Location was only a few minutes walk from the Hirayu onsen bus stop. There are 2 private onsens to choose from, free of charge for guests to use. They serve free traditional breakfast with great presentation. The hosts kindly hold luggage before and after your stay. Traditional yukata and haori are provided for all guests and traditional slippers too. Free cookies and tea are provided.

The rooms have thin walls so you can hear other guests, talking, walking etc. If you are a light sleeper, wear earplugs. The room halls and bathroom also have squeaky floors.

I loved everything about my stay. I took the room with the private toilets and shower. It was so modern and clean, yet still very Japanese designed. They thought of everything! The room had all i needed. Even the lighting at the sink - was perfect for make up! The room was HUGE and could easily fit 3 futon beds. The lighting was so warm - loved the Led lights around the tatami stage!!! I stayed for two nights. On the first breakfast, i told the staff i can’t eat some stuff (pork and more). On the second breakfast, they remembered everything i said and prepared a breakfast especially for my needs!!! It was so lovely. I used the onsen only once - it was very relaxing

The ONLY thing that might be less convenient for others(I personally didn’t have any problems with that) Is that only one window has “blinds”. Notice that natural light enters the room at all times.

Everything, the dinner and breakfast was probably the best Ryokan food I ever had (and I had many). The location was so close to everything, especially the bus station, and on the way we could always say hello to Taro-kun, the village shiba. It was also really nice to be able to enjoy the private onsen with my partner. I think the owners should also update the booking.com profile and add photos of the onsen and food as it would be beneficial, I have booked this based on the great reviews on both Google and Booking.com, but some people may pass on this lovely ryokan due to lack of photos.

That we stayed only one night and I ate a croquette at the bus station earlier and didn't have more space for the dinner

There was a lot to like about Oyado Eitaro. The location is very convenient - only a five (maybe less) minute walk from the bus center. We dropped off our luggage before checking in and later found the bags in our room. The dinner was a wonderful experience and was probably some of the best food we had on our trip. It was a great way to try many different dishes, all of them well prepared. Breakfast was a similar experience. Both the public and private onsens were very relaxing and very clean. Overall an amazing experience. If we ever come back to the area, we’ll be looking to rebook Oyado Eitaro.

This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.

The only issue is that there isn't much in town - there's a general store but no konbini. Meals at the hotel are expensive but amazing and need to be booked in advance.

The food at this place was quite incredible - so many different dishes and the staff so helpful in explaining how to eat them. The private onsen was in a lovely outdoor setting. Our room was comfy (although didn’t personally like the style of pillows) and very quiet at night and it’s just a short walk to the bus stop to get that first bus (6.30am) to Kamikochi. Totally recommend staying here.

Very close to the bus station, we stopped here on our way from Matsumoto to Takayama. Japanese-style room (ryokan), on the table a Japanese tea set (a teapot and bowls) with good sencha tea is waiting. The available natural hot springs are a great place to rest and relax. Meals in an atmospheric atmosphere in a yakuta with haori. Dinner is really delicious, quite decent fine dining. Breakfast is equally good.

I do not recall any inconveniences.

Extremely friendly and helpful staffs that made our stay a memorable and enjoyable one! It seems like a small-scale, family-run ryokan which turns out to be our best stay of the trip. Hospitality, food and cleanliness were top-notch. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious with generous portions. The location is right next to Hirayu onsen bus terminal.

Nothing!

Location is perfectly close to Hirayu bus station. Very large room compared to other facility in Japan. Private onsen available if noone is using. Great services including abundant Japanese breakfast. Besides hotel onsen, you also get free voucher to use public onsen near by, which usually costs 700 yen per person. It is a hotel where the owner takes good care of and pays attention to details. Good restaurants near by in case you want to have more options

Location is perfect as its near to the Bus Terminal and small restaurants. The dine-in meals (breakfast and dinner) is good. The accommodation though is simple but it provides all the necessity and very clean. The futons are comfy and the accommodation has an inhouse family onsen.

Nothing to dislike.
