The hotel is situated in the middle of the town. It’s convenient to access everywhere. I’ve a lovely view of the Hohes Schloss across my window. The room is cozy and spacious, with a little sofa in the corner. I especially love the bathroom. There are lots of shelves and space to move around inside the bathroom, and most importantly the water doesn’t leak out from the shower. The staffs are also really friendly and helpful. There’s also a lovely restaurant below the hotel which is a convenient place to have dinner. Love the free breakfast provided as well too.

Might want to highlight to the guests that the check in ends at 19:30. Sometimes there’s changes to travel plans and it takes time to travel over as well.

Altstadt-Hotel Zum Hechten is fantastic. A family run business and it shows, their welcoming, care of guests, attention to detail and ultra friendly staff were amazing. The room was spacious and incredibly clean. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet ensuring a good nights sleep. The bathroom was large and modern. The breakfast had a wide variety to choose from, which should suit everyone and I still think about the golden, light flaky pastry with apple, they served at breakfast, hands down the best pastry we had in two weeks in Germany (and we hit up numerous bakeries). We ate in their restaurant which was also very good and served traditional food. Would love to stay here again, should we ever find ourselves back in Füssen.

Worth every penny and would highly recommend! We were a couple with a 4-year old and an elderly friend with some mobility limitations. The staff greeted us and helped us find out reserved parking easily; we were RIGHT in old town (very easy to come out and back when we needed to rest); we had comfortable beds and plenty of room; the breakfast was "one of the best I have ever had-- and the most beautiful" according to our well-traveled friend; the restaurant was EXCEPTIONAL. Great value and would absolutely stay here again!

I wish we could have stayed longer!

The location in the old town area was perfect and they have parking available at nominal cost (it's not a large parking area, so booking ahead is recommended). It's only a few minutes walk to the local Füssen castle and the hotel is situated amongst all the main streets in the old town. The staff was top notch and very helpful with local information. The rooms were large and exceeded all expectations for both comfort and cleanliness (ours even had a small balcony). They also accommodated all our needs for our 23 month old grandson and accompanying family. The included breakfast came with lots of choices and the eating area was large and the service was great. In addition to all of that, they allowed us to leave our car parked for longer without any extra cost while we visited the castles. We would not only go there again if we were in the area, but would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially when visiting the nearby Neu Schwanstein or Hohenschwangau Castles.

Friendly staff, quick check in. Received a card for local buses. Breakfast included was very nice with lots of options. Room was quaint and lovely. Location is perfect right in the centre of the town. For the price I believe this was an absolute bargain, should I return to Füssen I will be coming back to this hotel as it exceeded my expectations.

The only downsides some may find are: no air con (however this wasn't an issue even in 30°C for me) and the pillow was very thin (not an issue for me as I just folded it, but some may need to ask for a fatter one at reception)

Almost everything!! The staff was amazing, the room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed!! Amazing shower. The breakfast options were very nice and well thought out. We dined in the restaurant the first night and it was very nice too. Location is right in the heart of the old city center and so is close to many of the shops, restaurants and pharmacies. Would stay here again and again

Really nothing - the staff had written in advance about how to find the parking lot, which is directly behind the hotel but because of the small winding and one way roads , and even with the map can be tricky to find for a first-timer to Füssen. We had to park in front of the hotel while my husband had to clarify how to find it. But that’s on us, not the hotel.

Great situation. Lovely rooms. Tasty breakfast. Good restaurant attached (but separately run).

Chain smoker on the balcony below ours meant we couldn’t open the windows or use our balcony - frustrating but smoking laws obviously different from ours so just bad luck. City tax paid on leaving has to be cash - would’ve been good to be told that on arrival as needed dash to ATM!

The hotel was conveniently located in a pedestrian area in the Altstadt 10 mins walk from the railway station. We had upgraded to a superior room, so there was plenty of space, a sitting area and a small balcony. The breakfast room was extravagantly decorated and the choice of fruit, cereals, eggs, meats, cheese, breads and cakes was extensive. It was great to have a Fussen card to access the local bus service for free

No room safe

Breakfast was exceptional, better than the river cruise boat and it was very good. I arrived late, just after 10:00 because a train on one leg of the trip had mechanical problems and I had to be rerouted. The 7 hr trip became a 14 hr. trip. Thank goodness the receptionist had stayed lste. If she hadn't, I don't know what I would have done. Her attempts to email me and my attempts to reach the hotel didn't work because I just arrived from Basel so I hadn't yet purchased a German SIM card. Maybe you should think of what people can do under those and similar circumstances.

A small refrigerator in each room would be helpful. All the hotels up to that point had them. More pillows would be nice since I need to prop my legs up. More shelves in the bathroom to hold all the stuff women need, as well as for daily medications.

This was my third visit to Fussen and the first time in this hotel, for sure I would stay here again if I had to revisit. Staff: All the people I came in contact with at the hotel were very nice, helpful and customer friendly; both the reception staff and the lady at the breakfast area. Breakfast: The breakfast was excellent, with a great choice for both sweet and savoury. A bonus touch was that the lady brings you a coffee pot on the table and also asked if we needed more, such an excellent service.

The only minor issue was that I booked for two single beds and got a large double. I had wrote it in advance as I was travelling with my mother. I do understand that it is also according to availability and since it was only for a one night stay we could easily cope with it. Other than that, no faults can be found with the hotel and I would highly recommend it.
