Sally and Ian were exceptional hosts. They welcomed us like family members and made us feel at home throughout our visit. The breakfast was tasty and nutritious, and was so filling that we were able to skip lunch and spend more time sightseeing. Lindean Guest House was immaculately presented and our room was very comfortable. Sally and Ian went the "extra mile" throughout our stay to make our experience first class.

There was nothing we didn't like. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

Authentic architectural style and use of local materials. The bed and breakfast layout makes my stay like home. Very clever key arrangement to make access very convenient and easy to go in and out at anytime. My friend and I had the entire front dining room to enjoy the tranquility in the beautiful room for our breakfast. Two separate bathrooms for two of us in a twin room which was fantastic! Comfortable stay. Clean. Good wifi. Good provision of water and drinks. Fantastic selection of tea. Very good freshly cooked breakfast. It has all I need. The host is very friendly and thoughtful. They have offered us restaurant recommandations and sightseeing advices which was immensely helpful. Well balanced in being attentive to our needs and leaving us to our own privacy.

Nothing really. All good for my stay. I slept well like a baby. If I have to be picky - then adding an inset mesh curtain will make the room perfect although I have not suffered from any flies or mosquitos as I drew the curtain down before I switched the lights on at night.

Lindean Guest House was a short walk from the train station and a short walk from there to the town centre. The breakfast choices covered all nutritional requirements and was delicious! The room was comfortable and had lots of extras to make us feel welcome. We had a selection of teas, coffee and biscuits. Extra toiletries were available if required. The rooms were immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts Ian and Sally were very attentive yet also discreet. They gave us great suggestions of what to see and do in the area.

The location was great, just four minutes (walking) to the train station and less than ten minutes to downtown. We were greeted by our hosts, Sally and Ian, and immediately felt at home. What a charming couple. The room was comfortable and cheery, very clean, and we loved the chair by the window. Breakfasts were very good and very fresh and we enjoyed them immensely. Sally's recommendations on things to see and do were spot on and well suited to our visit.

Not often lost for words but I am this time! Absolutely fantastic place,Ian and Sally could not do enough for you.Everything was just right and every detail thought of. My wife is vegan and was not only catered for brilliantly but even had her own box of snacks etc in our room. Breakfast amazing and using top notch ingredients and freshly cooked. Three minute walk from train station but set on a very quiet road.Five minute walk into Dumfries centre. We came on train but I could see no problem in off road parking at the front. And I said I was lost for words.......

As we say in these parts....nowt!

This is the best appointed B&B perhaps I've ever stayed at, and it's because the owners are serious travelers themselves, and they provide all the amenities you can think of, and more. And they are wonderfully engaging people. A delightful stop in an incredibly historic and fun town.

Everything was super.

Sally and Ian made us feel welcome from the get go by responding to any questions we had pre-arrival. Their guest house is fabulous, their attention to detail is impeccable and all of our team who stayed there would like to recommend Lindean Guesthouse to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Dumfries - be it for work or on holiday! Location is perfect, the guest house itself is in a lovely street; close to town centre, River Nith and very close to the train station too. Breakfast 15 out of 10 each time, there is something available for all dietary requirements and were happy to add in any extra requests. It was both delicious and cooked to perfection by Sally. The hosts always greeted us with a friendly face; rooms were perfect and the beds very comfortable - especially what we needed after working the long hours we did at the UCI Cycling World Championships. Definitively, a place I'd like to book in to when revisiting Dumfries in the future!

As usual the hosts, Sally & Ian, were truly exemplary. They offer a traditional or specific breakfast; the common room small frig holds, a yoghurt, juice, etc., if a person feels a need. They even produced an alarm clock for myself, for an early morning to meet 2 trains. We had a couple of chats, as they had met and enjoyed the company of my cousin, who was not well. The rooms and the whole entity are so clean that a nurse could not find fault. Everything has been modernized (ie a vanity mirror that is magically lighted!!!). I would say that they run a 'tight ship', but with humour and kindness at the fore.

The fact that I could not stay a longer period.

Absolutely first class in all respects...including the hosts! Ian and Sally are wonderful and attentive hosts. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We have traveled extensively in Britain, Europe and North America and this is one of the nicest B&Bs we have experienced. Highly recommended.

There was nothing to dislike.

We loved the property and location. Easy parking and our hosts, Sally & Ian were friendly & welcoming. The property is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious with period features. There was an excellent choice of refreshments in the room. Breakfast is outstanding with fresh fruit and an excellent choice of cooked food . Mr had a full cooked breakfast and for myself the smaller version for smaller appetites. We highly recommended staying here , excellent value for money ( correction a bargain). We will definitely stay here again
