Facilities, staff and comfort were exceptional

The dinner on the first night was very poor and the quality was well outside the price range set. This made us decide to eat elsewhere the whole weekend.

Ease of access, specious throughout. The staff very friendly especially bar and front of house. Bed comfortable Breakfast was good. Good parking

Bedroom was not serviced through the day, despite label on door requesting service at 9am , had to ask for clean towels . Cups , glasses etc needed replaced. Eventually room serviced at 6pm. Room was a bit lacking :- full length mirror,better lighting over mirror for shaving in the bathroom. More pillows. No fridge. No room information , if you don’t want to use an app. Pool was was a bit murky and smaller than expected. Jacuzzi was too chlorinated, fumes stinging eyes. I felt guests should have automatically be given swimming towels without charge

Welcoming, warm decor in reception. The info about Robbie Burns visit when the hotel was a private house was interesting. The dining room, Whisky Bar and breakfasting restaurant again were bright airy and comfortable. Our room was bright and spacious with lovely views across the golf course. We ate on two evenings finding the food excellent, well seasoned and presented. The homemade soups at lunchtime were great ! The staff were welcoming, friendly (not intrusive) and we mentioned a few times to the staff on their professionalism and that their training showed, we had a slight issue with a crack in the shower stall in our room but was promptly dealt with. The hotel Manager himself moving us to another room without hesitation. We will definitely revisit the hotel and are happy to recommend the hotel to others xox

We were travelling with a dog and the hotel upgraded us to a Garden Room. The only downside was we were unable to leave the dog in the garden room to have breakfast but were unable to frequent the restaurant with our dog. They did indicate we could sit in the bar area at reception, however we chose to stay in the Garden Room and have the breakfast served to us there; with a tray charge. The room was clean however when we arrived there had been no heating on for a long period. We travelled in February, temperatures had been -3 during the night, so it did take the lodge a number of hours to warm up. The room was a little dated and although the to had free view, it was not a smart one.

This is a charming property with character but at the same time has modern fittings and a fresh, well-maintained feel. The room was extremely quiet and I had a very comfortable night. Breakfast was really good - a wide choice and everything fresh and nicely cooked. I also appreciated the ease of parking and proximity to the city centre (a 10/15 minute walk).

My room was in the old part of the property and involved going up-and-down sets of steps, which might be awkward with luggage. To be fair I was offered help with my bags upon checking in which I didn’t need on this occasion, but if visiting again with heavy luggage I’d take up the offer of assistance.

Good well maintained rooms, though some parts looked aged. Courteous staff overall. Good location and ample parking.

Pool and changing rooms maintenance didn't match rest of the hotel. Room Window hinges were weak. At check in, I was told breakfast was included by the staff (even after I rechecking, as my booking didn't say so). Next day morning (6 of us) we came in for breakfast and was told it was additional charge. Later in the day, when I expressed my experience to the lady at reception the response was casual 'I did say, but I don't know why I said so, sorry'.

Love the hotel, have used it on various occasions. Great staff, great breakfast. Nice overall atmosphere. Management or supervisors are very visible and look to be keeping every running to high standards but also give off a friendly vibe. We always book the garden rooms, we love the privacy that comes with it and doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel with the stunning open garden views.

The only improvement I can suggest is updating the media in the rooms. The hotel don’t provide access to Netflix, prime etc for residents to log into. We like to bring our own fire stick to use as this option isn’t available but being able to use this on the more dated televisions was difficult. A wall mounted HDMI point would make this much easier. This is a small issue but when we are staying for multiple nights it’s nice to have access to the modern ways to access TV/movies that we have became accustomed too.

Staff, atmosphere, nice dining & lounge bar.

We booked for Christmas meal in the evening of Christmas day & it was absolutely terrible.The seat we were given was in the conservatory with no outlook & very cold.There was no butter on table for roll, meal was cold & we had to continually ask for things.We understand it is manic at this time but the price we paid was not cheap. We also couldn't believe the amount of dogs that were in the hotel.At one point we were surrounded by them in the reception & also barking in rooms. We have stayed before & never experienced so many dogs.We feel it is a bit ridiculous with the standard of hotel it is.

Booked a stay here so we could visit friends and family . Stayed with our 4month old, travel cot provided in the room for her. All the staff were amazing so welcoming always smiling and all very polite. The room was spotless and oh my that shower was amazing could have stayed in there for hours ( I want one in my house now ) I loved the shampoo and conditioner provided in the room, great quality and smelt amazing, I also liked that it wasn't just those silly small bottles that you would normally get in hotels. Breakfast was amazing great value great quality and so much choice on the buffet section. I liked that you can also choose to have extras cooked for you eg eggs Benedict. I would 100% stay here again one of the best places I have stayed in a long time . Thank you for a lovely weekend.

The room was lovely and clean bed was comfortable, the breakfast was lovely.

The swimming pool wasn't the cleanest. I was a little disappointed in the state of the changing room floors- there was hair and mud everywhere- you had to walk through the pool with your shoes on to get into the changing rooms. There was a family with young children in the pool at the same time as us and they where jumping in and splashing everyone in the pools face I felt like I couldn't relax and didn't end up using the pool facilities again even though this was the main reason to staying here.
