hotel exceeded all expectations, and we will definitely come back!

We interacted with several of the staff, some multiple times, and each time, they were very kind and helpful. Our room was very clean and in good condition. We enjoyed a few of the included breakfasts and lunch one day in the restaurant while looking out at the ocean and listening to the waves. The food was very good. We greatly appreciated being able to control the AC in our room as it was respite from the high humidity and heat. Of course, they have a lovely pool and the ocean to cool down, as well. We enjoyed watching TV in the evening before going to sleep. We enjoyed watching three pairs of macaws and several yellow-billed toucans in the trees across and down the street from the reception area. While staying over New Year's Eve, the restaurant had a special dinner with a DJ and fireworks to ring in the new year. The staff went out of their way to make our visit a memorable and enjoyable stay.

The king mattress was beginning to noticeably sag to the middle. The shower drain could be cleaned more often as it took a while to drain. To be fair, we didn't bring this up to the staff during our stay to allow them to address it, but they might want to consider checking these things regularly for their guests. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would return.

Breakfast was incredible! The facilities were all taken cared off and clean. The hotel is literally in front of the beach. The staff was amazing, friendly and willing to help. It is the perfect place if you really don't want to drive anywhere because everything is there. You have a restaurant in the hotel, the beach in front and the pool. But if you want to go to other places (beaches, restaurants) everything is near by. Their Fogo del Sol Burger was amazing! One of the best burgers I have ever had. Coffee was great! They have lactose free milk. Their American breakfast was incredible! Definitely try their churchill.

I did not like their Lomito pimienta (black pepper sirloin steak). The sauce was too sweet for my taste. The desayuno tipico (pinto) in the menu said it included jam but we always had to ask for it because they would forget to bring it. The restaurant during lunch and breakfast was packed. The internet connection was not stable. I would not recommend this place for remote working.
