The location was peaceful and quiet, just off the road, perfect for visiting Arouca 516 suspension bridge and Paiva Walkways. We received a very warm welcome and shown the shared kitchen facilities. Breakfast was left in the fridge to help ourselves, cold meat, cheese, fruit juice. Fresh bread rolls delivered daily. And … a very large home baked cake which was delicious. A very kind gesture. A fresh one was left for each set of visitors. A very busy baker! Obrigado! We will recommend to friends and family.

Nicely laid out, use of kitchen facilities, good wifi & space to relax. The owners were very helpful accommodating our late arrival & told us to relax when we were trying to check out on time which was lovely. The fresh eggs & rolls for breakfast were a delicious.

Nothing to really dislike other than the shower temperature not being quite as hot as I’d like but it was still perfectly adequate.

Great location for exploring hiking trails and hanging bridge nearby. Clean, comfortable, quiet and well maintained. Delicious welcome cake. Perfect value for money. We were lucky to be the only guests and had all the place for ourselves (normally guests of three different rooms share kitchen and living room). We had a very pleasant breakfast at the balcony with pleasant rural views.

Not really a criticism, only some comments for your info. Owners do not speak any foreign language, but we didn’t have any problems with this. At check in they brought written notes with instructions in English and in French. Breakfast is simple but sufficient. The hosts provide tea/coffee, fresh bread, cheese, ham and butter. You have kitchen to make an omelette or something else more sophisticated if you like, but remember to bring ingredients.

A haven of peace and tranquility. The rooms are very comfortable and everything is very clean and tidy. The lady owner was very nice and had even baked a cake for us on arrival. The property also has a balcony with fabulous views. It is in the perfect location for visiting the Arouca 516 suspension bridge. Would not hesitate to return.

We could fault the place

Lovely peaceful stay. Well equipped Kitchen. We were met by the host, no English spoken but we communicated well. Guesthouse beautiful and clean. Good parking. Ponte 516 Areinho side car park is 3 minutes drive. There is a Cafe there in the car park with decent food, we ate there the night of our stay and not much else close. Sponge was a brilliant added bonus

Hot water temperature could be turned up a bit

quiet place in the mountains. a cozy village house with a friendly hostess. although she doesn't speak english, there was no problem communicating with her. nearby is a pleasant local restaurant with friendly service.

a little bit older equipment but clean and functional. bed is wide and comfortable.

Super friendly hosts first of all. We forgot a coat in the room which wasn’t realised until we were far away. The problem was solved by support of the hosts who sent the coat by post. The room we rent was nice and clean. The breakfast was perfect, it contained all you want before hiking in the mountains.

1. Very close to Arouca 516 Bridge , easy to get there 2. There is some food and cakes in the kitchen . You can eat it whenever you want 3. The owner is kind and helpful and they can arrange the taxi transfer for you

We stayed 2 nights to do the 516 Arouca suspension bridge and Paiva walk. We were welcomed with a coffee and the best sponge cake ever. Bread was delivered each morning and a basic breakfast of cheese ham and juice was available to help yourself. We had enough to pack an extra roll for our walk. There is a restaurant 100m down the road that we ate at both nights. The food there was basic but very nice. The owners were lovely. We had the house to ourselves for the two nights, so could use the kitchen and sit in the lounge to watch TV. Great place.

The flies were bad. Fly spray was provided, but it would be good to have fly screens on the windows so the windows could be left open. But we would highly recommend this place.

Perfect location for visiting suspension bridge & hiking trail; about 2 km from trailhead. Kitchen at disposal. The host provides all you need for breakfast, including fresh bread in the morning. Easy to find and park. The host speaks only Portuguese, but is versatile in non- verbal communication; additionally, she has a paper with all essential instructions in English.
