Value was amazing. $108 Canadian Dollars a night in early March 2025. Location was perfect, and beautiful. Hotel was oozing with charm. Bed was comfy. Ceilings were so high. View was even good into courtyard. Windows were old but could be opened which we prefer. I loved this place! Also, this was mid-trip for us and needed to get laundry done. Good location right around the corner - 1 big load, washed, dried and folded, same day - about $35 CDN dollars. Nice Asian lady.
Parking was down the road about a 5 min walk, $10 cdn dollar for 24 hours. We did not have breakfast included so can't provide feedback on that.

The hotel was easily found down the hill from the railway station and perfectly located next to the River Ness, very near to the cathedral and opposite the castle. The cycle path running to the Ness Canal and Loch Ness are right in front. There is a selection of places to eat and drink in the surrounding area. We had breakfast in the hotel.
The room had to be changed from a double as I had asked for twin beds and was offered a room for disabled guests. This was fine but a few minor maintenance items let the bathroom down. We looked down onto an untidy kitchen yard.

I booked to stay as I was taking part in the Loch Ness Marathon. The location was perfect, right in the centre and a 10 minute walk to the event village for the marathon and pick up point for the busses to get to the start line. The hotel was very pricy for what it is but I put that down to the huge event being on and expecting it. A lot of reviews I read had said it was in a poor state of repair and unclean which made me apprehensive but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes it is a little dated but everything is in working order, clean, tidy and comfortable. Only area I felt could benefit a good dust was behind the telly which I only seen as we used our firestick when there and had to plug it in. I requested a river view room and it was perfect, facing the front to the river and castle. The bed was super comfortable with hard and soft pillow options which my partner and I really appreciated! As frequent hotel stayers, we hate when it is only a squishy soft pillow provided as we both prefer the firm options. Can’t comment on breakfast as I was up and out at 6am but all in all, I would recommend and stay again.
The only issue we really had was a little bit of noise. We could hear the upstairs room walking around quite a lot as we settled for an early night and also a bit of noise from the bar/restaurant downstairs that travelled in via our window (which I opened for some fresh air, so may be ok when shut). Could benefit a little upgrading but it wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Great location right on the river in Inverness — easy to walk to restaurants and attractions. Great old-school vibe, and lots of choices for breakfast to help fuel the day.
We had two rooms, and the space and comfort varied wildly between the two. Read the descriptions carefully. We had splurged on the Ness Suite so we had space for us all to be together and were really thankful not just for the large couches but also the big bathroom so our family in the much, much smaller room could take advantage.

We stayed in the Columba on the last night of a nearly 3 week vacation. There is a large, comfortable room on the second (?) floor that we used to finish up cheese, sausage and such before departing, and it was a wonderful, relaxing spot. Our room was comfortable and clean. There are a lot of steps to the various levels in this hotel, and even using the elevator there are some rooms that will require a few steps and some zig zagging around. We are fully capable of that, but some might not be, esp if you are dragging around enormous bags, which we weren’t. Friendly desk personnel, and an altogether pleasant stay!
The steps between some levels could be challenging for some.

It was perfect for our overnight stop in inverness, before we travelled on to Skye the hotel is in the centre of inverness well situated and there was a lot in the hotel there was a bar on street front and to the rear there was a restaurant. Due to onward travels we didn't get a chance to use ether but as busy and looked very nice from what we seen.
bed could be better, the room was little dated but for the price point and location this was reflected in the rate very happy with the price vs quality.

Location was excellent, right on the riverfront, 2 minutes walk from the cathedral, close to public transport, shops and dining. Beds were very comfortable, room spacious and warm, heater was very effective but hardly necessary . Breakfast had gluten free cereal but no nondairy milk, plenty of fruit, cooked and continental as well as porridge available. All seating was comfortable and there was an upstairs lounge which overlooked the river Ness
The decor could do with a little enhancement but did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. Most staff were very helpful and friendly which highlighted the couple of reception staff who were rather perfunctory in manner

The room was a standard double room. The linen and rooms were clean and tidy. The hotel was close to a Tesco, so that was great. It's not a long walk from the train station and restaurants and it's situated right on the River Ness which makes for a nice walk. The breakfast buffet was great and I had what was essentially a full Scottish breakfast.
The hallway floors are a bit creaky and while it can be fixed, it is somewhat expected from an old building.
