The hosts were amazing. Adrienne provided lots of local information and was so helpful. Berni also provided some additional input. The location is excellent with the beach so close and a couple of local restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was served with a smile and the offering was plentiful with fresh fruit salad, pancakes and a cooked breakfast with home made breads. Our hosts took an interest in our daily activities and provided helpful input where necessary. There was an outside pool which we couldn't try due to the weather.

Nothing- it was a lovely visit

Best stay during our trip to Cape Town and garden route (and we stayed in 7 different guest houses). The host are super friendly and they pay lot of attention to detail with decoration and small, but useful details in the room. Superb breakfast which includes continental and traditional english, very clean rooms and facilities. Nice and safe location with walking distance to restaurants and market. Beach is just 3 min from the lodge.

That we didn't stay longer

Adrienne and Bernie are wonderful hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent location close to Robberg beach and Nature Reserve. Beach chairs, parasols, body boards etc are all readily available along with beach bag and towels. They have thought of everything to make your holiday special. Delicious breakfasts with excellent choice and so kind catering for my husband who has coeliac with delicious pancakes and muffins. Lovely pool to relax in and cool down. When locked out of our car they went out of there way to assist , giving up their valuable time. Extremely helpful and informative about the area with maps and books all available. It is exceptional and we definitely hope to return one day.

The owners, they were most helpful in pointing out things to do and best ways to get there, both of them were very knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast was very satisfying. The room was always very clean after coming back from a day out. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stay 02/24/24-02/26/24 What a wonderful stay with Bernie and Adrienne. So friendly, attentive and helpful, with very good information for activities in the area. This is what you want as a host. Very nice atmosphere at Bayside Lodge. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely book with Bernie and Adrienne again on a future stop in Plettenberg. Eckhard and Maria Germany

It was a blast staying with Adrienne and Bernie. The house and the room had erverything you need and wish for when on vacation in Plett. The rooms were very comfy. Very close to the beach. The hosts had a lot of information for our trips and helped with the planning. We even got our clothes washed and dried for a few rand.

We received a warm welcome, so we felt welcome immediately. Finch Cottage is very well appointed with lovely biscuits and a sherry as a house gift. Very good breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. Bernie shared his knowledge of birds with us and both of them gave us good tips for excursions. I informed Adrienne that it was my wife's birthday during our stay. She organized a birthday cake, which the staff serenaded over. In addition, Adrienne professionally removed a tick from my wife's leg. When saying goodbye, there were tips for the onward journey. Adrienne and Bernie were the best hosts during our four week trip. Should we come back to Plettenberg Bay, Bayside Lodge will be our first choice.

If we really had to criticize something, it would be the hand shower, which in our opinion is not optimally placed.

A pretty and private property within a gentle walk of Robberg Beach. lovley couple who made us feel at home. we stayed for 9 nights, our longest stay this trip. we had room to relax, great clean pool and the gardens added colour.

We loved the property, the breakfast and relaxed but professional approach from both Adrianne and Bernie. Some land clearance nearby by a noisy digger interrupted the serenity for an hour or so but with no impact on our stay

Property is in a perfect location, Comfortable, Host and team were professional, pleasant and generous with information on activities. I liked swimming in the pool and the pool area.

Bernie and Adrienne are the perfect hosts. They are so enthusiastic and helpful. They gave us lots of detailed information about the local area, hikes and restaurants. The breakfast spread is very generous. We liked the nice quiet location and only 3 minutes walk from the beach.
