The hotel was only about 10minute walk from the old town and there was a lovely walk also up to the castle through woodland. The gentleman on reception was extremely welcoming and helpful, he even offered to give us a bigger room when he saw we were friends travelling together and not a couple. He also let us check in early so that we could leave our bags and also let us leave them in day of departure. Although they didn’t serve breakfast or dinner there were drinks and snacks available to buy including hot ones and we were given a list of places to eat and a map of the city.

Very nice location a bit away from the busy town center and close to the marvellous Altenburg castle with a great view of it from the room windows. Friendly personell, cozy furnishings and rooms. Overall, a very solid experience for its price

The hotel offers no breakfast since January 2023, but I'm not a fan of breakfasts, so that wasn't a problem for me. The bathroom was a bit run-down, but it was still quite alright for the price.

The elevator doesn't reach the top floor and it's difficult with luggage. The place is located on a top of a hill and you have to go up for a while when walking from the city centre.

Bamberg is absolutely beautiful, hotel in quiet location, nice 10 minute walk into Bamberg, uphill walk back or there is a bus stop nearby that we used when carrying luggage. Friendly helpful staff, traditional hotel, would recommend, we didn’t have breakfast.

Hotel in Brutalist style - all rooms with balcony. Rooms fitted in original high quality wooden furniture; a great change from 'boutique' decoration.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel was a bit old but clean and well cared. Free parking was as well a great advantage.
