The hotel is in an idyllic position if you want to be on the beach in a quiet location. The service was very good and the facilities were good. Breakfast was excellent. There is a beach bar 100 metres away across the sand which was really good with great food and service The main town of Plettenburg with all its bars and restaurants are a vigorous climb up the hill if you feel up to it. Otherwise there is a good efficient and reasonable taxi service available

As the hotel was sold there was work going on outside our window in preparation for extension work which was mildly irritating but didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay

Large, older residence that has been turned into a inn right on the beach. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast staff was very friendly providing a wonderful breakfast (Banana Surprise French Toast is a real treat!). We stayed off season so the restaurant that is part of the hotel was closed for the season. Plettenberg has many restaurant choices just a short drive away. Secure parking is within a walled courtyard

Location is of course excellent but what we liked most was the friendliness and helpfullness of ALL the staff. The breakfasts, including coffee was 1st class The car cleaning was a bonus

Room no3 is quite dark. We sat in the lounge area on the landing after our 2 wedding functions with old friends - and it was (we were!) quite loud - don't know if we could have sat in an area downstairs, which would have been less intrusive for other guests? It would be nice if there was a place to sit above the 1st floor on an outside veranda - as this would offer a panoramic view - prob quite expensive to organise but I expect it can be done.

Breakfast was really wonderful and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had the budget room which was spacious with a comfortable bed and large well equipped shower room. The location was good. Straight on to the beach and a short stroll to the lookout bar/restaurant. Close enough to town to be able to walk to shops (although it's a steep uphill walk).

Room just had a view of the rear path and fence. Not a problem for us as we spent most time away from the hotel. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the lovely deck area of the hotel near the dining area. Unfortunately when we tried to re-enter the hotel via the dining room at 8pm the doors were shut. We eventually managed to find a back exit out of the property grounds and we're able to enter the hotel via main gate.

The property was wonderfully situated right on the beach with fabulous views from the rooms. I loved the small private terrace and also the restaurant with river views. the rooms were large and clean and nicely decorated.

There was nothing I didn’t like

nice sized room - and lovely windows and french door leading out onto balcony - I was in room 9. hotel is on the beach although it is about a 3 minute walk to the actual ocean. Not much of an actual seaview (although you can certainly see the sea) from the rooms because of the sand dunes close to the hotel. Lovely lagoon view though from the rooms facing Lookout Beach. Serving staff in the restaurant was very nice. The location is super convenient and close to everything in Plett.

They should definitely upgrade their outdoor furniture to make their outdoor facilities much more attractive and more user friendly. LOUNGERS for the lagoon facing downstairs rooms and a proper fixed umbrella would be fabulous! Despite the shortcomings I still think Milkwood Manor is probably the best value in Plett you can get so I am booked again fro December 2024!

It's walking distance to the beach, but a bit farther away from the city centre so I recommend having a car. Rooms are comfortable, quiet and with amazing views either from the lagoon or the sea. The staff is amazing, everyone really nice and doing everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible, from booking restaurants and giving tips about what to do, to even washing our car!

Nothing at all. But you need a car to stay there (which wasn't a problem for us).

Just had a wonderful 2 night stay at Milkwood Manor, the property is right on the beach. Lovely room with a terrace having stunning views. Just a minute's walk across the breach to one of the best restaurants in Plett. Saw the Whales whilst having our meal. Other restaurants, bars and supermarkets are close by. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. even washed our car without asking. The setup for breakfast is at beachfront to start your day. I would highly recommend this property.

Breakfast was the best we have had on our trip….hot food and beautiful fruit served at the table so not sitting around going stale somewhere in the restaurant! Location is the best! Beautiful beach to walk or run. Staff at MWM were absolutely fantastic….nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile and not a scowl. The restaurant at MWM (Lemon Grass) was great for atmosphere, views and delicious food.

We stayed in an older room this time as we booked very late and it appeared a little tired😏 The bathroom was very clean but old and needs a bit of modernising and power shower. No pool.

Super friendly staff, we had such a warm welcoming when we arrived at 2pm on Tuesday the 18th June 2024. It was our 1st time visiting Plettenberg Bay, we couldn't of asked for better accommodation. The room was modern, with the most spectacular sea view. The breakfasts were delicious 😋. If we go to Plettenberg bay again, we'll definitely book at Milkwood Manor forsure 👌 Thank you Milkwood Manor for such an amazing stay, we loved every minute of it ❤️
