We had an absolutely fantastic stay at both Hunters Country Lodge and Tsala Treetop Lodge in Plettenberg Bay. Nestled in beautifully manicured gardens and lush forest canopies, these lodges offer a serene and luxurious escape that exceeded all our expectations.Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of — from the cozy fireplace in the room to the delicious homemade treats delivered each evening. We were surprised with charming little gifts and poetic notes on our pillow every night — a truly personal and heartwarming touch. With three excellent restaurants to choose from, the culinary experience was outstanding. The food was delicious, and the wine list impressive. The decor throughout both properties is tasteful, elegant, and exquisitely curated. But above all, it was the exceptional staff who made our stay truly unforgettable. Warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile — nothing was too much to ask. Their dedication to guest comfort and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression. We will most certainly be back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined and soul-soothing getaway.

Great service from lovely staff - very welcoming, hospitable. Great explanation by the gentleman who greeted us on arrival. Breakfast was top-notch. Amazing, beautiful gardens and landscaping. The place has the feeling of an oasis, and it could be a great place to chill out for a few days. We can imagine it would be lovely to stay there during any season.

We really wished we could have experienced the quiet tranquility that Hunters Hotel offers. On the afternoon we arrived and the following morning, there was constant noise from grass/leave blowers, mowers, tractor, etc. It spoiled the experience for us. The food at Zinzi's was not to our liking. The dishes were innovative, but it may be better to stick to the original.

For us, Hunter’s had the WOW factor! Particularly, the grounds that are so lovingly maintained. It’s so peaceful but completely alive with all kinds of different birds and wildlife. There were baboons and deer roaming around outside our room which was a highlight for us! We chose a family suite which exceeded all our expectations. It was so spacious and homely and very clean. Loved the large entrance, separating the two rooms as it provides an ideal space for luggage. The decor and attention to detail is fantastic. The staff left a stuffed lion on the bed for our daughter and she absolutely over the moon. A really thoughtful touch! We also really liked the lounge area with the honesty bar, a perfect spot for an after dinner drink, as was the outdoor fire pit ☺️ We really enjoyed the meal we had a Zinzi- great food and wine and attentive staff. Breakfast is served in a gorgeous conservatory has a mixture of al a carte and buffet options.I nearly asked for their granola recipe as it was so good! We would love to return to this property! and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a homely environment. p.s The bathrobes are so nice and soft!

The only thing I would say is that the breakfast buffet could be better protected from flies. Also, I couldn’t have anything in the wardrobe as it smelled quite musty and damp. Minor issues in what was an excellent stay👍🏻

The accommodation is gorgeous, such a beautiful location and gardens. Our suite was really private and we loved the style of the interior. Very friendly staff, who help you in every way possible. Very family friendly too, the play house with its own pool is really nice. The gym has a great view and has airconditioning. We ordered the picnic basket, which was really lovely and was full of fresh food. The massages were also great. Would definitely recommend, especially with all the services they offer and the different restaurants on the property. We were sad to leave and would go again.

Lovely collection of thatched buildings and suites set in gorgeous gardens. The decor reminded me of "old Africa" but with a modern twist. Quiet location with some special visitors (wildlife). The breakfast was wonderful with every need met. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hot water bottles were a nice touch.

Breakfast room was chilly so we made sure to sit near the heat pump. our bedroom unit was also cold and we had to use the heat pump on full and open fireplace to keep the room warm enough.

We had the pleasure to stay in this beautiful hotel for 2 nights. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and spoilt us for our anniversary celebration. The room was beautiful, comfortable beds, lovely fire , very quiet and spacious. We enjoyed the turn down service at night with a poem and treat. Dinner was delicious, the food was excellent. Breakfast was great, so much to choose from, the buffet and menu. Thank you to all the staff , you made our stay so special.

Our welcome from Travis was flawless, he had everything arranged and organised before we could even ask about our room or luggage. He helped us to settle in and our luggage was ready and waiting in our room. All staff are very attentive and kind, nothing is a bother. The Sage restaurant food is top quality, this is one of the reason we travel and the food did not disappoint in any way. The menus were extensive and the bar area was relaxing and cosy.

They’re is nothing

Best hotel we have ever stayed in..so beautiful..everything you wish for and more. We came with our baby and everything was taking care of..it was an amazing stay. We will continue thinking about it until we will hopefully return. The staff was so so lovely, the different restaurants were great. The children’s area even has such a great and cosy ambiance. Surroundings of the hotel are also wonderful, beautiful garden. Not even to start about the rooms…so luxurious with such a beautiful bathroom and great beds..

Everything was amazing

A truly magical experience, pure unadulterated decadence and pleasure. We were greeted by an expanse of breathtaking, perfectly manicured gardens and then treated like royalty. Sparkling wine enhanced our euphoria as we flitted in and out many doorways in the main building, absorbing pure luxury in every breathtaking, elegant, beautifully decorated space Our cottage was indescribable. A roaring fire greeted us as we entered the cozy lounge, equipped with a generously filled hospitality tray and chilled bottle of wine; an ultra-luxurious bed adorned with cotton percale linen and then the pièce de resistance – the opulent bathroom. Every meal was a taste sensation, created and served with passion & pride. The warm and loving contribution of service by all staff is what really tipped the scales for us – outstanding! Hunters promise gracious elegance with sheer comfort and style - what we experienced far exceeded these expectations.

Cellphone charging plugs next to the bed would have been nice.

Breakfast was outstanding in choice and quality and was served in a beautiful light and sunny room. Staff were next level and made one feel like the only person staying at the lodge with their friendly, yet professional manner. The dinners at all of the restaurants was beautifully presented and of exceptional quality. A wide variety of facilities and services available to guests. Lovely walks on the property. Location was secluded enough to offer serenity and relaxation yet within close enough proximity to all the local attractions.
