Facilities, staff and comfort were exceptional

The dinner on the first night was very poor and the quality was well outside the price range set. This made us decide to eat elsewhere the whole weekend.

Loved our room: very, very spacious. Bath tub! Robes! Huge towels! Slippers! Very, very welcoming front desk (shout out to Pam Oliver). My fantastic masseuse (Emma!). Free parking.

Very disappointed with the pillows. Our first night was obviously a busy night. Couldn’t get a decent dining table at the conservatory for a 5 pm dinner. Service was slow - asked servers 3 times to book us in for dinner the following night (duration of our dinner). I had to go to the front desk and was booked on the spot. Funnily enough, same (most) servers the following night , a tad better. It would have been nice to have a shuttle to town, not everyone can do the walk.

Very nice room, friendly staff and great location. We wish we could stay a little longer to enjoy such nice facilities. We definitely recommend a stay in this hotel.

Nothing really relevant, but as a feedback I can mention that the fixed soap dispenser was a little annoying, because it could not be used in the bathtub. Some bathroom amenities would have been a nice touch. The service during dinner was irregular and it looked like they were understaffed, as we had to order the same thing several times and they forgot my child's order twice. But other than that, everything was very nice.

Ease of access, specious throughout. The staff very friendly especially bar and front of house. Bed comfortable Breakfast was good. Good parking

Bedroom was not serviced through the day, despite label on door requesting service at 9am , had to ask for clean towels . Cups , glasses etc needed replaced. Eventually room serviced at 6pm. Room was a bit lacking :- full length mirror,better lighting over mirror for shaving in the bathroom. More pillows. No fridge. No room information , if you don’t want to use an app. Pool was was a bit murky and smaller than expected. Jacuzzi was too chlorinated, fumes stinging eyes. I felt guests should have automatically be given swimming towels without charge

The staff could not have been more helpful. I was travelling with my 88-year-old mother and had recently hurt my back in a cycling accident. From start to finish our day was made a pleasure by the support that the staff gave us to get our bags to our rooms, by giving us rooms adjacent And with access to terraces so that we could walk our dogs. Most people will not need the level of service we did, so for the record I can confirm that the breakfast was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and well decorated, the spa facilities sufficient and the staff very friendly.

I have fed back that it would’ve been helpful to have had more than one person on reception at 10:30 am, half an hour before departure time, as there was a long queue of people waiting to check out. However, that did not delay our departure. I very much and the rest of the service was so excellent it is just a minor quibble.

Very good location, staff was excellent, the grounds are beautifu as is the hotell and the breakfast was amazing.

Room carpet, which is an easily replaced area rug, was very worn and dirty, so it an easy fix. The gym was very small, extremely old, and limited. This is not as easy fix since the rooms are VERY small, but buying new and compact machines, they could easily upgrade it and make it more user-friendly. When I say small, I mean there were 3 of us, and we kept getting in each other's way. Im shocked that locals actually pay to use it!

Welcoming, warm decor in reception. The info about Robbie Burns visit when the hotel was a private house was interesting. The dining room, Whisky Bar and breakfasting restaurant again were bright airy and comfortable. Our room was bright and spacious with lovely views across the golf course. We ate on two evenings finding the food excellent, well seasoned and presented. The homemade soups at lunchtime were great ! The staff were welcoming, friendly (not intrusive) and we mentioned a few times to the staff on their professionalism and that their training showed, we had a slight issue with a crack in the shower stall in our room but was promptly dealt with. The hotel Manager himself moving us to another room without hesitation. We will definitely revisit the hotel and are happy to recommend the hotel to others xox

We were travelling with a dog and the hotel upgraded us to a Garden Room. The only downside was we were unable to leave the dog in the garden room to have breakfast but were unable to frequent the restaurant with our dog. They did indicate we could sit in the bar area at reception, however we chose to stay in the Garden Room and have the breakfast served to us there; with a tray charge. The room was clean however when we arrived there had been no heating on for a long period. We travelled in February, temperatures had been -3 during the night, so it did take the lodge a number of hours to warm up. The room was a little dated and although the to had free view, it was not a smart one.

This is a charming property with character but at the same time has modern fittings and a fresh, well-maintained feel. The room was extremely quiet and I had a very comfortable night. Breakfast was really good - a wide choice and everything fresh and nicely cooked. I also appreciated the ease of parking and proximity to the city centre (a 10/15 minute walk).

My room was in the old part of the property and involved going up-and-down sets of steps, which might be awkward with luggage. To be fair I was offered help with my bags upon checking in which I didn’t need on this occasion, but if visiting again with heavy luggage I’d take up the offer of assistance.

I absolutely love this Hotel.Its my 3rd time staying here and will definitely stay again. Having the use of all the facilities is a plus . Gym swimming pool saunas and steam room. Just bliss and adds to a very relaxing stay. Restaurant, well food is just excellent .10 out of 10 to the Chef. Look forward to my next visit.

I hate to criticize and its only a small one. But coffee at The Breakfast is not good just very very weak.please can you improve this as Coffee from the bar area is 100 %better
