It’s located in a very well preserved colonial building, with a vintage air which makes it very cosy as well, room was perfect for us 4 (2 adults one 5 and 1 yeast old kids), big beds, big bath and a window facing the interior “garden” (think it’s the only room with one), Terrace (on the roof) is cute as well.

Just to put something here, think the breakfast offering could be improved, it’s all sweets (not to healthy either, especially if you have kids), the cereals with milk could be an option, aside, there is coffee and sweet yogurt and toasted bread with butter and some apples, that’s it.

Very nice small posada, family atmosphere. Bedrooms were clean, beds were comfortable, the decoration was simple and tasteful. AC was functioning well. Staff are very helpful and nice. Good location, a couple of blocks from the town center and at walking distance to the colonial main sites. We enjoyed the terrace overlooking the river, although unfortunately a building is being built just next to the Posada, blocking most of the view. A real pity. We didn’t use the bikes that are offered to guests for free, but it’s a great idea to enjoy the rambla views.

Free Breakfast consists mainly of a generous tray of home-made sweet pastries and toast. We are Uruguayan and we enjoyed the sweet variety, but having lived in the US for over 15 years, we missed some savory options, eggs or cheese. Some apples, yogurt and orange juice were also available and included in the breakfast.

Breakfast was excellent and there was purified water and lemonade available all day.....The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The location was excellent just a short walk to the old town. I would stay again. I needed to change the dates once I made the reservation but was unable to. I think I should have been accommodated...It was only one night but still.....I am not sure if that was a result of Booking.com, who I have had problems with in the past or the actual hotel...Anyway that was my only dissatisfaction.

A very beautiful place, with a delightful courtyard where the scent of jasmin and hummingbirds greet you on arrival. And where you can sit and relax. The room was pleasant, comfortable and clean. Great to have free bikes to enjoy getting out of the old quarter and to the beach!

The breakfast was very disappointing: lots of sugary, highly processed and rather stale stuff. The biggest disappointment was the terrace: having seen the pictures of it, we were so looking forward to sitting there, to relax and take in the view of the river. But most unfortunately, another hotel is being built right in front of it, causing noise and totally blocking the view. Sad for us, and most upsetting for the owners of this lovely old building full of character. I can’t even understand how it’s allowed, especially in a World Heritage Site.

The posada is delightful. Rooms are arranged around a patio with flowering plants and a fountain. The rooms are decorated in a light country style, not very spacious and clean. The ladies managing the place are nice and helpful. The posada is conveniently located so that you can easily walk to the center and marine promenade.

The breakfast was only sweet, good, but lacking any savoury options. I think they should make the effort of cleaning the room's walls from the traces of smashed mosquitos, as the are quite gross.

Location was excellent, at the end of a dead end street with no traffic noise. But right around the corner from the main street filled with restaurants and the barrio historico. Beds were very comfortable and nice hot shower.

Breakfast was plentiful, but the same each morning. Cereal and heavy on the pastries. No fruit or youghurt. Remember to bring mosquito spray as they are plentiful throughout the city.

Charming old building on a side street overlooking the water from some rooms, over the lovely courtyard for others. Bags of wonderful character with wooden floors, doors and window shutters all with antique fittings. Shower and bathroom are all equipped with modern fittings, which worked well, although the shower drain was a bit slow. Beds were comfortable and room was spotlessly clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to store our luggage safely until the check-in time.

Unfortunately our room, Santa Rita, was above the reception area so we could clearly hear everyone checking in. Still, that wasn't a major issue except when trying to siesta around 2pm. Also the steps up to the room could be a challenge for some. Also, as of April 2023 there is extensive renovation and construction going on at the neighboring buildings so it was sometimes noisy but never too early or late. Not the fault of the hotel, I realise, but good to know. Breakfasts had only sweet options, but with a nice variety of pastries. Coffee was very good and juice and toast were also available. Some protein would have been nice however.

We would have preferred fewer sweet options for breakfast. An egg dish with plain toast/bread would be preferable but we realise the breakfast was designed to be self serve with little staff interaction. We usually don’t have sweet food/cakes and pastries for breakfast.

The location and the room were nice. Also the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is simple but good enough.

Unfortunatelly the hotels neighbors are construction sites and there is some noise during the day. it didn't break our plans as we used all the time to walk around town and visit Carmello. The external areas such as the rooftop could have a better maintenance.

One of my favourite places I stayed in Uruguay. A nice little guesthouse right in the middle of the historic center. The rooms are modern and spacious. Staff were very friendly. Easy to park your car in the street. Would stay here again.

The breakfast could do with a few more options. Like some ham/cheese, croissants, maybe eggs.
