We had the absolute BEST stay at this hotel! We were welcomed with a bottle of brut and a sweet treat on our room. The staff was very sweet and helped us with our luggage. The whole atmosphere of the accommodation is chill, relaxed and hip, while still maintaining a sense of luxury. The food and drinks are REALLY good and the locals that come there are very social people. They all gave us tips for the best places and things to do in the area. When we went on an early morning hike to Robberg before the kitchen opened for breakfast, the manager made sure we had a breakfast to go for the next morning, which was absolutely terrific! It was delicious and so sweet she made the extra effort. We also used the 24-hour laundry service, and the clothing came back freshly ironed and smelling lovely (just like the entire hotel does). Honestly, couldn’t have wished for anything more, it was the perfect stay and the location is super central if you’re looking to explore both Tsitsikamma, Robberg and Knysna. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And bonus tip: you must try their brownies, they’re literally the best I’ve ever had!

We had a wonderful stay at Barrington's. It is a beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed the complementary breakfast. Our room was beautiful and comfortable but a bit on the small side. Luckily there are bigger rooms to book if you need a bit more space. Hotel staff members were wonderful and they also made sure we always had a table at the restaurant if we wanted one. My husband also really enjoyed the complementary Barrington's beer tasting.

Parking at the hotel is very limited. One night a restaurant guest stopped in the hotel parking space and we had to stop our vehicle on the outside. This is not the hotel's fault, but maybe just something to look into.

It’s a beautiful property. The rooms are modern and have air conditioning. All the staff was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner was excellent! We had some laundry done which was great!

The bathroom for our room type didn’t have a door. Even though there was a glass door for the toilet, it was open at the top. It’s alright if you travel with your significant other but less ideal if traveling with a friend and you want some privacy when showering or using the toilet. There was also construction going on right below our balcony when we stayed there. Even though we were assured at check in that it won’t be very loud, it was still too loud to actually use it during the day.

Perfect stay in Plett! Barrington’s is a beautiful hotel and great value for money. We stayed during the low season and were very kindly upgraded to one of the bigger rooms, which I would definitely recommend as they have a little outdoor balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee listening to the birds. The room was very spacious, bright and clean. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. One of our favourite breakfasts of our trip. Thank you to all the wonderful Barrington’s for a great stay!

We love our stay here! We come every year and keep extending our length of stay because we love it! The room is wonderful- comfortable in every way. Bed is fabulous and the amenities clean. I love all the little details like butter cookies for your tea and a vegetable leaf in a vase in the bathroom… a great touch. MOST OF ALL … the staff are fabulous! They really take care of us. Can’t wait to return in 2026!

The design of the building is fantastic and very cleverly built. The bar, the big windows into the brewery, the bakery- the space is so nice. The rooms are really nice and clean, the food is top notch and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Great location as well with a five minute drive to both city centre and the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Not sure if it’s the same in every room but our bathroom was essentially in the bedroom with a half frosted glass wall. Might be better if the glass wall went from floor to ceiling to offer some privacy. BUT, I would not say this affected our stay much.

We visited for a long weekend in May and our stay was nothing short of exceptional! We were fortunate enough to have a stunning, sunny modern room with a lovely mountain view. The breakfasts were phenomenal, offering a very large, delicious and varied selection and the place has an all-round amazing vibe, exuding warmth and charm that made us feel instantly at home. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary beer tasting. Additionally, we loved exploring the vegetable garden, which showcased the accommodation’s commitment to sustainability and fresh produce. The location was perfect, providing easy access to nearby attractions while still offering a serene and peaceful retreat. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

Lovely friendly team, great food, limited areas to ‘hang out’ away from public restaurant and need a car as like everywhere not safe to walk around at night. The weather was great while we were there but there are no areas to sit outside other than with general public. It was fabulously clean & everyone super friendly

A private area for residents. Many reviews mention the glass bathroom doors but these are 2/3rds frosted & i’m 6 foot tall & didn’t feel my modesty compromised!

I've stayed at Barringtons a couple of times with the intention of getting some work done while there — and it’s been such a great spot for that. It’s quiet, comfortable, and especially cozy on colder days with the fireplaces going. The staff are warm, professional, and everything is always spotless. You get the sense that the team takes real pride in the place, and that the owners have high standards and care about the experience. Always a pleasure to come back.

Cool place to stay over en route. Stylish and comfortable. Beer tasting is a nice touch (your first is a welcome gift) and the food is nice. Breakfast scrummy and the wine / food / gift shop is fab. You may need a car if you want to go into Plett (about a 5 min drive).

No lift so we had to carry cases up and down the stairs. This is a personal thing for me but the toilet and shower are divided from the bedroom by a glass door - not enough privacy. And the toilet / toilet roll get wet as you shower. Realise this isn’t a problem for most people!
