Superb team and beautiful Wellness Suite Loved this hotel. Extremely helpful team across the whole stay. Compact but beautifully & quirkily decorated room and also in all areas of the hotel. The whole establishment is a delightful homage to King Ludwig and his favourite Composer Richard Wagner with so many photos, art pieces and memorabilia dotted around. Everything feels like it’s all been thoughtfully done for the interest and delight of the guests. The highlight of our stay was the wellness suite. After a chilly visit to the beautiful castle nearby, to be able to arrive back at the hotel and change into our soft & snuggly bathrobes and pop to the wellness suite was divine. I enjoyed the steam room and both saunas before relaxing on a lounger listening to serene birdsong and zen like music! I actually dozed off which is a rarity for me. We spent a couple of hours in there, feeling totally relaxed and enjoying the free refreshments. The hotel’s Riwa restaurant is frequented by many Locals and has a busy, buzzy, friendly atmosphere. The food was typical and delicious, made and cooked fresh to order. My white Asparagus soup, a favourite of mine, was the best home made I have ever tasted. We were lucky it’s in season right now. The breakfast selection in the Riwa was superb and laid out beautifully. The only issue we had during our stay was simply that I could not turn the heat up on my room but once I asked the reception staff it was immediately corrected and switched onto ‘heat’ mode rather than cool. The area had just recently experienced high temps and sunshine which very quickly had switched to cold and snow (which was magical and made the area even prettier!). The Hotel is at the beginning of the old city shopping street ! As you arrive yo immediately see THE WELL SIGN POSTED Check in PARKING ! One reviewer apparently could not see the car park which I think is very clear and easy to find ! The reception staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and gave us the underground parking pass . The hotel is very clean and has very nice decor ! The rooms are clean spacious and the beds are comfortable . The room was quiet we all slept well. The breakfast was extensive and the bread selection as usual in Germany was very very fresh. There is a live cooking station and the omelette was excellent. My regret was we only stayed one night . An excellent hotel in a beautiful Bavarian City .

I did encounter a few challenges during my stay. The parking situation at the hotel is quite tight, which can make it difficult to maneuver larger vehicles. Additionally, I found that the payment process was somewhat inconvenient; I was unable to complete my payment during the booking and was required to settle the bill upon arrival. Maybe the issue was from booking.com am not sure. Moreover, one of the more disappointing aspects of our trip was the limited dining options for halal cuisine. There was only one halal restaurant in proximity to the hotel, and unfortunately, the staff there were not very accommodating and had difficulty communicating in English. This made for a less enjoyable dining experience, particularly for those seeking specific dietary options.

Room is very big and has a balcony with some partial snow capped mountain views. And we saw the first snow fall at the balcony. Breakfast area is very prettily designed and breakfast is really good with freshly made eggs of your choice and a wide variety of bread and croissants, warm dishes and fresh fruits, and coffee is good! One of the best hotel breakfasts we have come across. Short walk to Fuessen old town and lots of eateries around. Short drive to the Hohenschwangau village (to get to the castle).

Room has a step down from the entrance, so older folks have to be careful once you open the door to the room. Pillows are too soft. Carpets are stained, insufficient counter space in the toilet. Underground carpark is provided at 13 Euros a night but both entrance to the carpark and the carpark lots are very narrow, so need to inform the hotel in advance if you are driving a big car.

Hotel Sonne is close to the railway station which was perfect. We were initially put in a room that someone had obviously smoked in but they were happy to transfer us to an alternative room immediately.The Hotel provided a Fussen card which provided discounted or free entry to some of the museum's and on the buses, especially the ones going to the castles which was very handy. The restaurant Riwa is ideal for lunch/dinner but you are advised to book, as it gets very busy. Perfectly placed for walking around the pretty town.

No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, if you' haven't got breakfast included, this would have been nice to have first thing in the morning, however we found a lovely bakery/cafe at the station which is a lot cheaper if you don't want to pay for the full breakfast option at the hotel.

Breakfasts were excellent. It had variety, both hot and cold. The servers were quick to clear used plates. The restaurant space was spacious. The hotel location was excellent. It was 5 minutes walk from the main train station and bus station. The hotel gave out the Fusen bus passes for the day that we were there to get to the castles' main parking lot.

The guests should not have to ask or inquire about getting the complimentary Fussen passes. Why did the hotel ask us to fill out our birthday information when we checked in?

The hotel has gone through an amazing renovation and the rooms are all very nice. They are quiet and our room was very spacious. An unexpected highlight was the balcony which would be delightful throughout most seasons. Beautifully decorated throughout. The games rooms was enjoyed by many through out our stay.

The pillows are almost non existent and really need to be upgraded. They were like clouds that disappeared when you lied down on them - poof no pillow just air. We had to stuff them with our own sweaters to make them comfortable. The menu in the restaurant really favours vegans and vegetarians, would have preferred some standard fair as well.

The staff at this hotel are incredibly nice and helpful. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure the stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request truly stood out. The room was clean and well-appointed, providing a cozy and relaxing environment after a long day of cycling.

While the food was delicious and beautifully presented, I would appreciate more vegetarian options. Adding a few more plant-based dishes would cater to a wider range of dietary preferences and enhance the overall breakfast experience.

This was one of our favourite hotels on our 7 week trip. The staff were exceptional and their kindness and thoughtfulness really helped to make our stay special. They provided excellent tips about what to do in the area and for visiting different places. The room we stayed in was roomy and had great facilities. The restaurant and food was exceptional and had a really good vibe to it.

The parking is a little bit limited and we originally had to park in an offsite parking area so let them know if you would like parking onsite. They could not have been more helpful with organising parking onsite though as soon as it was available.

Our stay was an absolute delight. Staff were so helpful from start to finish with any of our inquiries. Beds comfortable. Very quiet despite front of hotel being on a roundabout. I am notmally a fan of eating away from hotel to explore, but this restaurant at hotel was so good we dined thefe on both nights of our stay. Hotel also has a games room with a pool table and an honesty system room for drinks and snacks where you just put your room number and what you have on a piece of paper and settle at the end. Great breakfast too and also secure parking on site for €12 a night. Loved it! ❤️❤️❤️
