Lairds Lodge was recommended to us, and quite rightly so! The setting is peaceful, the staff courteous and friendly, the food amazing and the bedrooms are super comfortable. Would definitely recommend. If we were touring the Western Cape, we would definitely stay here again. The wine farm Luka, right across the road is great, if you’re looking for a wine tasting!

Disappointed there was no fridge in the room. We had bought wine and hoped to drink it before leaving.

Great property with excellent food. All staff were lovely and it was very relaxing. Breakfast which was included was excellent, and the evening two course meal was fantastic and excellent value for money. Would stay again without hesitation.

Make sure you arrive from the East when arriving. The road is very muddy when wet and we nearly struggled with our hire car. Our fault, but use entrance almost opposite the elephant sanctuary to be sure.

It is a beautiful estate in an excellent location - so much to do just a short drive away. The smiling staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. The meals are all delicious and the breakfast is amazing.

It was a little cold but the weather was extremely icy during our stay. The staff did everything to make us comfortable - organising an extra heater and providing hot water bottles.

Our best stay along the Garden Route. Amazing country lodge off the beaten track. Staff were beyond wonderful and kind. We were greeted with sparkling wine, given a tour of the beautiful lodge, fed sumptuously. Beautiful bar. Book their dinner in advance, it's worth it.

Nothing could have been done better, it was all great. But a recommendation to make sure you book their dinner. The lodge is out in the country and there aren't many choices for dinner nearby. But luckily their dinner is so amazing you won't want to go elsewhere.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful with a variety of cooked, fruits, pastries, cakes, breads etc. , gardens are very pretty but the stand out is the staff who go beyond. My husband was feeling unwell and was immediately given a local plant infusion which sorted him out. They are all incredibly helpful, smiley and kind and set us up for a beautiful stay in South Africa

This is a beautiful lodge, with beautiful staff and beautiful food. The first course for breakfast - you never know what delicious treat will be served there. Dinner is also in top notch class. The lodge and rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable.

There was virtually no wifi-signal in the room. And the big pot holes in the short strech of dirt road leading to the lodge could do with a fill up.

Lairds Lodge is a beautiful stylish property. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We stayed two nights and had dinner both nights, it was that delicious! We really enjoyed going to the bar to have a drink before dinner after hiking in the Robberg nature reserve and exploring Plettenberg Bay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious as well! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Lairds Lodge!

Nothing to complain about at all!

Arriving at Lairds Lodge on a cold, chilly August day we were welcomed with such warmth from the moment we drove through the gates of this beautiful estate on the outskirts of Plettenberg on the gorgeous Garden Route- Warm greetings and warm smiles from charming staff and a warm open fire where we enjoyed a drink as we checked in. Initial impressions of exceptional service were spot on and continued throughout our delightful four night stay. Lairds Lodge is a truly beautiful guest house that delivers way beyond its four star rating. The amazing staff honestly can’t do enough for you; the food is in a class of its own- we had a 3 course dinner each evening meriting a Michelin star for taste and presentation- we ran out of superlatives describing the subtle, complementary flavours woven into each dish- simply divine and such good value; and the interior and exterior design are both exquisite and immaculately kept with a unique and elegant combination of traditional Dutch and modern style- Fabulous! If you are looking for somewhere really special to stay on the Garden Route, book it now- you won’t regret it; and, like us, you will never want to leave!

Having to leave!

What a beautiful place, luxury accommodation and service, full of the little extras that make the experience so memorable. Location is beautiful, the lodge is full of beautiful furniture and things, a touch of class. Facilities are amazing. The Food was high quality, we especially enjoyed the dinner with local wine and champagne, a great, warm friendly experience, excellent value for money. The stay was full of little touches that made you feel very special, thank you. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

We didn't stay longer

Breakfast was superb. Located just 8km out of the centre of Plett, the hotel was a beautiful oasis. The monkey bar was a nice place to be able to retire after dinner. We ate at the hotel 3 nights out of 4 and the meals were wonderful and very good value for money.
