What does trouble look like when it starts? You end up in a Scottish village on a Saturday night with a road cone on your head. Which is a crown from a local girl who had just enough to welcome you to the new place. To add insult to injury, there was a bunch of Important People who booked out half of the hotel and ate all the food at breakfast. I called them the 'cultists'. Sorry, guys and girls. Looked like you were. And this is no complaint, only bragging, because I had the best time of my life at Lovat Arms Hotel. There was enough room to stretch your legs after wandering around Culloden Moor, Enough drinks and stories to fill you up with inspiration for years to come. But never enough of the beauty that surrounds you when you're inside. The fireplace, the china on the walls, the carpet in the lobby with, well, a Lovat Arms crest? The lingering doubt that you feel as an amateur sleuth, trying to discover the house' s secrets. I know some things for sure, but I still need to get a book about that. Maybe something on Fraser heraldry? ______ Be sure to go to Beauly Priory and ponder about the centuries past. Be respectful to your thoughts and the environment. Rest up after the day trip in a hotel room with a favorite book. There's surely a lot to process and Lovat Arms gives you the quiet of the Scottish Highlands that you are looking for. Don't prioritize the cultists., We humble wandering travelers want the attention, too!! Just joking. N-o-t-h-i-n-g could ruin my vacation mood, you know.

We were accommodated in the lovely Arts and Crafts annexe building behind the main hotel and restaurant in a spacious ground floor bedroom. Although breakfast was not included in our tariff we had free access to a brand new kitchen with drinks making facilities, milk, cereals, bread, butter and marmalade/jam provided for us to help ourselves if we wanted. We had booked to stay over the Christmas period and although our booking had been registered when the hotel was actually closed for the holidays, the manager honoured our booking and he and his team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had a most enjoyable time

This is an old building and might benefit from a couple of additional power sockets near to the bedside tables if this is feasible. There was an excellent television in the room, but Freeview reception in this area is very erratic (not the fault of the hotel!) The over-bath shower was excellent but, a non-slip shower mat might be worth considering

Nice old style hotel. Room was nice and clean and although over looked road the road was quiet overnight so no issue. No car park as such just spaces off the road in front of hotel. I parked ok as i arrived early. Not sure if there are enough spaces. Located in a lovely little village. Coop and a few take aways if needed. Near to river for a walk.

£25 for a dog I thought was a bit excessive. Cereal choice limited, no weetabix or muesli. Just three flakes options and toast. There was a cooked breakfast, including vegetarian option. £12

The staff were all super helpful. Especially the bar lady. This property is pet friendly which is a win for me. The room was spacious with plenty room for my dog’s bed.

My room was above the bar which was noisy. Thankfully I didn’t mind but it could be a problem for others - ask for a quiet room to be sure. I’d booked a family room through booking dot come as it was all that was left but I was given a twin room. Again - not a problem for me as a solo traveller but should I have had family with me it would have been a major problem.

Well located not far from Inverness and on main roads. Room was comfortable enough but tired looking. A fair price I suppose given that rooms in Inverness are at a premium at this time of year. Breakfast was good.

Parking not so easy. Bathroom light didn’t work and couldn’t be replaced. In fairness the staff gave us a refund for breakfast because of the inconvenience.

Very very helpful and friendly staff, I arrived really late for check-in, they were waiting for me without any complaints and also gave me a tour of the hotel to access each facility of it. I really like their hospitality and service and I would love to come back and recommend this. The rooms were very nice and spacious. I liked the décor of the rooms.

The staff were lovely and service amazing. Great wifi and located in a friendly beautiful town. The rooms were comfy and well appointed. So happy we stayed here and will come back and recommend to others.

Mattress a springs a little to hard but non the less slept well shower drain off was very slow so found yourself standing in a pool of water but shower was hot and clean

Enjoyable stay at the Lovat Arms Hotel. Room was of a high standard with good en-suite facilities. Dinner was of a high standard with friendly staff.

Perhaps more options at breakfast time eg more variety in the types of cornflakes, fresh fruit etc.

Beautiful, traditional decor with lots of interesting features. Great shower, good-sized room, plenty of storage. Quiet, but very centrally located. Easy check-in and check-out and staff were friendly. Unfortunately didn't have a meal there so can't comment on that.

The only minor complaint was that the bed was a bit hard.
