I liked the location and the river view from the 1st floor bedroom. The room was clean and correctly furnished. The receptionist was very helpful and moved me from the ground floor room, which was just by the path, had no view and no privacy! (Some sort of net curtains required here).

This is not a 4 star hotel! There were a number of aspects that, in my opinion, were lacking in a 4 star hotel. The towels were too thin, there were no shelves, rails or hooks in the tiny shower room. The furniture is very dated and had a number of water marks and stains on the coffee table and bedside table. The breakfast buffet was unimaginative and lacking in choice. Not good value for money.

I stayed at the Glen Mhor Hotel for four nights and couldn’t have chosen a better location in Inverness — possibly the best spot in the city. It’s just a short walk from the center, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Both my room and the breakfast hall offered a wonderful view of the River Ness, perfect for a morning walk or run along its banks. Breakfast was excellent, with a large variety of options, and there was plenty of parking space. The hotel’s bar and outdoor dining area were also a highlight, offering a relaxed atmosphere and great drinks. Just a note for future guests: the hotel is made up of several charming, low-rise buildings (most with only two floors) spread next to each other, and there are no elevators — something to keep in mind if you have heavy luggage. A lovely stay overall, combining comfort, great views, and an unbeatable location.

We enjoyed our stay here, albeit only one night. The location is perfect and we could walk on the river walk and through the town so once we parked, that was it. The brewery was fun yet quite busy while we were there so service was slow yet friendly. The restaurant was nice yet not anything overly special. Staff was quite stretched so not the most attentive to our needs. We felt like just another customer to get fed and out the door. Would try elsewhere if we return.

We were upgraded to a suite and it was spacious, yet not so comfortable. Very few outlets, side tables or lamps. Very sparse yet large.

My room was located at the front of the hotel, the view of the river was wonderful and contributed greatly to my positive experience of staying here. The room itself had lovely wooden paneling around the window, high ceilings, and plenty of space. Facilities within the room were fine, with a large comfy bed and good shower. The hotel location is perfect, only a five minute walk away from the centre, but far enough to ensure a quiet stay with minimal road noise. Huge breakfasts with plenty of choices, great to have a taproom on site with some good, if not quite to my taste, beer. I would certainly come back here for another stay, providing they had availability of rooms with a river view.

Whilst the reception staff were helpful and friendly, with the odd exception, the majority of the restaurant staff came across as a miserable bunch - with not too many smiles evident. Self-service breakfasts were large and tasty; hot drinks however were delivered and served by the staff (of which there were legion). Trying to get a coffee refill was a challenge; trying to get a coffee re-fill that wasn't just half a cup full - was impossible. I had to ask every time, both issues became tedious on day four. Conversely, staff seemed highly motivated to whip your plate away within a nano-second of your final bite - hardly a relaxing breakfast.

Very good location on the river Ness. Slightly farther out from the direct city centre, which is nice as it is away from the crowds. If you walk along the river out of the city there are many trails to explore and it was perfect for a runner like me. Very comfortable beds, nice to have a brewery right downstairs. Beer is good and the scotch will eventually be good (I hope!).

Bathroom was not that clean and room was a little warm with blankets that are too heavy (visited in the summer and had the windows open). The toilet flush/cistern made a really loud sound with the pipes when we used it but it seems like it was flushing fine.

The location was perfect. Situated on the river a short walk into the centre of town. Surrounded with eating and drinking establishments. Live music at the distillery. Place was buzzing. Room a great size, and bathroom huge with a powerful and hot shower. Food at the waterside restaurant was lovely and good value. Good choice for breakfast too.

Bed was very hard so didn't sleep well. We were on the top floor and no lift so if you struggle with stairs dont stay here. Also the hotel is made up of several buildings in a row and the restaurant is at the end so be prepared to walk everywhere. £12 charge for parking in their car park.

Our stay at Glen Mhor set our first trip.to the Highlands, and to Inverness, off with some style. Friendly and helpful staff (special mention to Fraser!), spacious and comfortable room, delicious food (both at breakfast and at dinner - the Cullen Skink Confit Lamb Shoulder and Beef were outstanding) and an excellent location. Another bonus is having the brew-stillery, Uile Bheist, attached. When we told the various people we met during our time in Inverness where we were staying, they all nodded and agreed it was a great place. A couple of snags which we brought to the hotel's attention (e.g.net curtains at the windows for privacy in the ground floir rooms) but nothing that would stop us coming back again. It was fabulous!

A very good hotel at great value price, charming and helpful staff (genuinely Welcoming receptionist, good humoured and efficient restaurant staff), clean rooms and such a lovely location by the river.

The layout of the en-suite meant wriggling through the door to the shower to avoid a burn from the wall mounted towel rail! Minor inconvenience only.

Just about everything. We chose to stay here because long ago my dad and my aunties went to school with the man who established the hotel. The business has changed hands a couple of times, but what a good thing was started, and what a good thing they are continuing now. Staff make or break a place, and the staff here are great. Whether we were dealing with people in reception, the restaurant, breakfast, or the bar, everybody was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent - except perhaps for the sausages being served as part of the breakfast buffet: they were not the best in terms of taste and quality. We dined in the restaurant twice during our stay, and on both occasions the food and service meant that next time we come to Inverness, we'll be looking forward to eating in the restaurant again. The room we stayed in had a bath. To be clear, I mean the bath was next to the bed, although separated by quite an effective, low, partition. Didn't expect the bath to be there. At first we were like, wut? But then I got the gf some bubble bath and I couldn't get her out of it. In theory, it is weird, but in practice, it was not. I didn't try it myself, but the gf turned into some sort of prosecco-obsessed mermaid. I was lying on the bed with my headphones in listening to the football, and I can hear her splashing about. It was surreal and also wonderful. Don't worry - there is also an en suite shower room. I doubt all of the rooms have baths in them, so if you want that, I suppose you'll have to ask for it.

That I won't be back again until later in the year. Also not sure if we'll be able to have the same room. The little sign next to the shampoo/bodywash warning guests they'll be charged £14 or something if they nick it is insulting to guests who don't need to steal things. If that sign can't be worded better - perhaps highlighting the hotel's environmental aims by using refillable bottles instead of disposal giveaways - then the bottles could be secured within the shower like they do in other hotels. The sign as it is comes across as smarmy, thoughtless, and in our case, unnecessary. An irritating black mark on an otherwise flawless experience.

I loved the welcoming reception area and the availability of the great bar. The room was brilliant. Our stay was for a get-together, organised in another area of Inverness. Loving Inverness always, many years ago, I enlisted as a Queen's Own Highlander there.

The lack of roof maintenance is going to come and visit your premises with a vengeance if your company is not careful. Opening fire doors for smokers should be a thing of the past. Freezing in the bar and reception areas. It is what it is, and you all try hard, stand especially, but management must try harder to enforce things.
