Amazing suite, it looked exactly like the photos. Celebrated my fiancée's birthday and the staff helped set up champagne and a cake to the room, very sweet. The location is great if you have a car, still close to Inverness but in a lush area. The castle itself actually feels really old and grand, it was very special to stay here. Nice breakfast and restaurant.
The bathroom was not entirely cleaned, stay black hairs were left behind. Also one of the showers were only working properly. The main room was also dusty in places. Paying for a suite you do expect a higher level of execution on details like that. Also be mindful of that its an old building and you can hear the neighbours.

History. Room was adequate.
Rude little man at the desk, could do with an attitude adjustment. I chose to stay at Tulloch Castle because of my family ties to Davidson family. I messaged the hotel weeks before my stay asking about if we could be directed to the Davidson family headstones, the girl advised that the area was overgrown but could give me directions. And when I asked about this on the day, the young man on the desk, refused to give me directions, saying that Clan Davidson would not like us looking at the site, because it was private and overgrown etc. Thank goodness for google, as directions were easily found there and on public record!

I stayed here because it was a special occasion for us. Which is why I chose the expensive “suite.” The room was glorious, everything we hoped for. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and good serving staff.
We didn’t get what we paid for. Our booking said it included wine/champagne for guests which we wanted as we were celebrating something. We didn’t get it. When I queried it I was told it wasn’t in the package. It is on the room details so we felt a bit hard done by. We paid a lot of money and didn’t get what we paid for. Also no coffee machine and no slippers if I’m being pedantic!

Really beautiful castle hotel with a lot of potential that is not fully used. Many empty, not used rooms. the staff are teenagers, maybe students. The castle itself is real, big and beautiful, with a lot of history. Quiet place . the room was nice, warm and cozy, nice bathroom , comfortable bed . very good breakfast, quick service, open from 07:00! it is an advantage! a real open operating fireplace, so beautiful, rustic and nice to sit near by.
The only thing was the dinner - just do not go there! it's quality like in a public school . you understand that the person who cooked it doesn't understand nothing about cooking. maybe some teenager? the pasta and the shrimps overcooked, sauce sour. Skip their dinner and your stay will be lovely Also, 2 sentences written about the ghost not really explaining the origin, who is that lady and why she is green. pity

We pay for the King Room with balcony, upon arrival we were told that we were upgraded to the Superior King Suite which was amazing. We booked the other room because we wanted something that felt castle like but also didn't wanted to use a lot of money from our trip, can say the Superior King Suite feels exactly like if you're the king and queen of the castle the room is huge, the bed is huge, the bathroom is like in a separate room which is nice, there is a small "hidden" reading room heating was nice as well. Breakfast was nice as well, they have some options and you can add whatever you like from the option you took, they had juices, coffee, milk, pastries, etc. We booked the dungeon for our dinner which was lovely the only thing is that we were just 2 people and we were super far away from each other, the actual food was good you could choose between a 2 course or 3 course meal. Bed was amazing and super confortable and the staff was super helpfull.
We had 2 shower heads but one of them wasn't heating up properly. Also this is not something bad about the place but about our stay, we got woken up at 4:50 am because of the fire alarm, thank god it works but waking up that early wasn't fun haha.

The location was ideal for us being central to our holiday plan. We enjoyed breakfast & dinner at the hotel throughout our 4 night stay. Breakfast was good as were dinners. Bar menu was more varied in the bar than the dining restaurant but it was possible to select from both menus. Overall quality was good. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff.
Being a castle, there were a lot more stairs than anticipated & no lift which was not ideal for us whose room was on the top floor. Staff shortage & an eco policy was blamed for not servicing the room daily as we would have expected, though we were able to request this or towel exchange & top up as required.

Lovely welcome to the castle, log fire burning in the hall, really felt the atmosphere. Had a really nice meal in the restaurant and really friendly staff thtoughout but unfortunately had to leave without trying the breakfast. Nice White Company toiletries. Only stayed for one night as travelling but would have enjoyed staying for longer.
No heating on in the room or bathroom even though there was a heated towel rail, although there was an electric heater which we used in the bedroom. Fortunately it wasn't too cold but we would have probably raised the issue if it had been. TV signal poor in the bedroom, but what can you expect in an old castle with thick walls 🤔

I loved everything about this property! We were a small group - we booked the McKenzie Apartment because we like the idea of being together but still having enough space to be separate. I had no idea how big and beautiful this apartment was!! I felt like royalty! Everything was beautifully appointed and incredibly clean. I hated leaving!!
Toiletries in every bathroom would be great. We traveled with our own toiletries for the most part so it wasn't earth shattering but for example, my flat mate ran out of soap - our bathroom had shower gel, hers had only handwash.

After reading other reviews we were concerned about the size of the room Those concerns were unfounded The room was very nice and quite comfortable. We ate dinner in the restaurant our second night and it was very enjoyable.
It's a castle. It is an older building with character which we enjoyed. That being said there are some maintenance issues that could be tended to. There was visible trash o outdoor landings, the inner courtyard could be better maintained and there was quite a bit of scuffed paint While those things did not directly effect our stay, they were noticeable.

The castle hotel is a beautiful and well maintained historic building. The kind of place where the building itself is the draw, not the location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had dinner in the Tulloch restaurant, which was done to perfection, well presented, and made with fresh, local ingredients. The menu was creative, with something for everyone, and great service. The breakfast, however, was not done to the same standard. It was more bland, typical hotel fair. We had pre dinner drinks in the Green Lady bar, again with really cheerful and friendly service, and a decent selection of adult drinks, and creative cocktails.
The mattress was very old and well past its prime, with pillows seemingly coming from the same era. We stayed in one of the 4 poster rooms which came at a premium. While the room was spacious and beautifully appointed with its furnishings, the mattress and pillows were something one would expect in a cheap roadside motel, not a high end castle hotel. The mattress even dipped noticeably in the middle of each side (visible in the picture). I recommend the hotel replace these items in short order.
